    I love your use of murrini. I’m going to shop for some and try it. I like your videos as they hit my sweet spot for knowledge and experience. You’re inspiring me to try some things I haven’t done so far. Thank you for your firing schedule info as I find that one of the trickiest parts of the craft. I’ve used info from Bullseye as guidance and have had good luck so far, but every time I use a new mold for the first time, I sweat it. Glass is great, though, because you can always put it through another slump if you don’t get there the first time!

    I love the murrini and glass you used with the wave look. I think a simpler mold would have shown the wave off more. I like the mold too and I probably would have tried the murrini either just in the middle or around where the eggs sit to highlight one of the areas more. That's just me. Love all your videos and the different takes on things!

    I absolutely love my cutters mate. My tip to you is: hold it with your finger tips don’t grab with entire hand. I always push some too, it has to help. Lol. Love the project, excellent job. Thanks for sharing.

    Had you considered of making just one curvy cut for the top piece, in a shorter length of glass that could then be opened up to the finished width for the cane pieces?

      @JamaisonSchuler  2 роки тому +1

      Definitely, and I’ve done this before. But I’m this case, I was trying to use two pieces of larger scrap.

    Gorgeous platter. Couldnt you have just put the other side of the opaline on top of the first side and traced it?

    Beautiful!! Thanks also for the link to that etsy shop with the canes. I have been looking for good sources of that since the place I used to get it locally does not carry cane anymore. :( - Heidi

      I love Lori’s work! The cost can add up but it’s possible to catch a deal now and then or use plain glass rods to fill in some space and have a less expensive cost.

    Very nice! I have seen you use the murrini like this several times. I have been tempted to try it, but I work in coe 96 and the murrini is crazy-expensive. The amount you used in that project would astronomical. The best price I have found is about $25 for a little two ounce bag. When I retire, maybe I will learn to pull my own cane, just to be able to use murrine that way. :)

      I do spend a lot, but I also try to find a good deal when I can. This was more affordable because I bought it on Lori’s Black Friday sale and the prices were good!

      @@JamaisonSchuler Well done on getting good deals! That means you can really experiment. When I get glass on a good deal, I feel so much more free to try new things, rather than treating every piece like it was gold.

    Love it, just too big for my little kin, that has a 13inch shelve. Ugh, but I don’t have room for a bigger kiln
