My husband and I are watching from Greece and we see some of your posts,we think you are great, very professional.calm, honest wonderful person, your a HERO x
I came across this quote many years ago from an unknown author: "Live out the edges of your life. That's where the soul thrives. The soul seeks possibilities that can only be found beyond what is already known, safe and comfortable. It doesn't understand the meaning of 'impossible.' What is already known is already known. To the soul, the 'juice' lies in the unknown, where all things are possible. The soul calls us to the edge, then go beyond." Life has its ups and downs, that is the reality. It's how we choose to respond in any given moment, that will bring joy or sadness, hope or anxiety, peace or turmoil. Your little family is very brave and I am very proud of you all. Love lots. 😘🌹
Beautiful video. Meaningful and good advice about gratitude and getting outside. Exercise and being out in nature can be healing when feeling low.Take care and thank you Xx
Hi! Thank you so much for watching. Gosh, Eibhlin was so tiny in this video, I think this was over a year ago! Being outdoors and enjoying nature has been my saving grace. I've grown a lot since making this video xxx
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm learning that it helps to just take life one day at a time... and not focus on things that are out of our control.
This is very inspiring video. You said very important things about mental side of the emigration process. This year I'm about to take steps for moving to Ireland with my family! I wish very best to you and your family!
Thank you so much for your comment. It is hard but also so rewarding... it's finding the balance that's the trick :-) We're still working on that but we are happy and don't regret making the move. Wishing you and your family all the best with your plans!
A new subbie here😀 Yes things will get better. I can identify with what you are saying. We have made Ireland our home since 2003. Starting all over wasn't easy. Our 2 boys were 10 and 8 years old. I was diagnosed with depression and as my GP told me at the time,"moving house is stressful, just imagine moving country". I like the way you say ask for help..Thank you for your honesty. At the time it was my Pastor's wife ( a lovely Scottish lady advised me to see my GP. And yes the first thing we did, wasto join a church here in Ireland. We were the only foreign family atvthe time, and yes we are still in the same church, it was a great help. Our 2 boys are now handsome men, one is married and living in England and the other is a teacher with a lovely Northern Irish girlfriend. Your baby is georgous. God bless your wee family. Xx
Hi Eunice! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. It helps to hear from other people and their experiences. I don't regret our decision to move to Ireland for a moment. I look at our kids and see how happy, safe and secure they are and just know in my heart if hearts that all the sacrifice was worth it. And I hope that like you I will also be able to look back one day and see how far we've come! We have so many hopes and dreams, so much to look forward to! 💕
Thank you so much for sharing the rain as well as the sunshine and rainbows. My family is seriously considering moving to Ireland from Texas which is how I found your channel. I love the fun and happy glimpses into the lives of those who have moved to Ireland but I also need to know what potential struggles to prepare for. The distance from friends, family and the routine we have in our current lives will no doubt be difficult. It is easy to immerse myself in the daydreams of the positive changes. But, I am old enough to know I do not know what I will mourn or miss until it is a memory. I will likely even mourn things that in the long run I will be happy to have left. Change is hard even if it is good. Thank you so much. I am glad you are giving voice to your struggles instead of putting on a brave face and hiding it away. That is empowering for you and for others who may also be struggling in their own way. Mental health is something we should all be more open with. I know learning to be more open with myself and others is what has helped me tremendously over the years. I wish I could whisper that into my younger self’s ear. But at least I did learn it eventually. Sending you love from the States!
Hi punkitten! Thank you so much for your comment. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings as well. Too often what we see on social media and youtube is only the happy side... not enough truth and reality. I'm learning to embrace being real because it's easy to only show the good times! Thank you for your honesty and I wish you all the best in your decision making process. Ireland has been a breath of fresh air for us.
@@impromptuimmigrants I appreciate the time you took to respond. I hope you continue to enjoy the lovely breath of fresh air as you navigate the exciting, mundane, challenging and delightful moments as they come. I genuinely look forward to seeing glimpses of your experiences as my own family plans for an initial sabbatical before making the final decision to leap ahead. I hope after thirty days in Ireland the choice is clear. But no matter the decision we come to I look forward to a month of exploring the beautiful island that I have only seen via pictures and video. Since we are currently experiencing triple digit weather I only wish I could make that visit happen sooner! Take care!❤️
As an Irish person we know more about emigration than most, I found it like a sickness of the mind and the thing is it comes out of the blue, can't say it ever goes away ,it didn't for me so I eventually came home, I have sisters in America since the 1960's and although they are now 80 plus years old and have great grand children ,both would probably come home at the drop of a hat,you will one day as your kids get older you will find it easier ,also staying at home with a new baby can be isolating ,it would be wonderful just to drop around to the grandparents for a cuppa and show her off and enjoy those great moments,at least you are doing the right thing by talking about it ,hang in there the good times will lift you
Hi Trebor. Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your experience. It does come out of the blue at times, when you least expect it. I am focusing on each day as it presents itself and challenging myself to get out and get involved in the community. That does help! Thank you again for your openness.
Nobody wants to leave Ireland for the USA. Every single Irish person who immigrated to the USA over the last 400 years would have returned to the Emerald Isle if they could have. I have done my DNA test on Ancestry and sometimes when I look at family tree's of DNA matches of me I despair for them. Imagine the hope that these poor brave people had for their children, their grand-children etc. and then look at the state of the USA today. Their descendants belong to a society that is so much poorer than the one their ancestors brought them to.
Sad to see a beautiful human not happy, may life get better for you Ireland should be very happy to have a wonderful human like you and your family, true love from my family to your family
Thanks for the honesty. I am moving in 6 weeks and really excited but scared. Its such a huge change for out family but I think Ireland can be our true home. Would love to stay in touch with you when i am there

My wife moved to England over 20 years ago now. She could barely speak English,l was a loner, not close to my family at all. She was very lonely for a long time, suffered depression along the way,but got help from the her doctor via medication too help cope with it. Hi Francis. What you say is very true. You have to put yourself out there, make friends and get involved in the community. I suppose we all have our off days but we need to move on and get on with life. Thank you for your comment.
Francis, your English writting is terrible
@@impromptuimmigrants definitely talk to your Irish friends about how your feeling and your fellow immigrant friends you'll get to know people and you'll soon be ok talk to your family as often as possible and if you do find you need professional help don't be afraid to seek it but things will move on and hopefully you'll be fine I have a brother in America and he was homesick for awhile and every time he came home he went on about how lovely Ireland is and how much he missed the laid back people but now he's American to the back bone and as soon as he visits us poor owl paddies he can't wait to get back.
