I loved the time attack section at the end. While I love racing, there's something extremely satisfying about seeing you get closer and closer to the ghost each lap.
I LOVE listening to your practice sessions and how you're mentally and physically improving on the course. As someone just getting into sim racing it's great to know how someone as good as you thinks.
A chronic problem with your corners is you're hitting minimum speed too late in the corner. Watch your speed in relation to the faster ghosts, and you'll see that you usually come screaming up to the ghost in mid-corner, only to watch the ghost zoom away from you in the last half of the corner.
Steve I cant thank you enough for your videos. I have been helping my mom in her battle with breast cancer and your videos always keep me happy when i have to sit with her for hours while she gets her treatments.
If only there were more Gr.1 events in the single player portion of the game... Not everyone's into online multiplayer, except of course watching you doing it mate!
Thank you Steve for convincing me that sim racing is fun. I've got Forza 7 on my 9 year old laptop and Thrustmaster's Ferrari wheel for Xbox 360 and I've never enjoyed motor racing or computer games more. It's fun driving fast, even if it's in your bedroom. I'm only afraid of going down the rabbit hole of "sim rigs" and getting in debt instead of being just broke 🏎
12:25 Brazillian Barry-R be like: "Hey Steve, what's up? Come on, grap a beer and let's watch some Vasco da Gama on my TV, shall we? VAMOS VASCO!" Greetings from Brazil, you're the best Steve! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
@Super GT 6:14 It's so odd to me that Polyphony Digital went all the way to break racing immersion and have ghost cars when they spin. They still didn't see that ghost cars sitting still on the race line is a super bad idea to remove the ghost cloak while cars are approaching on high speeds??? You would think with +1 million collision data after the ghost cloak was removed they would go in and tweak the mechanics to not have insane racing ruined moments. I would suggest to remove the ghost cloak when the car is back on track, pointed in the right direction, and have about 88% racing speed on the part of the track. This would reduce racing collision by 93% with my calculations, hope Polyphony Digital is reading the comments and makes work of this 😁
@@Super_GT Wow, didn't expect you to actually read this, but since you did I have to explain my comment as it sounds a little rude. I find this hilarious because Alpine's entire prototype program for the past decade has consisted of them slapping their badge on someone else's car and calling it a day, so the idea of them slapping their badge on a Porsche is kinda ironic.
I love this group type!!! I play a lot of F1 and the transition to GT7 sometimes throws me off, and having an lmp car feels natural to me. I have better results when they feature these race types
16:39 in my head I said "if you say two tenths and you need a little more than that, then you will get exactly two tenths. no more, no less..." wow i was on point
Hey @Super GT - That was me on my 2nd account (Bruce) in P5 towards the end of the race (Lap 12/13). Just switched to wheel from controller and still getting used to it. I made a mistake, skidded, cut corner and got a penalty. Saw you coming like a bullet and wanted to move over but was star-stuck a bit lol and messed it up so obviously slowed to let you by. Sorry about that and cheers for being cool about it after the race in the lobby 🙂 Was in your 2nd race using main account but nowhere close to you 🙂
11:40 the guy was using automatic gearbox and i also noticed on the main straight you get a bit slower and then faster again when you shift up in 7 so might as well leave it in 6
I noticed that too. Here he is trying to figure out what he's doing and when/where he's shifting and what gear he's in coming out of corners and he's using an AT.
one thing you're not doing that everyone else seems to do is, before every corner breaking early but keeping your foot on throttle for a second or so. You see it from the fastest driver as well. This costs a bit more tires but charges your battery by a lot. Seems to be a bug but also seems to be something the devs haven't straightened out
I have always preferred group 1 or any lmp car in these games, they always feel like they can do anything and they just keep gripping. Was funny comparing my old favorites the r92cp and minolta to the newer cars and realizing how much grip the new ones have even if they have less power but usually have hybrid systems to make up for it when doing turn heavy courses
Really nice video again Steve! :) But one thing I don‘t like is that people abuse the simulation physics which obviously wouldn‘t work in RL to go faster… kinda takes away from the simulation aspect
Hey Steve I recommend you to not use the 7th gear on the 919 Hybrid, mostly it is faster to rev out the 6th gear as much as you can and you‘ll gain some good top speed
does seem a weird (and somewhat unrealistic) quirk of GT7 that cars will rotate better when coasting near the apex by temporarily banging down to first and back again, which Ive seen a few of the proper fast bois doing now
@11:11 so the clear advantage of mateys quicker cornering speeds, needs one to drive to the limits of the software, to forget conventional gearbox/engine physics. So right now is/should GT 7 be writing out this technical advantage 'sight of hand', or maybe its up to the drivers to do their homework? It's like when Button won his championship, Brawn came up with that aero advantage, took the other teams half the season to catch up.
Steve, Did you watch Eeeries' video at Fuji with the 919? he was doing *something* re deployment. the jist was he had a lot more battery power at the end of the lap and punch out of slower corners. I didnt quite get what he found, but hopefully you have sussed that trick out too :) m
Honest question - is ramming someone from the back a legit racing strat? Super GT does it, and lately I have been getting rammed this way in the back online too.
I loved the time attack section at the end. While I love racing, there's something extremely satisfying about seeing you get closer and closer to the ghost each lap.
Honestly, it would be nice to see that more often. Time Attack is so much fun.

It's crazy to see how powerful manual transmission is! I've been thinking about learning manual on GT7

Sometimes more torque at lower rev on taller gear have better acceleration than a gear down even though you’d think it’s wrong
