Love what they’re doing for high stakes, but also if they want to “expand the arkhamverse” in future games, it’s gonna be hard to do that if half of your potential heroes are dead by the end of the story.

They will probably update it with an offline mode when they stop supporting it.
@mysteryace2129 so fortunately with avengers they did add a final update that gave ALL avengers Micro transaction items..( Take down emotes name plates & skins)... free in an update and made all dlc available for offline play so avengers can now be played completely offline single-player with out an internet connection,,,my hopes is that they will do the same for this game otherwise its not worth pay over 100$ for a game they can just shutdown at anytime

It might not have a ton of microtransactions maybe only cosmetics which is fine.
Coop game from 2005, from what I'm actually seeing and analyzing the gameplay, we won't know for sure, but this might actually be one of the best takes on a 4 player coop shooter. The gameplay has a ton of mechanics that I bet will probably be fun to play with.
I know we wanted other games, and trust me... as someone who adores the Arkham quadrilogy, I did, but but this is what we got now, and I'm trying to have a fair perspective on it. Like legit how many actualy 4 player "story", "good" shooters have we gotten in the last two decades? They're not a lot, so in that regard, this is not just following a trend. Let's see Rocksteady's take.
Good things I noticed in this video:
-The movement seems really smooth and fun, which not a lot of games like these have.
-The incorporated the counter system as a "counter weakpoint" kinda system. When an enemy is attacking, if you attack a specific area you can counter, and what happens after depends on the enemy type.
-Idk if there's more interactions like this, but shooting the legs and then doing a melee attack gives you armor, which from my experience with DOOM Eternal was hella fun trying to think ok I have low armor, let me do this specific sequence to get it back while also fighting and not getting hit etc.
I'm not defending the game or anything, I'm just citing my observations on what might make this game stand out from other games.
Another game that we could've had was Damian Wayne Arkham Batman (sequel to Arkham Knight) but WB Montreal cancelled it.
So about that Superman game. You got a metropolis modeled. You have fully modeled Suoerman.
AAA games are getting expensive, hopefully WB is really considering reusing those assets for a Superman Game.
Especially considering we got WWoman coming. Central City is not that big and a MMorales smaller style Flash gane could hit. Reusing assets in imaginative ways can be lucrative.
They pitched a Superman game but it got denied. I hope if they make Superman look badass in terms of character design, presentation and such, they will reconsider Rocksteadys pitch.

What else is there to shoot in a game other then enemies? This isn't some new trend in gaming.
To be fair, there are a bunch of mechanics in this game that seems legit fun and could be way better than most Co-op shooters. Of course we'd have to try the game and watch reviews to know.

How you gonna read this comment and think it was smart. Its a shooter, you're going to be shooting bullets. The game looks very unique compared to the looter shooter genre with actually fun looking gameplay instead of cover based shooting with lootboxes.
I'm going to change my expectations about this game and give it a vote of confidence, because it's Rocksteady. The graphics look incredible, the game's narrative can surprise, and it can be fun to play. I don't think Rocksteady would be able to produce something as trashy as the Avengers game. Would I still prefer it to be a Superman game or an Arkham Asylum remake? Yes! But I'm not going to join in with the internet and foolishly and uncritically deny what the guys are creating. My PS5 awaits. Let's go Rocksteady! ;)
So they had the resources and character designs to make a fully emersive open-world Justice League game, but they shelved that idea because they already gave us Batman games and instead decided to give us this??? 🤔🤨

Because ppl just want another arkham (tho this game was never said to be like it) and just dont even want to have an open mind on approaching the game. From the get they didnt like it now every upcoming trailer or news til released is gonna be that. The negative mindset is going to make the experience much much the worst in terms of nit picking. The game doesn't even look that bad, actually as a 3rd person shooter and combat looks mad fun. Reminds me of a sunset overdrive just in a much gritty enviornment. I say my only concern is how they will use microtransactions.

Here is hoping that each character is actually different to play than they looked a year ago. There better be benefits to using certain weapons with specific characters rather than having them all use the same things with no downside.

Tf do you mean it's not slow at but rather realistic while also being flashy. Tf is the point of fun traversal if you get to the other side of the map in 1 second.
Completely agree. But maybe it's because I've been playing Spider-Man 2. That traversal is beautiful.
Spiritual successor to Sunset Overdrive I really enjoyed it, they took those purple balls out of the enemies improved the gameplay a lot

I want to like this but the gameplay is still not completely selling me on it. The story one the other hand has me wanting to try it. I remember the three Batman games so I know this team wants to make another classic. But going into a multiplayer game after single player games makes me think of the team that made redfall. I don’t want to play this if that is the endgame.
Probably won't happen but it would be awesome if you could see Gotham across the shore like how you could Arkham city in knight because it would be so nostalgic just remembering all the events from knight or even just seeing wayne tower in the distance

The gameplay and traversal does not speak to me. I find it odd how the characters can just completely shift momentum on a dime and do weird things like slide across the ground. It doesn't look fluent at all. Especially when compared to something like Spider-Man.
I'm here for the story, though.

Point being they are smart to lean into the shooter and doing it well because any genre can be good with any ip if you know how to make it fun. So...

Agents of Mayhem had a weaker story, weaker gameplay, & was really janky. As long as Rocksteady is able to avoid any jankiness that may arise by going from Arkham Series to a 3rd person looter-shooter, they should hopefully be good

So nostalgic, we can hear Nick Arundel's work on Arkham knight music and a little bit of Asylum 5:35 to 8:10. Also, green lantern's voice seems to be alike with Jason Todd using Arkham Knight suit
Although this is not the game I wanted, I do think it’ll be better than what we expect. It looks like this will be more similar to a sunset overdrive than a Avengers Game. Sunset was absolutely fun although it was dumb at times. This will be the same with better characters.

I just hope the co op doesn't disappoint, I see the co op provided is like dynasty warrior but more unique and open world. but from what I saw, the city looked more like a battle royale. Hopefully there will be more characters, and it can actually loot like a battle royale game. it's very good to see the story but if it's over? all you can experience is the co-op or online feature. Maybe you could try including additional stories from other universes, this would open new gates for new characters to appear and could also make the co-op game fresher.
The downside of the Marvel games that I've played is that they're always just ordinary games which, once finished, mean they don't continue but create new ones, but this game is different. like having a new one, better than the way marvel does it. Just from the game Injustice, it's already good, I'm really looking forward to this game, I hope it lives up to expectations
So Captain Boomerang stole a gadget from Batman's vault that is actually a Flash imitation trinket. This game makes no sense why not just give him an actual Batman gadget or have him steal it from Flash's stash?

What's the melee like? Do we at least have fun and interesting melee combat? Is it extensive? Free flow? What are we to expect for melee combat?

Does anyone know how this is connect to the Arkham games considering how Knight ended? I just don't understand it and certain characters aren't right
I'm honestly just baffled by how they're STILL sticking to the live service aspect, despite the fact that Gotham Knights failed so miserably alongside literally 99% of AAA live service crap in the past 5 years (Anthem, Avengers, Babylon's Fall, Redfall... just to name a few). Do they want this to fail?
See, this game would've been decent if it came out around 2016- 2018, but nowadays it's the most generic looking game, I'm happy for those who still enjoy these types of games but personally I'm sick of it, but good for you 👍

I see that as a good hitbox for that attack. That specific attack doesn't have to be precise in a very fast moving game.

You’re literally making excuses for why this game isn’t an Arkham game, or have the tone of it, but should have the support of the Arkham Community. Can’t have it both ways. It sounds a whole lot like you’re blaming you’re fanbase for not liking the direction you have taken the game

No shade, I just genuinely can’t remember/don’t see the difference. Guess I’m trying to understand where the focus was with the delay.

I'm still hoping that this turns out to be a good game.
Live service or not, if the experience is anything as good as Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy then I'm all for it, but the story and gameplay HAS to be good otherwise people will skip this entirely.
I don't think the story is going to be an issue. I'm worried about what happens when the story is over.

I’m glad they’re doing this video series and it already looks better then what we were getting originally. But I’m gonna have to wait and see before i can really have an opinion on this.
I never played The Avengers game so I can’t speak from that experience, but I hope the gameplay experience doesn’t feel too on the rails or “empty” if that makes sense. What made the Arkham games so fun was the sense of rhythm you’d get in combat that allowed for some cathartic combos, so I’m interested to see if they can reach that level satisfaction in a shooter-type game.
But hey, if worse comes to worse, I can always watch the cutscenes online and experience the story from there. Did it with Gotham Knights, so I can do it again with this if needed 🤷♂️

I played Avengers from its Beta and this game looks and feels miles better than Avengers in its entire run already.
But we will see how it goes.
This isn't an Arkham game. Its new and unique so expect those kind of results. Don't compare to that when the studio isn't trying to make another Batman game in the first place.
