kidneydude1 I’m going to Comiket next year 2020, any tips? Also how long will I have to be there to fully enjoy it? I’m trying to see if I need to tell my older dad to stay at the hotel while I go.
@@hinatauzmaki So you have to purchase a wristband either at the door or before the event. It's no longer free to attend, unfortunately. I would recommend getting your wristband early so that you're not waiting as long in line. (Not entirely sure how wristbands work, since I haven't gone since the wristbands came) Unless you NEED to get that one thing from your one favorite artist of the day, I would wait to go until about noon. The lines will be much shorter to get in, and you won't have to fight to get around. Plenty of space for comics and cosplay. Which reminds me, DO NOT GO IN COSPLAY. It's not acceptable to walk around Tokyo in cosplay. Plus, it costs money to cosplay (1,000 yen if I remember correctly, and there's plenty of changing areas) and you can only really do it outside. Sorry I can't be completely helpful, but I hope it works. Comiket is absolutely worth the trip to Tokyo!
I attended "Anime NYC" and getting around was pretty much like this. I recall looking up all the stuff being sold days ahead with my friends, researching the artists on their website/deviantart, and locating them on a blown up recreation of the panels. I then devised a plan with my buddy on what we'd buy, how much it should cost, and where to meet up at what time. I got my roller stand ready to put art in, and went to town. Additional suggestions: Fully charged TWO external charger sources. I took tons of videos on my phone, and by the time I was done I had completely depleted my battery TWICE! I hooking it up to charge a third time just to find the train station and go home. I had an arsenal of things at the ready, including: Food/snacks, medical supplies like upset stomach pills and sickness masks (I gave out most of mine to other attendees, lol), deodorant spray and clean linen fragrance oil (to put on the mask so I wouldn't have to smell people), and finally a bunch of drinks like aloe or bottled water. It was crazy how prepared you need to be in order to avoid problems. The haul, however, was worth it.
This episode was my guide to my first comiket experience.... and it was 100% accurate down to the being carried to the wrong part of the building from the one way system... :p
I've been to Summer Comiket. It's extremely crowded and extremely hot, and it's very easy to get pushed around by the crowd of people. You should form a plan of attack like Konata does to get your shopping done fast, as the circles have limited print runs.
When I watched Lucky Syar for the first time I hadn't watched Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu yet, now that I did I'm laughing my ass of with this and the café scene. xd
Me and my Japanese teacher were talking about manga and doujinshi and she brought up Comiket which reminded me of this clip so I sent her it and we both agreed Konata sounds like shes planning a war lol
Here we are. Cons are crazy, lemme tell ya. Saturdays are the worst days to go, Sundays are good if you want good stuff at lower prices, Fridays are good if you just want the experience without the insanity. Comic Con 5 times, Hyper Japan once. Cons are great. Wonder if I can go to London on the 27th. Charles Marinet is going to be there.
Anime conventions are fun, apart from it being crowded every now and then. But that's if you're NOT in Japan. that battle plan Konata has? That's not just an efficiency strategy, that's a SURVIVAL strategy!
I've been to San Diego Comic-Con for 4 days, and that place is hell too. I've spent $175, and it was all worth it. The crowds are relentless and it doesn't help that the temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit. On top of it all, Comic-Con is kinda similar to Comicket, just Westernized. There are western comic book heroes as well as anime characters. Any sort of convention is worth the go!
3:40 Now I really wanna know what that Rush! Rush! Rush! Doujin is about. Apparently all we know is that it has a concert scene and its iffy. I wonder if a fan made an actual manga about it online somewhere...
lol I actually didn't know Comiket was ever held anywhere except Ariake. it's still there to this day, prob cuz of how big Tokyo Big Site is. I havent gone to Comiket but I was at Big Site for EVO Japan this year, and they fit it entirely in one of the lower buildings. Big site is so big you could definitely have several smaller conventions there at the same time, I wonder if Comiket is actually so big that it fill sthe entire site, if so thats pretty massive for a convention
@cwflunachloe12 I've been to an anime con before. My god... You dont know how fun it is. You meet voice acters, anime , art book, import games, collectibles as far as the eye can see. You end up playing "I spy" with the cosplayers. Its fucking heaven! ^^ So much fun~~
lmao I forgot that most of the female background characters had the same old lady voice. Lucky Star is so timeless.
Both female an male background characters have that voice lol.
it's a transgender voice
The middle-aged lady is in fact the voice actor of Orochimaru of Naruto.

As someone who's been to Comiket three times, and plans to go back in the future, this is very accurate.
