love your prospective on learning and also on the CEH itself. great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
If only HR evaluated candidates based on simulation tests instead of whether one has a worthless piece of paper. Unfortunately HR is the filter into the company so if they want CEH and you have a more respected cert like OSCP, you are not getting through those doors.
If HR let somebody with CEH but not the one with OSCP, they should be fired😂

What if they have both certs?
Very dope studying tips reminds me of some of the stuff they taught us at my old school for dyslexics
Great advice especially the part about being able to explain it to a child. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
wish I saw this before I signed up and did all the work. Coming up on my test in 3 weeks.
Ah well, still will be a plus on my resume.
Great advice! Big picture to more detailed information approach on each CEH blueprint topic saved time. Don't waste time reading guides or reading slides cover to cover. Make notecards on topics you don't know as well. Practice with notecards and Boson.
Feynman Technique
Thank you! I'm starting a CEH course tomorrow, will be using these techniques! It helped me pass Security+ in a couple weeks!💖
Best of luck!
did you get it?
There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.....
I think if someone did all CEH lab workbook tasks in iLabs then it is really hands-on and helpful. I did not enjoy cramming part but practical was good. 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing!
Can you elaborate a bit on why not? Security + from what I see does not have the pen testing info that does CEH. Even from a lab perspective two completely different animals. I understand the cost portion, but for a position for pen testing who would a company hire someone with security + or Ceh ?
I think the cost is a big factor. She likely thinks for the cost it is unnecessary, as there are other ways. Which is good to hear.
Can you please share the ammo cards link again? Couldn’t find it
I studied Cognitive Science at UCSD and I can say most of what she says is true with respect to the spacing effect, and retrieval. Unfortunately, I did take that particular class on learning during my last quarter there---changed my entire perspective on education. I am, however, applying it to the CEH. Understanding the concepts out of the book is great (if you can pick up on it), but not so much as doing the CEH labs (which is what the concepts revolve around). According to the CEH rep. (whom my classmate spoke to over the phone) suggested doing the labs twice will increase your chances of success. But nonetheless practice, Practice, PRACTICE.
Yes, interleaving is a useful concept with practicing
Thank you for your opinion.
Always!
@@nicoleenesse I signed up for the ceh to get a recognized credential
Love the painting your working. Acr or oil?
Oh yeah, love the channel
Good video. I started the CEH book 18 days ago and it has already helped me gain more technical skill.
Can you give a little more detail on what does into "scoping the material" when you read the book? You said it would take 4 hours but what exactly are you reading? What are you skipping? Thanks!
Scoping the material is just to get a rough overview of whats going on so you can understand the big picture. I wouldn't spend more than 4 hours trying to figure it out
Hey thanks.
How do you suggests trying to remember all the different hacking and security tools? There are so many!
That was the hardest part! The best way is to actually watch videos on them being used or e ven try to use them yourself.
Currently doing it at WGU because of your videos haha
Yay!!
I was going to take it until I saw your video and other saying the same. I changed gears and passed security + and pentest +
I just passed the sec+ should I look into getting this by self paying?
thanks for the video, but sorry didnt find the links you talked about in the vide?
Agh, which link was it??
Hey can I take CEH if I'm bad at programming languages but I have knowledge about Cybersecurity schould I do it now or not?
You can get better. CEH doesn't have a lot of programming, but knowing how to read code will come in handy
@@nicoleenesse thanks for replying and watched all your videos it's really helpful for people's awesome job and keep uploading videos
How about you get the PDF, and make bookmarks which can be searched, and work through the methods!
That is an amazing idea
Why do you suggest Security+ over CEH? I have yet to take either exam but I took courses for both in college and sadly covid happened right as I finished them so I had to wait to take them. From my perspective on the material, Security+ seems like an introduction for those who have 0 experience in information security while CEH is more advanced. I hesitate to take Security+ because based on cyberseek a lot of candidates have it while few companies are looking for it. If I should not get CEH just because it isn't as credible maybe I should just skip both and go for CISSP or equivalent. I would appreciate some insight into this.
CISSP is REALLY advanced. if you are new to the field, I would not go the CISSP. Security+ will give you really good base knowledge and is great for people with no experience. It will also introduce you to various fields in security+, and from there you can choose which niche you want to go into
You need 5 years commercial experience to be CISSP certified. Taking and passing the exam prior to that will just get you the Associate certification for CISSP.
Security+ is an entry level exam for someone with 0 experience in security whilst CEH is far more technical typically it’s recommended to have 2 years commercial experience before taking it. But yeah CEH is regarded significantly better than COMPTIA security+
CISSP is something any cyber security consultant worth their salt has once they’ve got passed 5 years experience
@@husky980 I have taken both Security+ and CEH and imo they are almost both equally useless. They have the same content and teach very little useful skills. The only thing I got out of either was a little bit about risk management. That was what I was really confused about. I think a beginner would get far more out of CEH even though some might suggest its too "technical". Its bottom of the barrel
I would suggest CCNA instead of CompTIA security +, you will learn both Security and Networking.
Sister,I am studying 1st year bachelors of technology in computer science.at which year should I learn CEH Course in my my degree?.what are required basic languages ,knowledge to learn it .please tell sister
To do CEH you don't need any prior knowledge no language required I am currently enrolled, soon going to appear for exam. If you know networking basic and something about Linux you are good to go
@@shoebuddin4055have you cleared your ceh?
Sooo...you say don't read but How does one gain understanding of concepts without reading the material 🤔
Also version 11 is out which is 4 hours long! I wonder if its more Simulation based versus theory and multiple choice..
Scope the subject by skimming through the book. Don't sit there and read every paragraph and do nothing else
Hey I cannot find the links in the video. Am I the only one?
Edit : Great video!
Was it V11? Did you get base scenario questions ?
I took this for V10.
What would you suggest after Security+ ? CEH or CySA+?
CEH
CySA+ would be the best option and price. CEH is overly expensive and not any more difficult than the CompTIA tests.

Does CEH exam is open camera or not ?
but how do you get free CEH voucher? I agree HR really likes this one. why did you suggest CompTIA Trifecta over CEH?
CompTIA is a great foundation for IT. CEH kind of skips that part and expect you to already know it and CEH is really expensive
First CompTIA security+ is Entry level and CEH is intermediate level cert. If you have CCNA certification its nothing new in CompTIA security +.
in Singapore it is heavily subsidise by the government , so in the end i just paid $500 for the elite CEH which include 4 voucher for the theory and 1 voucher for practical exam
CEH theory AND practical I think has its place in IT certs... don't you think?
I'm actually seeing over 5k pages of material in the CEHv11. How would you 'scope' and know what's important? Though understanding the facts is important, I realized there are many 'fancy' terms they like to use which is a pain in the a** for me to remember and god knows when they gonna test that on the exam or find similar words in exchange to twist your recalling memory(like john the ripper or jack the ripper etc.). I actually prefer CISSP study material over this now.
Yeah, that exam is rough. I went through a video training for CEH on pluralsight to helpme grasp what is going on. CISSP would have better job opportunities with like similiar amounts of studying!!
Cleared it days ago. Hope I'm not too late. You can't scope out 100% but as for having a fair amount of confidence as for what is important, you can ask the candidates who gave about the questions (if you have any) or go through sample questions, as for me, they grilled me in nmap commands, SQL injection types, scenario based questions, how to evade jammer and scrambler attacks
@@rudrochoudhury8522 Thank you for giving us some insight too. I'll be taking the exam this week so I'll see how the exam is going to be like for me.

I have just ^passed compTIA sec + and was thinking to take CEH,- but you say it is not worth it- why - can u make a video why CEH is waste of time
which harder between comtia sec+ and CEH?
hmmmm, CEH is more difficult but both are entry-level certs
What was is like taking the exam? I hear that there are some really strict rules?
I took it online, and it was super annoying. The web cam had to be facing in a certain way, and they made me download all of this software.
@@nicoleenesse What if you don't have an external webcam? Does the person have to buy a separate webcam from the one that is built into the laptop? Is it true that it takes 4 hours, no papers, do food or drink and no bathroom breaks?

How did you get the free voucher? I've also seen everyone recommend the CEH, so why do you not like it?
I went to WGU, which supplied a free voucher. A lot of other programs will also give you a free voucher. In the field it doesn't add much value, except to HR who thinks it sounds cool. The material is really outdated, the test is really expensive, and it isn't really respected once you get into the field. The OSCP is a way better choice if you are looking to go the pentester route.
@@nicoleenesse while I enjoy your content in regards to effective studying, I have to disagree with your dialogue dissuading people from taking this cert. I think it just adds to the frankly ignorant trend of people unjustly bashing ceh.
As with all certs, it is updated on a regular basis to use more up-to-date information. Also, you had a free voucher for it, so why complain about the price? Most importantly, this is not a pentest cert, so to recommend someone take OSCP over this is misguided, since all those tools and concepts will likely be learned in this one, which is a beginner cert geared to demonstrate that you understand the concepts and lingo you would use later on in your security career.
I will never not recommend Security + to anyone, but ceh has its place too. For someone starting out, it will get them past the hr firewall while also giving them a solid base of knowledge of concepts to build on later.
If it helps get someone in the field, it does add value. And the people who don’t “respect” it are likely already successful and seasoned pentesters so, yeah, for them it wouldn’t make much sense. But then, this cert isn’t geared towards them, but beginners. Maybe give pros and cons of certs from now on, instead of condemning them for this reason and that.
@@shaneboltz6534 Thanks for the perspective! I will take not e on the pros/cons instead of condemning
Hello Hitman Thunder: All the best and good luck to you in your pursuit of getting a free voucher for the CEH exam. The voucher is worth about $1,100 ; why would anyone give that to you for free? Yeah, let me know how that works out for you. Hashtag - go get a clue in life
@@richardchang7304 Who hurt you so bad...
This video and another video you made both describe different ways that you say you learned the material for CEH. The other being your review of WGU and you never mention that it’s WGU where you got the free voucher. You stated that you did their curriculum and used ITProTV and their labs as part of your degree. What gives?
I showed CHFI material. I studied CEH before enrolling in WGU to speed on my graduation time so didn't have access to materials
ahhaha the coffee... nice video.

I don’t agree with your pov that should only take it if it’s free. CEH is a baseline cert for many dod security positions.
is ceh and pentester the same ?
yes

I’m going to be honest. Hearing you say don’t take it several times didn’t want me to not take it. Just didn’t make me want to finish the video. Not a diss but maybe explain more so why you feel that way. For me CEH, I want it , just got Security+ and I do agree Security+ does open up more doors than if you get CEH first(just based on the jobs I’ve seen on Indeed and LinkedIn. But next time explain it, it just came off extremely negative.
