Confession ... I didn't think he'd get 35. I thought the cycling Gods were against him after last year. What a legend.
Others, like Greipel and Kittel came and went. He saw them all off. I'm off to see him on the 11th, in Villeneuve sur Lot. I am fortunate to live in SW France, where the TdF often comes through.

Was taking my Dad (82) to chemotherapy today and talking cycling, he was telling me about Eddie Merckx.
"Hold that thought, Dad. Might be Cav's by the time we get home...."
I genuinely shed a tear for Mark's accomplishment. My friend and cycling partner passed last October and Cav was the reason he kept riding. He only stopped just weeks before he passed.
Sir Mark Cavendish. A true legend and an absolute inspiration. Thank you. Now go and make more history.
