Absolutely informative channel that you have, I have been watching on and off for a few days straight. We have been on the fence emigrating to Ireland specifically, due to loose ends that need to be tied up here in SA. Home renovations are the main reason, our deciding factor was when we were planning on spending an enormous amount on solar power. Still going through with it, our house is the main asset that will fund us going forward. Currently having such an information overload and writing pages full of notes. Thank you for sharing your story and all the advice given. I'm sure we will handle it step by step as needed, and hopefully land in Ireland in our timeline chosen. The only question currently that I have is regarding the school curriculum here in SA Vs Ireland. My son will be in Gr 6 and daughter Gr 3 ( Afrikaans first language) What would be in their best interest to not let them fall behind a great deal, as I know English first language is daunting.
Hi Chrystal, thank you so much for your comment. I'm so glad you've found the videos helpful. There are quite a few children in my children's schools who have come from Europe where English is not their first language. If your children do feel like they're struggling, chat with the school. Josh struggled with the maths as they were quite far ahead of what he was in South Africa. The school jumped in and provided extra lessons to help him catch up and that really helped. Take the process one step at a time, it can feel quite overwhelming. Wishing you all the best!
Love your videos. Thank you for sharing. I will be moving to Ireland in July with my husband. We are scared and excited at the same time. We are definitely new subs to your channel.
Hi Denielle! I am so excited for you and your husband! Wishing you all the best! You are right, it is terrifying and soooo exciting at the same time! Thank you so much for sharing in on our journey.
