I was really surprise Souness said not world class given his standard comment that world class means you can play anywhere. Guy played for 4 of the biggest clubs in the world! The MLS is the only time you could argue he slummed it, but he got awarded an ownership stake in a club for that so it's hard to argue he shouldn't have done that given what the valuation is on MLS franchises.
Being a good judge of a player has never been souness's strong point. Paul stewart, Julian dicks, Dean saunders, don Hutchinson, etc etc are perfect examples of this.
