Architects have been my go to band for a long time, more so the last 2 years, since i was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, then going through a marriage breakdown, these guys have helped me massively.
With the release of Holy Hell I have been absolutely amazed with Architects!!! Album of the year without a doubt! I'm not huge into metalcore but every album on holy Hell is a freaking banger!! Holy Hell has melody, aggression, emotion, sadness, and anger and it's expressed beautifully. In my opinion it's a super important album because it helps people to move on after a loved one passes. The deep love I have for this band has increased and keeps on going and going day by day. Absolutely incredible!!
Hereafter their best so far, great review as always guys. I would recommend reviewing the Holy Ghost documentary, you will learn alot more about the band.
The video supplements the lyrics in a beautiful way. As we know, the band lost Tom back in 2016 during the writing of "All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us", which weighed heavily on every member. Sam, the vocalist, in particular talked about how Tom's death almost derailed his entire musical career. If you watch any live performances, you can still see how raw the pain is for every member, which leads me to the bit about the arrow. It's an incredible piece of imagery that signifies how wounded the band still is. You definitely picked up on the imagery, especially the bit with the journalist, and that's what makes Architects so special. I discovered them about a year and a half ago and they've quickly become my favorite band. Sam's tortured vocals can easily bring tears to my eyes, especially when watching live performances. Love the channel guys, keep it up.
Just wanted to say I love your reaction videos together. Especially the architects one. Been checking everyday since the song dropped hoping you guys would react and it's finally here!
You guys should react to their last song off the new album "A Wasted Hymn" I think you would really like it. I got the album a day Early and I can honestly say It's a massive achievement for heavy music. Album Of The Year for sure. Great video!
Great video! GalacticCriminal did a reaction of this video and he broke down a lot of the "symbolisms" or hidden messages in the video! should check it out and see if you agree.
Awesome reaction guys! Really enjoyed the song. My favourite is Hereafter for sure, its really really good :) Looking forward for the "Death, come near me" reaction guys. Hopefully it's coming soon. Want your opinion on it :) Cheers, William
the issue with that Draconian song is the length. During school months is hard to have time to sit down and do longer songs, we have to wait for the Xmas holidays to check some of the longer songs.
yeah this song has literally fuck all to do with toms death Architects as a band have always taken time to look beyond themselves and acknowledge the problems of the world Architects would be the first guys to look passed personal tragedy to greater injustices and that's why i love them. yeah toms death is a big deal and they did have to address it and they have addressed it well but its much more important that they go on to continue to represent what he stood for. tom was sick for 2 album cycles and he wrote what 2 songs about it.
Erra is a similar band to Architects, their guitar work is very good, good balance of clean and unclean vocals, their chugging riffs get the blood pumping, I would also suggest this song for an introduction piece, Pattern Interrupt, they need the exposure
Good day, hope you are well, loved the song and the reaction, if you are looking for some newer Helloween songs check out Sole Survivor, Revelation, the dark ride, the saints, kings will be kings,
808koko808 as I lay dying. They’ve got a new project coming soon, but I’d start with shadows are security and go through the albums chronologically. Good stuff
Come on guys... this song is us, humans, " 7 billion hungry ghosts" waisting the planet like " a parasite killing the host ".... We all know it but nobody dares to tell and change " the emperor wears no cloth". We want and have more but are not really happier and that's modern misery. You rightfully noticed " we used to run with the wolf " but the most important sentence is right after. " but now we can't see the forest " because there is less and less. Actually, Architects are very much a aware of environmental issues and speak about it in several of there songs ( cf " from the wilderness ). I read somewhere that sam Carter is also veggan .
I love Metal ... but I just can't stand metalCore. I don't know why. Seeing a metalCore video I just feel the urge to shout "Cheer up guys, stop whining! Life is not THAT hard you know! Visit a therapist or something! Be Men, not mice!". That never happens to me with Proper Metal. Weird.
@@harveymarples6980 Many artists and bands have been through hard times. This music "genre" is what I'm criticizing. That has nothing to do with artists' personal lives. Does it give any extra value for this song? Not for us who do not like the genre. But it may give for the fans.
@@harveymarples6980 Edgy? :D ... I don't like rap. I don't like dance music. I don't like metalcore. And I just said it. And I said why I didn't like it. Don't be offended about that. I've seen and heard enough metalcore bands to say that this genre is not for me. There are many sub-genres of metal I don't like. Maybe there is some sub-genre or whole genre You don't like, and will not pretend to like. And you know why you don't like it. That doesn't mean you are uneducated or unfair to that genre, does it? I didn't say I didn't like This particular band or song. This was only rant against the whole genre.
Architects and alot of other metalcore bands with foundations in the hardcore scene aren't "emo teen angst at its worst" this song is literally about how humanity is a parasite destroying the earth and how some people are to stupid to realise it. a lot of architects stuff of the passed few albums has no clean singing in it and is very angry
This kid is always smiling. Lovely relationship with your father and metal. Rock on \m/
Architects have been my go to band for a long time, more so the last 2 years, since i was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, then going through a marriage breakdown, these guys have helped me massively.
Yep you caught me I was scratching myself at the beginning

We don’t deserve a band like Architects
Hereafter their best so far, great review as always guys. I would recommend reviewing the Holy Ghost documentary, you will learn alot more about the band.

Please react to Holy Ghost - Architects! It's an amazing and powerful documentary about the new album :)
You guys should react to their last song off the new album "A Wasted Hymn" I think you would really like it. I got the album a day Early and I can honestly say It's a massive achievement for heavy music. Album Of The Year for sure. Great video!
I got it early as well since I live in Australia. The track Holy Hell is actually amazing.
It will be a close race between Holy Hell and Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream imo.
@@adamhofman4933 Bury Tomorrow's "Black Flame" was also amazing. Hard to decide this year, we've been spoiled with great music. :)
A Wasted Hymn is brilliant
If you like lyrics check out Gone With The Wind by these guys. Probably the best song they've made, in my opinion at least.

Architects, While She Sleeps and AILD, the only bands that keep the old and good metalcore alive
kreshBACON
Hey! Who is AILD?? Definitely stoked for the other new releases!
As I Lay Dying bro ! Kings of Metalcore today in my opinion (since Bullet step away from the sound of their first two album)
808koko808 as I lay dying. They’ve got a new project coming soon, but I’d start with shadows are security and go through the albums chronologically. Good stuff
I suggest the songs Greater Foundation, An Ocean Between Us and their latest single My Own Grave, and see if you like the band :)
August Burns Red? Killswitch Engage?
