The important part about this scene is that it was 50% original from Kyoto Animation, this did happen in the manga, but the slow pace and the flashbacks were all from Kyoto Animation. Man, I love Kyoto Animation so much.
What do yall mean by that? Are you saying KyoAni made this episode/scene by their own volition or in their own way? And not because the Author told them to do this or something?

i love how this moment kinda humanizes konata's dad more-- he's got strange proclivities to be sure but he's a loving husband and father and seems like a genuinely kind dude underneath all the otaku weirdness. it also makes the ways konata takes after them both particularly endearing...she grew up surrounded by love and didn't get shamed for her hobbies and that's very sweet to think about

6:17 How to tell a sad yet beautiful story in five seconds and three scenes with no words. First scene, they're about to have a fun time at the beach. This is likely one of their first dates together. Then it's clearly later in the day and they're heading out while Kanata is holding a napkin over her mouth, indicating her illness is getting to her. Soujirou is looking on at her in concern. It's implied that Kanata pushed herself because she wanted to enjoy this beautiful moment with Soujirou but Soujirou would rather she didn't push herself so hard with her health being what it is. Then they're heading home, Kanata falling asleep on Soujirou's shoulder. Despite it their day at the beach being mired by Kanata's chronic illness, it was still a good day and the two are still very close and very much in love.
Watching this reminds me that Lucky Star was released 14 years ago. It was one of the earliest animes I watched. I was still 6 years old back then and never really understood the story and just enjoy the comedy, and now this video brings out another side I've never known. Im just really grateful that it captivated me and led me into enjoying anime. I spent most of the eventful moments in my life, both happy and sad, accompanied by anime. They are memories I would never want to forget. And Im also grateful that I came across this video today, and reminds of those pleasant memories. Definitely would want to rewatch this anime.
Lucky star was a starting trend of the moe blob slice of life anime . Lucky start did it best, but for a while everything else that followed was just bad. And I was in my mid 20sback then. On my most recent rewatch, I really took notice of the flashback sequences, and how pivotal they really are despite being so short. What do they show? Soujiro and Kanata walking together, eating lunch, sitting in class, going to the beach, stopping in at book/anime stores, just enjoying each others time together. 8 minutes, no, even less than 8 minutes is enough to show how much this man loves his wife so much. And could you even imagine how much pain he suffered when he lost her.
5:58 this face alone with the words "i was the one who loved Kanata most in this world" Is already enough, he is smiling and confident about his statement but you get the feeling that he is missing her lots
As a person who recently lost his mother, that scene makes me cry, but, somehow, it cheers me up too. That's why Lucky Star is one of the best animes I've ever seen.
Everytime I come back to this video it's 2010 again, there's just so many beautiful feelings it makes me feel so overwhelmed and process all the stuff that happened in my life since the first time I watched, it's just truly touching and inspirational.
When I first heard of this anime I was like “meh, it’s just a plain overhyped slice of life.” But this scene has convinced me to actually watch it seriously. The humor is top notch and the fact that they can work a serious scene into it seamlessly is amazing. I can’t wait to start after I finish Parasyte: The Maxim.

wow that was a very wholesome and genuine scene. it felt realistic and sad throughout and ended on a light, funny tone to carry on the good times. but never forgetting the people we love. i always thought of lucky star as a-fool-around, geek anime. but even in lucky star, people are still struggling and prevailing.
Lucky star used to be my favorite anime back then. I still fondly remember how I watched this anime so many times, the daily life moments portrayed never got old for me. This scene also came out of nowhere in the anime, usually it has more relaxed and funny scenes. glad youtube recommended this to me. Nostalgia hitting me in the feels
this really encapsulates that frase that says " when sad anime get sad vs. when comedy anime get sad" its a beautiful scene from times when anime were better
It happened again, it got reccomended after a couple of years, so ladies, gentlemen and all the others, lets gather together and enjoy this masterpiece of a scene and cry and smile on equal parts.
This scene caught me off guard. After this lucky star became one of my favorites ever. Can't wait to rewatch it!!! Also gotta feel for the dad. The line of "the more I hold you, the more you remind me of your mother" just shows his loneliness and justifies his clingyness. He's a good strong dad.

This just reminded me that one scene where Konata gets all Ara ara and gentle and when the twins tried to imagine what she’d look like all proper they were basically just imagining Konata’s mom
Y'all should be grateful this guy downloaded a whole episode of the anime in 480p and made a clip of it and posted it in 480p with a 3G internet from 2009
Man few things can actually bring me to tears but this utterly destroyed me out of nowhere
Same here man, same here.
Start of the video: Oh this looks cute
Halfway in.... O.O.... oh..... oh.
The end: *sniffs and pounding fists on the table in emotional conflict*
*FOSTS*
ロリの話から急に感動的な話になると思ってなかったよね…

Rest in peace Kyoto animation
Bloody love this anime. The fact that the Mother is there watching over her husband and daughter and watching them play around is just wholesome.
Seeing this after a while took a different tone for me, since my mother passed away 2 months ago, it still hurts, and I miss her a lot.
My most sincere condolences. May she rest in piece. And do know that she's still with you.

8 minutes, no, even less than 8 minutes is enough to show how much this man loves his wife so much. And could you even imagine how much pain he suffered when he lost her.
5:58 this face alone with the words "i was the one who loved Kanata most in this world"
Is already enough, he is smiling and confident about his statement but you get the feeling that he is missing her lots
I didn't even seen this anime, why am I crying so much and feel so nostalgic?!?!
このシーンは目から汗がじんわりくる
As a person who recently lost his mother, that scene makes me cry, but, somehow, it cheers me up too.
That's why Lucky Star is one of the best animes I've ever seen.
この話ほんとに泣ける😢✨リアルタイムで観て感動したよ
もう、こんな素敵な感性の作品は見られないと思うと泣けるな…
Kanata managed to make me cry with less than 10 mins of screen time.

"Watch Lucky Star" they said
"It's funny" they said
xxxLoliLewder AgeIsJustANumber they said it’s a comedy!
Right ??! Just watching this made me feel really sad i can't imagine watching another clannad.
well you need something cute and heartwarming as palate cleanse, i recommend Puella Magi Madoka Magica
@@khhnator tbh Madoka wasn't even that "Wow" because the fact that it was pretty fucked up was easily understandable since the 1st episode imo.
It's just a comedy they said, and then they made me cry
この話まじで好きすぎる。自分が非行に走らない理由でもある

Everytime I come back to this video it's 2010 again, there's just so many beautiful feelings it makes me feel so overwhelmed and process all the stuff that happened in my life since the first time I watched, it's just truly touching and inspirational.
STOP MAKING ME CRY IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS AND JUST- THIS SCENE I- STOP ;------;
I don’t know why, but this scene gets WAY too close to bringing me to tears
これほどの素敵なアニメをありがとう!美水かがみさん本当にありがとう!
RIP, Yasuhiro Takemoto. Thank you for this masterpiece of a show.
Over ten years later and this still give me goosebumps
When I first heard of this anime I was like “meh, it’s just a plain overhyped slice of life.” But this scene has convinced me to actually watch it seriously. The humor is top notch and the fact that they can work a serious scene into it seamlessly is amazing. I can’t wait to start after I finish Parasyte: The Maxim.
Parasyte and Lucky Star
my boi you are cultured
いやぁ〜、一番このシーンが感動した!
最後は心霊写真だけどね~( ̄▽ ̄;)
I want to watch an anime about Konata's parents
It would be like clannand
Try clannad
Try Clannad.
Just with the child being an otaku.

@@索蘭婭 shhhhh, let them find out for themselves
Gawd damn it, I just woke up, in the morning to seeing this recommended now my everything hurts... that was too friggin cute and it just gets worse when the nostalgia also kicks in reminding me of the past >.
wow that was a very wholesome and genuine scene. it felt realistic and sad throughout and ended on a light, funny tone to carry on the good times. but never forgetting the people we love.
i always thought of lucky star as a-fool-around, geek anime. but even in lucky star, people are still struggling and prevailing.
You're a real one for still having the konata pfp!
This was the moment that every laughter was suddenly rip from my heart and tears started to fall.
Watch it and you'll cry laughing they said.
at the first episode, I was like "they're had a weird conversation" and then it goes "damn, no mom 😞"
they were right about the crying part..
10 years later and I’m still crying
This scene never gets old, it makes me cry everytime I watch it
コスモスのシーン綺麗
ほんとに10年前の作品に見えないよね
4:41 非行に走っちゃダメよとか言ってるけど、絶対にそうはならないと確信してる眼差しが好き
The shrine they have for her is very sweet. Pulls on the strings of my heart
It's been Years... this still warms my heart and tears me up a bit, but makes me laugh at the same time.
I feel so... yea. That’s a great scene, thank you for uploading it.
Tbh they deserve their own seperate series❤
The most comedic series with a innocent past. I shed a tear while watching this.
any scenes about parents passing and such always hit my feels man ;;
Jesus Christ. I thought Lucky Star was just a silly slice of life anime. When I clicked on this clip, I did not expect to be brought to tears.
this really encapsulates that frase that says
" when sad anime get sad vs. when comedy anime get sad"
its a beautiful scene from times when anime were better
After 7 years and it's still touch my feelings..
I have never seen a single episode of this anime besides this one scene and now I want to watch it all just because of this
Man, i miss this show. Honestly cant believe how old it is.
It happened again, it got reccomended after a couple of years, so ladies, gentlemen and all the others, lets gather together and enjoy this masterpiece of a scene and cry and smile on equal parts.
Bro as much as I like lucky star, I 100% wish this could be what the entire show was about
This scene caught me off guard. After this lucky star became one of my favorites ever. Can't wait to rewatch it!!!
Also gotta feel for the dad. The line of "the more I hold you, the more you remind me of your mother" just shows his loneliness and justifies his clingyness. He's a good strong dad.
It's been 14 years since I first watched this anime. I still think about this scene sometimes.
The music has never left me.
That was one of the sweetest things I've seen in any anime for a long time.
This video was popping up in my recommendation for last 2 years. Never bothered to check it out. checked it out today. Its actually really good anime.
This scene always hits me with a pang of nostalgia and sadness even after so many years has passed since the last time i watched it.
