    In this video, we explain the concept of riba in Islam, its different types and why it is prohibited in Islam. Riba is an unjustified increment in borrowing or lending money, paid in kind or in money above the amount of loan, as a condition imposed by the lender or voluntarily by the borrower. We also explain how riba is different from other forms of interest and how it is applied in the context of Islamic banking and finance. The vlide also explains the types of riba (Riba An Nasiyah and Riba Al Fadl), with examples.

    For all muslimin, understand that the current monetary system known as "Fiat money" is driven and only works because of riba. How I wish we islamic nations could perpetuate and come up with an independent asset based monetary system that is halal and doesn't erode the wealth of the people in the long run.

      Since Paul Volker (early 1980's) , central banks have been pretty successful at controlling inflation. Their target is now about 2% per year. There are arguments among economists about whether 2% or zero % is better, you seem to be in the zero % camp, so make your case to them. In any case, fiat money (which is mostly deposit/electronic based now) is far superior to the wild speculative swings in gold and silver prices.

    Riba is basically selling of money which is limited anyway .... it creates money from money and money is supposed to be defined as only a useful tool of transaction, it represents a value and it has no value in its own right. The value that they usually ascribe to it is 'risk and time' but that's such a nonsense if you think about it. Interest literally makes no sense, but we live in world where Kim Kardashian is a popular person and where people globally think that muslims are terrorist and that liberalism is a superior system so yeh ...

      If the loan exceed it’s time limit Islam encourage in forgiving the loan ( if you’re wealthy enough and the person who’s in debt has some real reason ) or simply increase the time as in Islam the Farewell prayer of the Muslim can’t be called unless he’s clear from his/her debt. That’s why when the people gather around to pray the farewell prayer ( Namaz-e-Janazah) the heirs of the dead persons make an announcement If anybody owes anything to the dead one please come forward usually people forgive the loan ( As Allah will be happy ) or if anyone ask for it he can’t be denied.

    Thank you very much for the time and effort to make this video. Unfortunately, I would have appreciated a little more explanation. at 5:17 he says that you should sell cash in the market value etc. So, what does that mean when you've got inflation. Money today is not worth the same as in 10 years. So if I borrow somebody 100 euros and he pays back to me in 10 years the exact same amount of money, he basically stole of me because the value of 100 euros today is maybe 120 euros in 10 years. I don't think the 20 euros more can be considered riba, right?

    • @farhansyabibi170
      @farhansyabibi170 9 місяців тому

      Thats why you should state when he should return the money.
      For example i lend you 100 dollars, you agreed to pay back in a week with a guarantee, something of similar value, if you cant do it, i can sell that guarantee, for example for 120 dollars, then give you the 20, 100 for me as the payment.
      Lending money without guarantee means you should expect people not to pay back.
      But nevertheless in the afterlife there would be the most just Judge, Allah, who will decide the dispute. Idk what the punishment in the world though, maybe there is, maybe there isnt

    • @iwi127
      @iwi127 9 місяців тому

      @@farhansyabibi170 thank you for your effort and your time but that is not exactly what I meant.
      What I meant is;
      I borrow you 100 euros in 2022. The inflation rate in one year is 5%. So one would have to get 105 euros back in order for the value to be exact the same. So 100 euro in 2022 is 105 euro in 2023. If you give me back 100 euro in 2023, you took 5 euro of me. Of course for smaller amounts nobody cares but people also loan each other huge amounts for longer periods of time.
      Money is a medium of exchange, so the value of the money is in how many goods I can buy with it in one year compared to the other. If in the example I gave here above in 2022 I can buy 2 eggs and a bread with the 100 euro, and I lend you the money I still want to be able to buy 2 eggs and 1 bread in 2023 and not only 1 egg and 1 bread.

For example if you buy today cash 100000 but you don't have enough money to buy in cash. You meet Islamic Bank and they willing to buy it for you, and sell back to you after calculate their profit and risk. You know how much you will pay for the house in 30 years.If you found it too expensive , you can negotiate with the Islamic Bank to lower the price that reasonable to both of you before signing the agreement. I have a question, if someone's needs a lone from the Bank or a fellow person, and he tells me to help him with like My Land tittle such that they give him money, then after paying that money he brings back my tittle, do I also be counted on his sin????

      You seems to be talking about "Rahn", which is not loan, but a kind of guarantee.
      "Rahn" is an arrangement whereby a valuable asset is placed (for example land in your case), is placed as a collateral for a debt.
      The collateral may be disposed off in the event of a default.

    I’m curious, are you allowed to take interest in order to be given purely for Zakat? Or is it even more haram because you are donating haram money?

    Wait so let’s say I buy a house with a loan from the bank and every month I pay the bank money because I took the loan is that riba?

    • @arsenalx95
      @arsenalx95 3 роки тому +3

      Yes if the bank charges interest for that loan. If it doesn’t (which is almost non existent) then that loan isn’t riba. Because essentially you would be paying back whatever you took from the bank as a loan.
      Ex. You took $300,000 to a buy a home, if the bank says you only pay back $300,000 then that’s not riba. If however you borrow a loan of $300,000 and the bank wants $325,000 in returns, then the excess of $25,000 is considered riba.

      Islamic Banking works differently than Conventional Banking system.
      In Islamic Banking, Islamic Bank or Financial Institution purchases the house (or other asset such as car, machinery, etc) on Customer's request from the owner, and sale it to Customer after adding Profit to the Original price. There are several Islamic modes that can be used for this purpose, such as Murabahah or Ijarah.
      For Example:
      Bank buys a house for $300,000 and sells it to Customer for $320,000. Unlike conventional bank, in Islamic banking transactions, an asset is sold (not money) and bank owns that asset before it can be sold to the customer.

    Baqara 3:130: O you who believe do not feed on usury (do not take excessive from borrower) compounded over and over and fear Allah. So that you may prosper : About Interest
    "2:274 Those who spend their wealth by night and day, privately and publicly, will receive their reward from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve.
    2:275 Those who swallow usury will not rise, except as someone driven mad by Satan's touch. That is because they say, “Commerce is like usury.” But Allah has permitted commerce, and has forbidden usury. Whoever, on receiving advice from his Lord, refrains, may keep his past earnings, and his case rests with Allah. But whoever resumes-these are the dwellers of the Fire, wherein they will abide forever.
    2:276 Allah condemns usury, and He blesses charities. Allah does not love any sinful ingrate.
    2:277 Those who believe, and do good deeds, and pray regularly, and give charity-they will have their reward with their Lord; they will have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
    2:278 O you who believe! Fear Allah, and forgo what remains of usury, if you are believers.
    2:279 If you do not, then take notice of a war by Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may keep your capital, neither wronging, nor being wronged.
    2:280 But if he is in hardship, then deferment until a time of ease. But to remit it as charity is better for you, if you only knew."
    Nisa 4:161 And for their taking usury, although they were forbidden it; and for their consuming people's wealth dishonestly. We have prepared for the faithless among them a painful torment
    Rum 30:39 The usury you practice, seeking thereby to multiply people’s wealth, will not multiply with Allah. But what you give in charity, desiring Allah’s approval-these are the multipliers.
    1st thing is RIBA is not INTEREST. RIBA is USURY.. What is USURY? USURY is: collecting excessive from borrower despite of hardship. In Quran Allah said to lender who gives money that do feed on RIBA (taking excessive, compound over compound). This is because it puts the borrower in hardship and it is injustice to the person.. Allah did not say as borrower you can not take loan from anyone in exchange of profit/interest/gains. All the warning in Quran is for the loan provider not the the loan taker. If the borrower takes loan from today's banking system with 5-10% interest to buy a property or invest in business from where borrower will make profit and pay off the interest (bank's profit) over the next few month or years. In that case Lender which is a bank is not doing injustice to the borrower rather borrower is making much more than paying the bank's interest. As for business investment, if all of sudden the borrower faces loss or unable to pay the interest/bank's profit on time and bank does not give the person enough time or keep compounding the interest every month.. in that case, that Bank is involved in RIBA/USURY (excessive) practice which is Haram and Allah will punish those decision maker of the bank who imposed the hardship on borrower for exploiting.. Allah will not punish the borrower who is victim in that case..
    We find in today's modern banking many banks writes off their interest on borrower's hardship and collect only principal, re schedule the loan not imposing compounding interest etc. As for property investment, borrower hardly lose any money on the investment as we all know in today's world property value raises with inflation over the period from minimum 5% a year to 20% year. The bank gives a percentage of the value as loan to buy the property and provides 5 year to 25 years to payoff the loan with interest/profits as per borrower's request. Bank may put a variable interest or fixed for certain period. Over the years when property value increases and borrower finds amount of equity in the property (gains) has increased while bank loan has decreased and eventually become the owner of the property. However, if the borrower decides to sell the property and take the profit where bank get it's portion of settled interest/profit on the disposition. It is clearly the borrower has gained from the investment. Therefore, there is no RIBA/USURY terms involved in this kind of transactions.
