Excellent! I'm so happy that more people are talking about colorism and how it effects darker skin people in their day to day life. First, we need awareness to change behaviors. Great job, Amaya! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@@rochellecobb1944 No it doesn't you feel, feel is not accurate enough you have to use knowledge and wisdom not emotions!!! This Society allows Women to pick and choose. If I wanted a woman I would have to ask her right???? Right???
Genes are a lot more complicated than that! Just because you marry a lighter-skinned, doesn't all your kids are going to be light-skinned! They might be dark-skinned too.
It’s not too much to ask people to observe WHY they are attracted to things. Sometimes if we dig deeper into the things we are raised to believe/are taught and accepted my society at large we realize there are unconscious biases. So, it’s not really as simple as ‘who we are just attracted to’ when it comes to colorism
So white racism against blacks leads to colorism? Isn't it the other way around? Fear of darkness is primal in all humans, and maybe its the language associating darkness with badness that has taken advantage of this inate tendency and hurt our melanin-rich neighbors. No one wants to discuss this possibility, even my white colleagues. As long as they can appeal to the ether of systemic/structural causes beyond themselves, they can deflect and protect the colorism within themselves. I hope to place spotlight on colorism, including that within myself, rather than cast my dark-skinned neighbors into the shadows.
I think this can also be attributed back to tribalism, you dont look like me therefore you arent of my tribe so i am now against you. Good T-talk very insightful
Oboy.. you're a beautiful honey brown and while that's a nice physical feature, more importantly you're a Hebrew Isrealite,of a royal priesthood ordained by the Most High, your peers suffice to say will be either your subject or your progeny's subjects, yes it's true and although while in this society, you just want to fit...mark my words as they are prophecy ..you will walk in a Devine royalty,Megan Markel ain't got nothin on you nun.
I think colorism is really a sign of our beauty standards as a people. I don't even think it's based off race or colonization. For some reason Asians really prefer light skin. With South America it's actually broad. Africa in theory should not have this problem with more development. The beauty standards are set by the continent you reside in.

It only really effects Men Darkskin men because women have the choice to pick and choose who they decide to date or have children with.

Do we really not want to be able to freely admit what we are naturally attracted to. Without fear of reproach??

I think men biologically and evolutionarily prefer lighter-skinned women. Just my opinion.
