- Tommy DiNic’s has been serving its famous roast pork sandwich in Reading Terminal Market since 1977. The sandwich comes with thin-sliced roast pork, sharp provolone, and broccoli rabe and was named the best sandwich in America by "Man v. Food" in 2012. Insider’s Taryn Varricchio headed to DiNic’s to find out why. DiNic’s fourth-generation owners explained how they’ve perfected the roast pork sandwich and why Philadelphians argue it compares (and even trumps) a classic Philly cheesesteak.

I've never heard of this and I am from Cherry Hill, just south of Philly.
Ate there twice in 3 days on a visit to Philly in 2017. They're not lying. Ir's as good as they say it is.
Easily the best sandwich I have ever had. It was an honor to meet Joey and the crew at DiNics, through my cousin, a chef also in Philly, Jasper Alivia, who is also part owner of Nemi in Port Richmond.

Na I used to think that not sure if they changed it or I found better sandwiches I brought my 2 buddy's to try it cause it was one if my favorites but last time I went I was lacking in flavor and I was kind of disappointed go eat an authentic Gyro in Greece nothing compares
I miss living in Philadelphia SOOO much! This sandwich I crave, except instead of broccoli Rabe, its spinach for me.. Extra au just on the side for dippin.. That's Living!! Don't forget the extra sharp provolone, that would be a 4th degree felony!!
I don’t know why I even watch this when I’m no where NEAR this place.... I just make myself suffer.. the closest replica to me is subway, and it’s not even close to this place! I don’t even think I can compare it.

DiNic's is so damn good. Between the fresh roll the sharp provo and the perfectly roasted pork.
I was there on Friday 11/10/23 and I had the beef & my wife had the pork and both were fantastic and the line was 60 people long but it took less than 10 minutes to get our food. BTW: the meatball sandwich also looks great. Don’t forget to grab some Bassett’s Ice Cream while at the Terminal, richest real ice cream in the USA and no crap ie: guar gum or corn fructose mixed in.
I think the roast pork, roast beef (same way with the sharp provolone and rabe) and the meatball grinder are all better than the cheesesteak. Cheesesteaks are fine and being from Philly I still eat them a lot but there are way better sandwiches here. And that’s just on the hot side of things. If you want to go cold then there are a million variations of hoagie of course
The broccoli rabe is a must and if you don’t find seating inside which you probably won’t, just head outside and sit on the curb. Love DiNic’s

So i'm dated a girl from philadelphia and went there many times. I went to all the places and this was by far the best. The gentleman in the video I talked to several times very nice man recommended. I get what I think I would like after talking to him.
He suggested that I get the sandwich in question with the sweet peppers. Try to every which way and the Sandwich with the peppers was better than with the broccoli.. Don't give wrong they're all good in fact. I strongly recommend if you are in the area you go to this place and get anything even a bottle of water l o l

I ate there after roaming around Reading Terminal for an hour undecided on which place to choose, I thought the sandwich was good but, my sandwich looked nowhere near as fat and juicy as the ones I'm seeing here on this video or another video I saw of this place. Also, my sandwich had what I think was spinach instead of this broccol rabe. I guess when the cameras are rolling they make the fat sandwiches.
When you mention spinach, you lose any credibility

I went here right before Corona made travel impossible, and had this same exact sandwich and I was extremely disappointed. The sandwich made me question why is this so highly touted. I couldn't finish it. Before leaving Philly, made a stop at Tony Luke's and now that roast pork was legendary!
It's the same sandwich. They both admit it in other videos. They both say "this is just standard Italian pork on a good roll"
