  • S3 E23: "I really love my stock exhaust," said no one...ever. How about watching us install a new exhaust system that increases performance, reduces significant weight, and sounds like a beast?!? With the combination of Mistral header pipes, GPR muffler, and UpMap to map optimal performance, we show the installation process.

    I have the exact same bike. For those who really love the MG V85tt, It's so worthwhile to do the upgrades shown in this video. I replaced the entire exhaust system, did the Upmap ECU flash, K&N Air Filter, SAS Delete, also increased the airbox flow. Also Power Commander PC6 and AT300. Performance and throttle response are outstanding, not to mention it runs cooler plus looks and sounds way better. I believe the torque gain number here may be understated and the hp gain overstated as I now measure on the dyno 62 fp and 83.5 hp at the wheel (+18hp). Completely unlocks the potential of the V85tt, Acceleration in all gears is much quicker, what a joy to ride! I think a properly sorted out V85tt is the ultimate all-rounder. Highly recommended!

      Well, I believe it now since you had it dyno. These are remarkable numbers ( +18hp) with 83.5 HP at the wheel. You must love your bike. It's the V85tt or the Tiger Sport 660 and the more I learn about this bike It's tipping the scales toward the Guzzi!. I think it's also better for 2-up riding, much better looking, with attention to detail throughout, and classic Italian styling that looks Incredible. What am I missing about the bike that would sell me on the bike? You're an owner. What's one thing that would I love, to push me to purchase the bike from an owner's perspective. Thank you for your time.

      I bought a modded V85tt with exhaust, upmap,k&N. Haven't looked to se if the sas was deleted or not. But I wonder what the stock drives like when people say it's slow, I have not rode a stock one but my bike is a blast. Also has Bitubo front and rear suspension. LOVE IT

    • @bar0756
      @bar0756 11 місяців тому

      @jackieandleon As stock, I did sometimes wish for more power on freeway overtakes. Now I never wish for more. I also added an MShock. The V-Twin vibe and sound, the shaft drive, maintenance autonomy, the all day comfort and the beautiful styling...
      I think it's the ultimate all-rounder bike!

    Hi guys; I have the same bike and it is not necessary lift tank or cut the pipes. Removing the one piece, header and exhaust system is a bit tricky; but doable because I did it; You just take the horn and voltage regulator off in front to disconnect wires to sensors; then screw them back into new pipes and reconnect; so far I’m working the change on the exhaust system and waiting to do and Upmap to the ECU; Take care John

      I've done the same mod except reusing the OEM muffler and re-tuning with the UpMap and using the "V85 21 US OEM N Zard" downloaded map.
      I have a 2022 E5 V85TT (US model), to remove the lambda probes, remove the voltage regulator and let it hang, then remove the bracket that hold the voltage regulator, this the the bracket that the connectors for the lambda probes are mounted to, you can now remove the connectors then unplug them. This will allow you to remove the one-piece exhaust system without cutting. You can't access the E5 (21+) lambda probe connectors from under a lifted or removed fuel tank. Don't know, but maybe you can access the lambda connectors by lifting the tank on an E4. The E4s have a three-piece exhaust system so you could remove the lambda probes like @Advistics did in this video without unplugging them.
      Depending on your dealer, if you ever need warranty work, you may need your OEM exhaust system intact. So I would suggest not cutting or disposing any of your stock exhaust until your bike is out of warranty.

    I have a 2020 V85tt and installed the $138 stainless Y pipe kit ( three piece with all clamps included) I bought on eBay , my bike has an Guzzi slip on exhaust by Arrow with the carbon fiber , my bike sounds amazing now and performs much better . I’d like to look into getting the UpMap but for now my bike seems fine and feels more alive!

      I have the '21 Centenario. Its my dream bike. My last bike,which I loved, was a Triumph Tiger 650 in the 70s A properly sorted out V85tt is to me the ultimate all rounder. Am in its clutches completely. I didn't do the dyno measurement, the exact same configuration was dynoed by Todd, and is shown on a video. Imagine the V-Twin heart of a Harley Sportster, but it handles like a dream and has the styling and aesthetic that only the Italians can do. I am not an experienced mechanic but managed to do all the upgrades myself. It's a simple air-cooled 4 valve design. Meaning for me, maintenance autonomy. The ergonomics and response to rider input are superb. It is all day comfortable. So many owner accounts converge on the same thing, even with a stable of the very best bikes, this is the one giving the most rider enjoyment. With the upgrades it was like getting a whole new engine. Freeway overtakes are much snappier, response in all gears is just great, it looks even better, runs cooler and weighs 35 lbs less with lithium battery. I have a -25mm Mshock so it feels way lighter to manage out of the garage. The centre of gravity is lower and the handling amazing. Still enough clearance for light off road duty. The bike is gorgeous. I stare at it in the garage!

    I did the same upgrade and wow what a difference in torque and sound. You don't need to cut the exhaust just remove the rectifier and disconnect the lambada sensors. Only took me about 2 hrs for the swap out and Upmap.

    There's no point to cut in alf the exaust manifold: you have to lift a little bit the gas tank and disconnect both lambda sonds. Please check the shop manual before shooting these uninformative tutorials that can lead to harm those who watch them.
    What a mess!😱

    Great video, I own a 2021 v85tt as well. The only part of the mod that I'm nervous about botching is the "up-map" . My v85tt is the basic black version and doesn't have the moto Guzzi MIA feature; is this necessary and does the up-map come with good instructions? Thanks.

    • @bar0756
      @bar0756 Рік тому +2

      Don't need MIA. UpMap procedure is straightforward. It's when you press 'Install' that the download begins. Follow instructions on the screen. UA-cam videos are available to walk you through.

      As Dave said in the video, those numbers are provided by UpMap. We didn't have a dyno at our disposal to put up real numbers. But, the bike runs so much better after this & the power gains are definitely notable when you're riding.
