Jay Smith yeah but like who doesn't want another clannad ? Clannad was (in my own personal opinion) great, it really showed the best parts of love and loss and there's not many animes, no shows,movies and series that do that. I think it would be great but it's very unlikely to happen
It's very sad, but also very touching. It shows how much Sojiro and Kanata loved each other. Despite not being there, Sojiro carried on with caring for Konota, and being the best parent he could. That is being a devoted husband, and devoted father. That's something that can't change...ever.

Even if he may be a bit too close to her at times, you can really see the loving relationship between father and daughter. Kanata was as lucky to have Sojiro as Sojiro was to have Kanata, and Konata is as lucky to have Sojiro as he is to have Konata.

Love Live too was initially supposed to allow me some recovery. "Recovery my ass" as the idiom goes. And here again. (Akira Kogami's arc too has some, well, intense moments, right?)

other animes don't make me cry because most of the characters are too perfect, but this shows the good and bad of the characters and the acceptance of that.
The final shot of the house is what got me.... After everything that happened, after the tragedy that struck, this family was able to stick together and be happy... This is why I love KyoAni. This is why KyoAni was, still is, and always will be the best studio in the industry. I hope that after the tragedy that happened recently, KyoAni can rebuild as a family, just like Konata's family did. Thank you, KyoAni. Thank you for everything. ;-;

Since I've watched Lucky Star when I was still a child I forgot so many scenes, after already leaving school and never having a chance of love and being a weirdo without many friends I honestly thought that I would have no chance at love at all, that I was destined at being alone because I am too weird for other people to like me, but honestly this scene re-awakened a feeling in me, that there might really exist someone who will love me because I love them
My dad told me that when I was around the age of 2, my mother had a sudden heart attack, where she died moments later. I grew up without a mom, and I also have no siblings. My father became an alcoholic when I was about 5 years old, but now he's been getting help and got better. It's not a wonder that I straight out cried on this episode.
You are an incredibly strong person for having lived through this, this journey have made you strong, so be proud of yourself. I've lived through a very similar life, but it also made me strong. Big hugs to you.
The characters arent overly perfect and unrelatable, but quite the opposite with their flaws but relatablility. Makes this scene much more touching and emotional despite being a comedy, and while i didnt understand it when i first watched it as a child, its a whole different story 10 years later
This is what true love really is. Accepting someone for their best and worst parts because you know you both have a sacred bond that cant be replicated. I also lost my mom so this was a very heart-wrenching scene. I really hope I can have a relationship as beautiful as Sojira and Kanata's.

I watched this anime long ago when a friend introduced me to it. I was still a preteen/ teen and this scene didn't make me cry or feel emotional. Now at 25 i found the love of my life who is very similar to Konata's dad so this scene had way more weight to it and made my cry hard. 💙thank you kyoani
Konata 's eyes have two positions: half-closed, or completely closed. This is because it's actually painful to open her eyes, even halfway. She often has to close her eyes to give herself some relief. This is why her eyes never open completely, because it would be unbearably painful. This is one of the unfortunate effects of her mother's illness, the other being her Cat Smile. It's not naturally like that, it just really hurts to put her mouth in a more normal position. Konata lives in a lot of pain each day, using anime, manga, and games to distract herself from what she feels is an empty, hopeless existence. She has never told any of her friends because she doesn't want to feel like a burden to them. If she were to tell her friends, they wouldn't see her as a burden, but a helpless soul in dire need of assistance. Kagami would be the most affected, since this would be a wake-up call. All the times Konata was acting immature and lazy weren't because she was immature and lazy, it was a facade to hide her pain, and that all the times Kagami got angry at her were hardly warranted. Thus, Kagami changes, going from Tsundere to a supportive friend who feels the need to help and protect Konata.
Lucky Star's characters are very interesting. I really want to see a reinterpretation of this series. But one that's a little bit more serious. I think that it would be very interesting.
There's a possibility that Sou actually developed his attraction toward petite girls _because_ of Kanata. Remember, they were childhood friends, and Sou may have already been in love with her by then.

Isn't this the future humanity should strive for? Not space travel, not great empires spanning seas lightyears, not even finding the mysteries of the universe, but the complete and total coexistence of humans amongst one another. Accepting the bad parts, the good parts, showing the bad parts, the good parts, making each other feel at ease. I've been thinking for a while now, that humans won't get better through technology, or economy, or the social or financial circumstances we're born into or anything material, we have to get better spiritually. If we all valued laughter and happiness like Konata, Kanata and Sou did, would we not be more at peace? Not glamour or glory, but family, bond and peaceful activities like gaming. If we acted kindly, acted generously, with some sacrifice, and with a little harmony and empathy, wouldn't we be at more peace? I'm not saying this in a hedonistic way, Konata still manages to get her schoolwork in order, Kuroi may game with Konata but she never let's Konata slack off and as far as I know Konata only minds real life being brought into MMORPGs. Konata doesn't like education more than us but she isn't going to spit into the face of it. If the entire world lived with the same sentiments as Konata, Kanata and Sou, would we not be happier? Work hard, do what we have to, get a job (one that you enjoy), look after the ones you love and cherish them and let loose when you get the time. I don't live all the way truly like this, but I want to strive for it. I think I will.
I have finished this anime quite a while ago and even after all this time, this scene still hits me deep. although this is one of the very few serious scenes in the show, it is still one of my top most memorable ones ever. Awesome

Not space travel, not great empires spanning seas lightyears, not even finding the mysteries of the universe, but the complete and total coexistence of humans amongst one another. Accepting the bad parts, the good parts, showing the bad parts, the good parts, making each other feel at ease. I've been thinking for a while now, that humans won't get better through technology, or economy, or the social or financial circumstances we're born into or anything material, we have to get better spiritually. If we all valued laughter and happiness like Konata, Kanata and Sou did, would we not be more at peace? Not glamour or glory, but family, bond and peaceful activities like gaming. If we acted kindly, acted generously, with some sacrifice, and with a little harmony and empathy, wouldn't we be at more peace? I'm not saying this in a hedonistic way, Konata still manages to get her schoolwork in order, Kuroi may game with Konata but she never let's Konata slack off and as far as I know Konata only minds real life being brought into MMORPGs. Konata doesn't like education more than us but she isn't going to spit into the face of it. If the entire world lived with the same sentiments as Konata, Kanata and Sou, would we not be happier? Work hard, do what we have to, get a job (one that you enjoy), look after the ones you love and cherish them and let loose when you get the time.
I don't live all the way truly like this, but I want to strive for it. I think I will.

I have finished this anime quite a while ago and even after all this time, this scene still hits me deep. although this is one of the very few serious scenes in the show, it is still one of my top most memorable ones ever.

God, no matter how many times I watch this scene, whether it be dubbed or with subtitles, I always get the chills right around 2:35. This is one the most memorable scenes from any slice of life I've ever watched
I miss this animes, you can see the passion and effort they put in this, just this scene is more powerful than an entire anime of this present days.
