Scott really can sing with that much grit, he can be smooth, sing high or low, etc… he’s ridiculously talented and truly getting better every year! (But he can’t remember lyrics 😂).
If you watch "The Masked Singer" you know that after each unmasking the artist sings for the audience without the mask, but usually the show goes to commercial or ends the show after a few bars. This is the only time I've seen them show the entire unmasked performance.
That’s alright. All of us pentaholics knew that they were Pentatonix by Scott’s second syllable. You will find that Scott can sing like that. Recommend his original song, Parallel. Recommend their cover of The Prayer.
Two of the judges mentioned PTX after the first performance. They were mentioned by one or more judges each time after that too. With the same person taking the lead each time, they could hide a little. The beginning of Total Eclipse, and Kirstie taking the lead, showed that it was a group with 5 leads. That completely gave it away for anyone who didn't recognize Scott's voice.
from what i saw out read in an interview, they didn't "end up" in 3rd place, per se, they needed off the show to fulfill previous obligations. I can't remember where i saw/heard that.
I love Pentatonix. I listen to them everyday. The Masked Singer is a fun show. Along with them I love The Fox and The Sun. You should react to both of them.
The show is for fun, and if all the judges recognize an artist immediately and everyone makes the same guess it wouldn't be as fun. The judges guess after each performance, with a final guess right before the reveal, and I think at least one judge guessed Pentatonix each time. Other guesses included singers from the cast of “The Lion King,” “Pitch Perfect,” “High School Musical” and “Hamilton”. The Pitch Perfect guess was actually correct since Pentatonix was in Pitch Perfect II.
Yes, they have headset mics on underneath, the ones they were holding while in costume were props, lol. The whole show is totally staged. One or two of the judges guessed Pentatonix, right away, but pretended they weren't sure. It was pretty silly, lol. Still fun, though!
There were two judges that guessed correctly after the first or second song and stayed with that to the end. One other did mention them as a possibility, but guessed someone else.
You're dead on right about the mics under the costumes. Also right about the judges probably knowing instantly who they had on stage. They just have to pretend to keep the "mystery" alive for the 10% who didn't figure it out instantly. It's not useful to go on about Vevo and how we might not see the video. Realize by the time we see it, it just sounds silly to go on about it. BTW "reactions" (i.e. reviews) are specifically ALLOWED by the DMCA (the law used to boot your videos off YT). There's a form to tell YT it's a review and they'll put it back up. Takes a while, but at least you can get it back on. Also, Brave browser does an outstanding job of suppressing ads on YT, and runs on all platforms.
I honestly don’t think they could believe a group as famous as PTX would come on the show. Nick Canon was like, “why are you here?” Robin Thicke knew it right away. They had a great time just doing something different. I don’t watch this show but it’s so obvious.
agreed, the show is very staged, which is why PTX finished in 3rd place in that series. I don't watch that show, mostly because it's generally a joke, and this series confirmed my feelings.
Please, react to Jann - "Promise" (Chillizet Live Session) He is a talented polish artist with a rare voice - countertenor. Jann writes all his songs and lyrics. Thank you!

Pretty sure there no distortion on Scott's voice. He really does do the grit in his vocals when he chooses to employ it.

Thanksfor the reaction. I got to see all the enjoyable performances for the first time! Who knew Sushi could sing so well,

it is all in your head . listen to prayers for the world and you will see Scott has that Rasp when he wants it
Yeah, I understand rasp. It just seems like there's distortion on it too. Probably is all in my head though.

If they didn't know Scott's voice, then it must be staged. Especially "Creep".
I hope you will react to Haley Reinhart performing her original song "LOVESICK"
