It's like you go on journeys and take us with you for better or worse and that is the secret of these videos . They are a retreat from toxic villagers and influencers . Ah you keep saying it wasn’t a good video but it was awesome. That’s the kinda random stuff we like to do. Sometimes you win sometimes not. But it’s all great memories. Thanks for sharing.
My father was born in Heart's Delight and lived there until was he was 12. My grandparents moved the family to St. John's in the late 1950s, but kept the house in Heart's Delight as a summer residence. I spent many weekends there as a child. Your videos of my home province are fantastic.
Hearts Delight is such a beautiful name for a summer spot. I always thought Red Roses in Wales was the prettiest name for a village. In New Zealand we have Peep o Day … plus a whole lot of Maori place names that mean something very special.
No icebergs, but plenty of anticipation! Mother Nature can be so unpredictable, unfortunately. But you had a lovely drive through Dildo and the "Heart's Delight, Heart's Desire, and Heart's Content" trio! Unfortunately, you missed Shag Rock (yes, it's real!), located in Heart's Delight. And the little community of Spread Eagle, just across the tickle from Dildo. My goodness, we have a lot of suggestive place names in Trinity Bay! 😂😂😂 Glad you spotted the Tunnock's Caramel Log Bars, Snowballs and Tea Cakes. They're imported by British Confectionery Ltd. in St. John's and are hugely popular treats in Newfoundland! That surprises a lot of Scottish visitors! Thanks for another lovely video. Cheers!
2 Scottish people showing a Newfoundlander more of Newfoundland than I had seen while living there. Jimmy Kimble had been given honorary mayor of Dildo a few years ago. 😂😂😂 He had a few running segments about it, I believe they are still located somewhere on UA-cam. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Icebergs, scheissebergs. And you did actually spot one! Mission accomplished. Well done. This video really tickled my funnybone, Steve and Alicja. Several times I actually laughed out loud. Thanks to both of you for displaying a great sense of humor (gift for comedy?) and sharing it with your viewers. 👍👍
I almost don't worry about what Steve/Alicja find as I know the video will be entertaining. Vlogging is as much about the people making the video as it is seeing sights. The funny place name Dildo reminded me of when I drove through Intercourse in Penns., USA.
Don't worry about no icebergs. Went on an expensive trip in Iceland to find northern lights and saw nothing only to get back to our b&b and see them out the kitchen window.😮
You're delightful, both of you. The postage jumpers in the previous video have a story to them: When the NL government became insolvent in the 1930s and the British took direct control, they discontinued 2 colour (red and black, plus white). NL was allowed only one colour stamps (red and white or black and white). Newfoundland ers have not forgotten the insult.
Wonderful video!!! I love the journey so much! The wee walks, coffee an snack breaks and going to the off the road woods to drop off used coffee!!! Memories of my life long road trips!!! Love!!!🥰💪
Nice one Steve and Alicja, shame about the icebergs but it was still a pretty awesome trip 🥰 thumbs up to Alicja for all her research into everything, she's a walking encyclopaedia 🥰
I live in Brigus which is about a 10 or 15 minute drive from Bay Roberts. There is a spot in Bay Roberts called Mad Rock its right down in the east end of Bay Roberts and it would of bought you right out to the point and you would of seen it then. It was out in the harbour cause i seen it at the time you all were here. As well about the SS Kyle there is a famous resitation called the Smoke room on the Kyle if you ever want to look it up and read it. My father worked on that boat back in the day and it use to take people and supplies back and forth to the Labrador Coast. If you ever get back to Newfoundland you should come visit Brigus. We are a great little town with lots of history and great little eaterys. you had mentioned in a previous video about Seeweed Gin and if you drove through Clarkes Beach you would of drove past the Distillery that makes it ! hope this bit of information was helpful ! I hope you enjoyed your visit.
I couldn't work out if it was an iceberg or a speck of dirt on my phone screen but I them cleaned the screen and can confirm you did indeed find one. Bravo.
Steve, you are the first person I've ever heard of from the UK or Europe who likes root beer. If you ever visit St. Louis, Missouri, US you should try Fitz's Root Beer they are a local craft soda co. and restaurant.
Enjoyed this vid so much with the banter between you two! Doesn’t matter where you take us we love ❤ you two and your vids. Always so interesting and educational as they are places that a lot of us will never see.🇨🇦
I still enjoyed the video. I enjoyed the joy you two have. be thankful for having each other. I think the best trips are sometimes the ones where you have loads of time to wander. as always you have a record now. What I would not give to have that.
I like so much watching as you two explore together! No matter what you find it’s interesting. It reminds me of all the times I drove around the US. Little nice details are what I remember. Just like when you saw the plane when you didn’t even expect it to be in that town. And the countryside always beautiful.
Great video, great road trip. Well done, Steve & Alicja. Glad you found an iceberg! I keep going back to that burger & chips! The statue/notice about Amelia Earhart was impressive. Nice one, both. 😊 👍
The scenery reminds me of the area where I grew up on the Kitsap Peninsula in Western Washington (across Puget Sound from Seattle...If you ever ride the ferries from downtown Seattle, you'll end up on the Kitsap peninsula). That was a lovely area back in the day. Lots of fantastic drives around Puget Sound that were just gorgeous. Now you're making me homesick...Haven't been up that way in probably 20 years. Now I want to go for a drive..lol
What a delight this video was, an even bigger delight with the irrepressible Alicia! It was excellently edited Steve, so don’t worry. Reminded me of my Canadian trip, too! I think you ought to eat more salads though , with all those long drives!!!!
Great effort . I’m sorry you didn’t find more icebergs but it wasn’t for lack of trying ! It was interesting to see the area and I could imagine just how fresh the air was .. .. nothing like northern air . I love the honesty of your videos . Great job , both of you .
What a find to see the plane and the Amelia Earhart statue. Great for a plane nut like you. Glad you got to see one iceberg. Surprised you didn’t try to find a little souvenir from d1ldo…even if it was just to bother Alicja! 😆 Cheers, and ATB!
As I previously mentioned back in 1986 a group of us hired a car in Gander and drove to Twillingate for lunch, then returned via the coast road (Hwy 330/320) back to Gander, known locally as the Gander loop. It was a very scenic drive, and made me think how charming some of these coastal villages are.
Hi Steve, nice video and sorry there were no major icebergs. A lot of people scattered about in many small towns along the way. Thanks for sharing this video. 😁👍
Another great video with the magic duo! Must admit I`m watching theses Canadian videos with a heavy heart as I used to live there and miss it a lot! Now back in Scotland but longing to maybe go back someday! I know what you mean about long distances- I once drove from Vancouver all the way across the TCH to Ontario! What a trip that was :0)
Reminds me of the day we were driving to get to a hill lake in Italy, we could finally see it from a distance, but we couldn't find a way to get to it. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the journey 😊
Another great video! Keep them coming! I worked in Mount Isa , Queensland, for ten years. We’d regularly drive down to Tweed Head, a distance of 1904 kilometres. Did it non stop, once, in just over 22 hrs. Got a bit tired after 1500 kilometres. Our nearest ‘shopping centre’ was Townsville, a mere 910 kilometres and a 10 hour drive! It was a laugh when we had visitors from overseas, all we got was ‘are we there yet? 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the video! I live about 15 minutes away from the rest stop with Morris the moose, where you left your business card, so I popped in there the other day when I was passing through. It's still up there, 5 months later! This wasn't a great year for icebergs, certainly not your fault. Come back next year and maybe it will be better!
As ever Steve, content is 1st class, showing of Canada at its best. My nephew is in Nova Scotia, so these videos giving me some ideas what it’s like out thier. Look forward to the next
At least you found ICE(cream) BURG(er)S. 😄 I don't know which of your Canada videos I like best: the one about the closed lighthouse, the one about the empty airport, or the one about the missing icebergs. Top content! 😉
Greetings from Ann Arbor! Sorry you didn't find your iceberg, but so many cool things to see while driving! Love how the paint their homes all those bright colors! So fun!
Hello from Oz, shame that you only got to see the one "berg but better than nothing, very scenic drive you had there with forest on one side and sea the other, thank you for your efforts and stay safe and well, cheers.
Love watching you both doing these car tours. Love doing them too. Just head out and see what you can find. Brilliant. What a beautiful place Newfoundland is.
So excited to see the DC3 ( was absolute workhorse of any airline) i got to sit in copilots seat in 1954 when I got my first pilot license as chief pilot ( a friend) said go up and see if you can fly it! My first flight ever was in 1946 flying from Vancouver to Lethbridge, Alta. and we all had to use O2 masks over the rockies!🇨🇦
Really enjoyed this, you two are brilliant together and so funny. Loved some of the village names 😂. You did find us an iceberg so mission accomplished xx
I saw a bigger 'berg in the Greggs freezer at my local Iceland last week 😂Joking aside, another great video and you just keep them coming mate. One of the very few UA-camrs out there who always gets a "beginning to the very end" viewing from me. 😃
“Dildonians”….You guys are such a pleasure to watch!! Love the interactions that you two have on your travels. Keep doing what you do!! And….come to Texas sometime!! Where driving 5 hours is just a normal daytrip for some good bar-b-que and maybe some music!!
Thanks Steve and Alicja. Another interesting and entertaining video. It certainly is a very different environment up there. It's hard to believe just how vast Canada actually is. Your video certainly gives us a taste of reality. Maybe you will spot icebergs when you fly back to the UK. Assuming it will be daylight with clear skies. Thanks again and good luck.
When we first moved to Canada the thing that impressed me most was the miles and miles of straight beautiful roads....(back then England was all higgledy piggledy little roads). I am not personally a fan of this wilderness that you guys seem to enjoy, but I am still impressed with the roads ...even in these remote areas. It's nice to see you two enjoying it all 😊
A beautiful drive looking for icebergs and I love the colored rocks at Queens Head. I love Alicijas menu ideas however never heard hamburgers 😂. No icebergs in the trees 😂😂. I love you both…so much fun ❤️🤗. Looking forward to the next video.

Steve seems to have mastered driving on the right. Now he’s going to have to be careful when he gets home.
Funny thing is most of Newfoundland is further south than the UK, just shows what a difference the gulf stream makes
It's not only the Canadian's that love a good Muffin - love the dynamic that the two of you have. Great video.
No icebergs, but plenty of anticipation! Mother Nature can be so unpredictable, unfortunately. I keep imagining Gordon Lightfoot crafting a beautifully sad and haunting song based on this video. RIP GL.
You 2 are treating us at the moment with all these vids from Newfoundland , awesome, keep it up 👍🙏
I almost don't worry about what Steve/Alicja find as I know the video will be entertaining. Vlogging is as much about the people making the video as it is seeing sights. The funny place name Dildo reminded me of when I drove through Intercourse in Penns., USA.
That was a long day Steve but at least you got to see an iceberg (or was it an ice cube!). Alijca is a bit like Scott M - "No coffee No workee" 😊
Don't worry about no icebergs. Went on an expensive trip in Iceland to find northern lights and saw nothing only to get back to our b&b and see them out the kitchen window.😮
That’s funny 😂. Same happened to us, although it was our son that saw them from his kitchen window in Aberdeen when we were in Iceland!
Fast becoming my go to video to relax and have a cup of tea!
You're delightful, both of you.
The postage jumpers in the previous video have a story to them:

Best iceburg video ever
Thank you for taking me along. Beautiful scenery and charming conversation!
I agree with many others, these are very interesting videos 😊 The scenery is lovely and it's fun to see you and Alicja exploring. Keep them coming!
Ah! Many of these places are famous from Great Big Sea songs - Carbonear, Harbour Grace, Twillingate Isle.... Fascinating to actually see them!
I clearly need to expand my music knowledge urgently!
Wonderful video!!! I love the journey so much! The wee walks, coffee an snack breaks and going to the off the road woods to drop off used coffee!!! Memories of my life long road trips!!! Love!!!🥰💪

I hope you managed a day off after that humongous drive! This is a lovely series of videos. Thank you.
Twillinggate reminded me of some of the more northerly islands of Shetland. Ravishing to look at - but glad I don’t have to spend the winter there.
Enjoyed this vid so much with the banter between you two! Doesn’t matter where you take us we love ❤ you two and your vids. Always so interesting and educational as they are places that a lot of us will never see.🇨🇦
Stoked finally to be caught up on these videos! The Canadian content has been absolutely brilliant.
Steve, thank you for highlighting the wonderful province of Newfoundland. Much appreciated.
It was wonderful to see that classic Douglas DC-3 and the Amelia Earhart memorial statue in Harbour Grace. Thanks for sharing them.👍
Fun giggles 👋🏻 love the travels to destinations unknown by me. Thank you Steve and Alicia.

Alijca, you really need to show Steve what he’s been missing out on. Sponge Bob is hysterical! Best episode ‘Mrs. Puff’s Driving School’ !
19:41 Epic. "Can't let you go away hungry" is what that says to me. And you've got root beer to wash it all down. That's great. 🤣
This Newfoundland series is just wonderful. 😀
As a PS I love the "random" videos - there's a joy in sometimes just seeing what you find rather than "today's mission"....
The Dakota and shipwreck were a nice little side quest. And who knew Heart's Delight is accessible via Dildo.... 😂
What a lovely panoramic drive.
You saw an iceberg!. Lucky you 😊
Hi Steve and Alicja . So glad you guys are having a great trip. Another great video . Safe trip home.
Really loved seeing the different small towns. Canada is an amazing country!

You may not have seen giant icebergs but most enjoyable. Thank you for showing us these places and some interesting points.
An amazing and very vast place indeed. Highways seem to go on forever!!! 😀
Alicja has an answer for everything. Contemplating nature 😂. Enjoying the videos keep them coming
I love your Newfoundland investigations. Such different landscapes than across the pond.
"Strap on folks, we're heading to Dildo!" Never gets old.

Hi guys, all the way from falkirk 😆 Love the channel, very informative, and you both compliment each other, funny too. Thanks for keeping it real ❤
Thanks, as usual I enjoyed it, other than the sea it reminds me of Northern Ontario, which is my home...
Very watchable...as are all your videos!

"There's a wee Moose loose in the hoose." As me wee feather used to say. He was from Wishaw too.
Even though no icebergs it was a lovely video with beautiful scenery and pretty homes along the way. We'll done with all that driving!❤
Loved the towns in late evening.
Labrador airways merged with Innu Mikun airlines and is now called Air Borealis ! Great vid as always !
“Dildonians”….You guys are such a pleasure to watch!! Love the interactions that you two have on your travels. Keep doing what you do!! And….come to Texas sometime!! Where driving 5 hours is just a normal daytrip for some good bar-b-que and maybe some music!!
