Teorien bak koden er at man har omdreiningene til bremsen eller motoren inn i en mikrokontroller og at den øker/minsker trykket basert på turtallsendringen ved x bremsetrykk. På den måten kan man lage ulike moduser for hvordan belaster motoren. Man kan også eventuelt legge inn en servostyring for gassen, så den gasser slik man ønsker automatisk. Nå veit ikke jeg om dette ga noe mening, men håper det kanskje gir deg en liten idé:) Totalt vil nok dette koste under 1000,- å lage. Takk for videoene! Eh, dropped support last year after the lengthy and frequent drop outs. I get up and work 10-16 hours in the field on heavy equipment 5-6 days a week. If I have to work for my food money, he has to work for my content money. Basically has dropped down to doing maybe 2 full days worth of work per weekly vid. Just doesn't cut it for me. Especially when 10% of the video is an ad read. I'll keep watching and might pick support back up if full effort regular uploads start back again.
Watching your channel is NOT about a result, but the way you are taking to get there. I enjoy every little misstep and smallest success equally as the way you are presenting your progress in this very special format makes me love watching every single episode. You could also change the brake master cylinder for one with a smaller diameter piston. The piston size is usually cast into the mc body. I was going to suggest changing the lever ratio, by moving the fulcrum/ pivot point closer to the piston, but I’m unsure how you could do it.
I watched your channel regularly a couple of years ago. Then I had my doubts and I watch it maybe once every 6 months. Progress? Is there any? Yes, a nice video format, but not much else. Maybe I should check again in a year or two.
Good job ,it sounds crisp like your a little lean for a break in period. They sell in line thermostat housings but I'm sure you could make one with all the tooling you have. Two strokes like some heat to close up the tolerances , you won't crystalize the surfaces for break in without some proper heat in there. I like to run about 10 heat cycles on a new engine before give it any real abuse. Running a little rich during this time helps the parts get used to each other and keeps plenty of oil between the parts as they create "their" new tolerance for eachother. Without enough heat the parts will crystalize the surface without effecting the core of the parts. After heat up and cool down cycles I give it a new plug and then jet for power. I'm too poor to give you money but good advice will save you a fortune.
I have same plan for Brake dyno for my engines I have Briggs v-twin 480cc and small 49cc from my moped. I want to add pressure for calipper with bolt or something with consistent pressure because, using hand cant be consistent at all. My second idea is using hydraulic pump and measuring pressure and flow of oil. There can be anything, for ex. used engine oil from gasoline car. offcourse using filter before pump. With this system, you can tuning you engine for long time because dont get red hot after few runs. Also hot pads brake differend.
I've noticed that about some 2 strokes that they seem not to be able to handle going without a load. But since I don't run or tune them, I have never really dug into what causes this. I do know that without proper loading on the cylinder, it somewhat becomes like an un-crimped shotgun shell though. As in it will lose all its pressure before it can get a good burn, and this leads to unburned propellant spewing out the end. Could be the same thing. Could be that without some pressure to hold the combustion at its peak combustive pressure, the fuel may not want to burn completely for some reason, and that may lead to it surging, or stuttering.

I just like to see the journey, I'm currently building and engine myself to make more power, a Volvo b230/2.5L it's not done in an instant and there is a lot of similarities with the approach that i've had with my engine. i've gone thorugh cycles of mine working, then not working as i want it too, finding the weaknesses or something I'm not happy about and figuring out a solution to it. So this helps a lot with motivation, takk!

Maybe the cutting out under throttle thing could be fuel droplets condensating on the cold surfaces of the crank case and causing misfires when they get blown to the sparkplug. My old moped does a similar thing when cold, but it clears out after it warms up a bit.
I've watched a long time and had a few different youtube accounts.. but man in the engine development world we constantly break,break, and break parts but eventually we figure it out and those ppl that hang onto the idea and fight for it thrive in the end
When hobbies become jobs - it's a huge challenge to make the trasnsition. This is why when a hobbiest - aka a customer comes into a shop - the eagerness to work late and jump through hoops is not there. Resentment builds easily - and you have to find a way to stay passionate about what you do - without letting the job aspect ruin the fun. Utimately - I believe it's discipline that makes the difference. Set a schedule - keep the schedule - and act like you have a boss and job that will fire you off that schedule.
I hope he reads your comment. I think you really hit the nail on the head. It has seemed that his state of mind has been struggling alot since he quit his job. I agree that making a work week schedule to have to follow will help out. Unfortunately when hobbies become jobs the drive to make time for hobbies goes away. I hope he gets it figured out. You're right HP! For a while now I've been thinking that Alex was happier working at his engine development program when he was employed at the kindergarten. At least he could dream about what he was going to do when he got home and into the shop. Now, when he's having a bit of difficulty, he wakes up with "Oh s..., I've gotta do something in the shop this morning...", or some such negative attitude. He might reconsider his current position and look for the security of an outside job.
I was concerned about this happening when I went full time, but it's not what's been going on. I could spend hours explaining, but in short; Somehow got stuck in fight-or-flight mode, resting heartrate constantly at 100+bpm, endless stream of negative thoughts, any attempt at focusing on engine stuff got drowned, struggled to sleep. This went on for months. Was extremely tiring. Luckily I slowly got back on track, still a bit "hungover" from it all. I'm so thankful you guys stuck with me!
Life is hard - we all go through it and I've been there and at times still am. It's hard to relieve stress with a hobby that is a insurmountantable mountain at times. I suggest finding some mindless physical work, such as cutting the grass, or something that requires zero analysis just meanial work. There is something incredible valueable to accomplishing a task you can see you accomplishedthat requires no brain power. I am sure you have a life away from what is shown on yuotube - but if you love riding scooters and motorcyles - and no longer do - get a stock one you can just ride sometimes and leave that one alone...to be ridden whenever you want without headache. We will keep watching - and sooner or later - you will hit on some ideas that work good.@@2STROKESTUFFING

Chasing the dream brother. Theres a whole stack of steps and slopes to hurdle. Motivations a mind killer. Im in the same place but with 3D printers. I have it all ready to rumble but getting the motivation after several lorry driver mind confusing moments with the board control side firmware on a duff so called upgraded control board, It lowers the motivation, I even took it to a shop, who took 6 weeks and 3 different technicians to get it to work (for three prints then it went wrong again) Im not as skilled as them but im learning what doesn't work.... so eventually.... lol. Keep it going bruv.
If the coolant (assuming its just water) takes too long to warm up you could just boil a few kettles and pour that in right? Should give you ~80-90 degree temps to start with.

Have you thought about maybe using a thumb throttle like all atv's use? it might mean that you can have the throttle control and the brake on the same lever and still only use one hand to control them both.
Try heating the jug some, and put the pieces you made into the freezer. Between the expansion of the jug, and the inserts shrinkage you should have no problem fitting them inside the transfers PS Have you ever taken into consideration that the engine is fully coming up to optimal temperature as far as activity checking the temperature while running at speed?
instead of a twist throttle wouldn't it be better to to make the brake lever one a lever to control throttle? that would/could free up a hand. also, would adding air to the brake line make it have a little less aggressive onset? chain didn't look happy when the engine was running.

Need to make a knob on a threaded rod to push the master cylinder. With a half nut for quick release. Yoy you can just turn the knob to get a consistent load on the break. Yes, lots of work when the end goal is a water break. But whats another side project. Without consistency, the load cell will be all over the place. Sorry about the financial stress. I bet it's overwhelming at times and then what yoy say is lack of forward movement adds even more. I know like most of us, we are with you. Just keep moving. We are all here because of 2 stokes and you. So stay at it.
You might put a little air in that brake line to make it less sensitive. I've heard of Motorcycle racers doing that to their back brakes. Doesn't cost anything to try.
Quite right! I used a similar set up on my 50cc test engine. Once the brake pads heated up they began to snatch. Spraying WD40 onto the pads stopped the snatching, considerably more pressure was needed though.
Mabye running a normal cooling system from like a Derbi 125 with a termostat etc would be better. At least from my experience working alot on mopeds, cold engines never behaves "normally"
Why don't you use a Temperatur control device like on motorcylces or cars? So that you have 2 coolent rings on small one (only cylinder is heating) and when it get's warm it opens up the big one to let all of the coolant cirle through the engine
When I used a similar system to this with my tuned 50cc test engine I spayed WD40 onto the brake pads to over come some of the fiction. More pressure was needed but it helped alleviate the snatching when the brake pads got hot under high pressure. It would be beneficial to run the disc in water but not practical.

Use a threaded rod and a nut or something similar to actuate the brake master piston. The finer the thread pitch the better it will be. Good luck!

This is why when a hobbiest - aka a customer comes into a shop - the eagerness to work late and jump through hoops is not there. Resentment builds easily - and you have to find a way to stay passionate about what you do - without letting the job aspect ruin the fun. Utimately - I believe it's discipline that makes the difference. Set a schedule - keep the schedule - and act like you have a boss and job that will fire you off that schedule.
I hope he reads your comment. I think you really hit the nail on the head. It has seemed that his state of mind has been struggling alot since he quit his job. I agree that making a work week schedule to have to follow will help out. Unfortunately when hobbies become jobs the drive to make time for hobbies goes away. I hope he gets it figured out. I miss the excited 2 stroke stuffing.
You're right HP! For a while now I've been thinking that Alex was happier working at his engine development program when he was employed at the kindergarten. At least he could dream about what he was going to do when he got home and into the shop. Now, when he's having a bit of difficulty, he wakes up with "Oh s..., I've gotta do something in the shop this morning...", or some such negative attitude. He might reconsider his current position and look for the security of an outside job.
I was concerned about this happening when I went full time, but it's not what's been going on. I could spend hours explaining, but in short; Somehow got stuck in fight-or-flight mode, resting heartrate constantly at 100+bpm, endless stream of negative thoughts, any attempt at focusing on engine stuff got drowned, struggled to sleep. This went on for months. Was extremely tiring. Luckily I slowly got back on track, still a bit "hungover" from it all.

Life is hard - we all go through it and I've been there and at times still am. It's hard to relieve stress with a hobby that is a insurmountantable mountain at times. I suggest finding some mindless physical work, such as cutting the grass, or something that requires zero analysis just meanial work. There is something incredible valueable to accomplishing a task you can see you accomplishedthat requires no brain power. I am sure you have a life away from what is shown on yuotube - but if you love riding scooters and motorcyles - and no longer do - get a stock one you can just ride sometimes and leave that one alone...to be ridden whenever you want without headache. We will keep watching - and sooner or later - you will hit on some ideas that work good.@@2STROKESTUFFING

Chasing the dream brother. Theres a whole stack of steps and slopes to hurdle. Motivations a mind killer. Im in the same place but with 3D printers. I have it all ready to rumble but getting the motivation after several lorry driver mind confusing moments with the board control side firmware on a duff so called upgraded control board, It lowers the motivation, I even took it to a shop, who took 6 weeks and 3 different technicians to get it to work (for three prints then it went wrong again) Im not as skilled as them but im learning what doesn't work.... so eventually.... lol. Keep it going bruv.

If the coolant (assuming its just water) takes too long to warm up you could just boil a few kettles and pour that in right? Should give you ~80-90 degree temps to start with.

RC servos and a transmitter+receiver would be a great way to control the throttle and brake
It's just the time of year, just surviving the winter is no mean feat. We just take it for granted, but just imagine you lived in a gama or a Lavo. I think a lot of Norwegians work too hard in the winter and get depressed when spring starts to rise and they haven't got energy like nature has. Have you thought about maybe using a thumb throttle like all atv's use? it might mean that you can have the throttle control and the brake on the same lever and still only use one hand to control them both.

Try heating the jug some, and put the pieces you made into the freezer.
Between the expansion of the jug, and the inserts shrinkage you should have no problem fitting them inside the transfers

instead of a twist throttle wouldn't it be better to to make the brake lever one a lever to control throttle? that would/could free up a hand. also, would adding air to the brake line make it have a little less aggressive onset? chain didn't look happy when the engine was running.

I don’t know what the future has in store for this engine, but the “Supercharged Nitro Methane 50cc Two-Stroke” title of an older video hooked me and I hope to see the return of forced induction (perhaps adding a turbo to recover losses from the SC like some of the auto racing folks do) and nitro methane some day.

I have read every comment on this and about two dozen other vids of yours and I can see that support for your project outweighs the comments by sorry bastards with nothing better to do than criticize by orders of magnitude. The idle sounds quite a bit healthier.
Need to make a knob on a threaded rod to push the master cylinder. With a half nut for quick release. Yoy you can just turn the knob to get a consistent load on the break.
Yes, lots of work when the end goal is a water break. But whats another side project. Without consistency, the load cell will be all over the place.

You might put a little air in that brake line to make it less sensitive. I've heard of Motorcycle racers doing that to their back brakes. Doesn't cost anything to try.
Quite right! I used a similar set up on my 50cc test engine. Once the brake pads heated up they began to snatch. Spraying WD40 onto the pads stopped the snatching, considerably more pressure was needed though.
use your foot to actuate the brake lever
Mabye running a normal cooling system from like a Derbi 125 with a termostat etc would be better. At least from my experience working alot on mopeds, cold engines never behaves "normally"

Why don't you use a Temperatur control device like on motorcylces or cars? So that you have 2 coolent rings on small one (only cylinder is heating) and when it get's warm it opens up the big one to let all of the coolant cirle through the engine

Maybe a long knee or foot controlled brake lever to free your hands and reduce the braking sensitivity could be a temporary and cheap solution.
When I used a similar system to this with my tuned 50cc test engine I spayed WD40 onto the brake pads to over come some of the fiction. More pressure was needed but it helped alleviate the snatching when the brake pads got hot under high pressure.
It would be beneficial to run the disc in water but not practical.
