Congratulations to Mark Cavendish on digging deep, never giving up, and making it it look easy in the end. He's the GOAT, and he's a total legend.
I remember him being written off in 2014 when Kittel was smoking everyone, but he smashed Kittle in 2016. It's the same story in 2019, and he smashed them all in 2021. How many generations of sprinters has he smoked and continue to smoke? He's certainly my sporting hero.
Cave retired Kittel. Unfortunately, Kittel didn't have the fortitude to get smoked like that after dominating for many years

If they thought he was dangerous today, they should be terrified for tomorrow. The man now has no pressure and nothing to lose.
There are two options, now he either goes full in and goes all in every sprint or just leave the sprint to his teamamtes to not risk an injury

The way Cavendish held Biniam's face after the hug almost appeared as a handing off of the baton to the next generation of great people who are also great sprinters.

Experience, race craft, and the mind of a champion. The gaps he found towards the end was magical to watch. Saving energy until the exact moment to burst. Blew off younger, stronger sprinters. With 3 young children its is amazing he has the strength to get up in the morning at age 39 let alone win at the TdF. Amazing.

That is utter bullshit. Lefevre was the only team that gave him the chance back in 2021. He got the best Lead out team of the world with QS and had 4 sprint wins.

I’m in awe of this man’s accomplishments. To ride in so many tour races, to suffer climbing those mountains, depression, epstein -barr twice, broken collar bone. What an amazing example of someone who doesn’t quit and to have that kind of explosive energy after a long day in the saddle. Congrats Sir Mark, I would be honored to meet you someday.

I dont know much, but the doc about him they are pretty straightforward about how he is difficult to work with, but that is not the same thing as being an outright dick. I think many highly competitive people get this attribute.
