I doubt if I could get through something like this without crying if I were in the father’s position. I could see my father, however, an old vet, show that same stoicism as Jame’s father. It would be a sort of “I have to keep myself together for the sake of my son, he’s counting on me”
Thank you for all your explanations. Great work.
The multiple voices in the "free me parts" could be the good side of ren feeling trapped because of kuno, and the dark side wanting to be let out to protect the side feeling trapped.
If you want another great example of the turmoil of hate/love give Deutschland by Rammstein a listen. You’ll need to brush up on your knowledge of German history (all of it) but it is an absolutely masterful song and video that deals with pride, shame, identity, and more.
Great work sir!! Boy do I have a good one for you to dissect!!!! Please do it. “Humbling River by Puscifer”
11:35 is when you get put in a trance and spiral out
listening to maynard is just poetic, he knows his way around words
The pig head on a hummus usually symbolizes the inherent evil and savagery within humans.
The only thing I love more than watching Tool reaction videos, is the comments underneath.... Kinda like a reminder here that I am not alone 😬❤️ Not many people understand the impact their music has had on me, or helped me through the darkest of nights ❤ Anyhoots, off I go to Spiral Out! 🎶✌️🙏❤️
I see sickboi
When u think about it when Ren talks about how Jenny was running with heels late at night just wanted to find a place to sleep, it makes u think if maybe she was forced to b a prostitute .. :( Also when Screech knocked on his friends door to get help nd he didn’t answer then turned around to call his gf , she was coincidentally busy that night . That also makes u think maybe the friend and screeches gf were seeing eachother behind screeches back which wouldn’t surprise me considering how screech acts . So that adds another layer to the story if that’s what he was referring to
Ren got the inspiration for that song from an online newspaper where a 14-year-old boy killed a prostitute. Later that night, the boy was shot by a police officer. As Ren read the news, he saw a comment from the police. They commented, "What a shame," which Ren thought was not enough - just to comment "What a shame."

I would love to see your reaction to "Kitchen Sink" or "Paladin Strait" by Twenty One Pilots. So many of their songs have had such an incredible impact on me, but these two stand out among them.
Ughhh! I love your insight to all details. You’re a true angel of insight. 🙏🏻
What an insightful and passionate battle between good and not succumbing to evil. Absolutely breathtaking! A true talent! Had me on the edge the whole time. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Interestingly and psychologically fascinating. Love the backdrop. He’s brilliant!!! Love that he stood up and cast against his negative side!!!! 🙏🏻
Someone told me that my picker was broken. Because my father had psychotic and narcissistic traits, that eventually abandoned preteen, and dismissed me, as his child, as a teenager. This later led me into many dysfunctional, narcissistic, verbally abusive, neglectful, and superficial relationships. Until now! The buck stops with me! I will not pass on this generational sin to my one and only precious son. He gets lots of love, kisses, and, tickles. He gets what my father never game to me, nor my brother. As well, unfortunately, the abuse that my father endured as a young child, I have been able to forgive his actions. It’s okay though. I know my worth, and I can forgive his brokenness. It’s him that needs to forgive himself…. 🙏🏻. I’m at peace 🕊️. Generational sin dismembered. 🙏🏻
Hello! I just happened to stumble on your video as I was looking for reaction to Ren’s trilogy and I’m so deeply touched with your words. I went through generational trauma and sexual abuse, my parents are the one who ended it when they both realized the effects for me and my siblings since both of them had a toxic relationship. I am the oldest out of five and was the one witnessed everything from the start, me and my sisters (2 siblings) were sexually abused by a relative’s partner, I had just recently opened up this year despite my sisters coming forward 4 years ago and we had a very deep moment where she told me she was also sexually abused. Currently still have my mind in a mess but I’m trying to do better with my family. Much support for you! ❤
11 years ago, I married a man that showed me what true and unconditional love was, myself coming from a background of being abused, neglected, and eventually an abandoned child, at the hands of my father. My husband, on the other hand, treated me like a queen. We had a son that was born with an extremely rare de novo gene mutation. Severe Epilepsy, Autism, ADHD, and Hypothyroidism. Our son’s life expectancy was 1 year of age. After our 1 year anniversary, with our son, my husband started having adverse health complications. He ended up having Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. He passed within 6 months of his diagnosis, as the strong man he once was, he whittled away to skin and bones. The cancer had metastasized to his brain. After several whole head radiation treatments, I lost the witty, loving man I once knew! As my son was having active seizures daily, and my husband being hospitalized 2 1/2 hours away, I continuously felt torn being present for our child, and being at the bedside of my husband. My husband passed within 6 months of diagnosis, a full-time battle, the whole way. He came home locally, and was put into hospice status, via local hospital. 10 years later, I still struggle with the complexity of being present for my husband and being present for my actively epileptic child. My plate was overfilled. I don’t wish it upon anyone, as I was the sole caretaker for both. I’m also a 100% service connected disabled Army Combat Medic that served in Iraq, 2003 - 2004. Diagnosed with PTSD from constant mortars coming in. Honorably Discharged and released. Our son is a lively 10 year old lively boy. Living 9 years his life expectancy. I don’t know how I do it. I know I still consistently neglect myself; I dearly miss my husband, yet I’m grateful that he is no longer in pain anymore. Because our son is thriving, I can’t help feel like he’s smiling down at us. I’m honestly in burnout. Only one of me, and my son gets all of my energy. I’ve quit my successful business, built up for 10 years, as I know my son direly needs me 🙏🏻 I still struggle to find a balance between my son and my quality of life, and having energy for both of our appointments, meds, and paperwork. I do know there is a greater purpose and lesson in life. My son knows he is loved. He is actually a true blessing. My son and I have been both blessed, He loves me, and I love him; two peas in a pod 🥰
There is no mention of what 46 and 2 means. Interesting. Sounds like truth, but I'd rather have facts.
Great Channel!
I'd love to see you react to That Funny Feeling and The Chicken from Bo. Both are incredibly special works and your reactions to Bo's songs have been so refreshing. Often folks reacting to them are staying relatively surface level while Bo is so intentional about digging into topics from different angles to understand & process them himself, to educate others & help them process, and importantly, to acknowledge how complex these topics are and remind everyone that no one is perfect, nor has all of the answers, not even him, but we can all strive to be educated, thoughtful, and intentional in how we walk through the world. Truly love and admire Bo.
Yes ren is incredible
You should view the Jenny and screech series..it's 3 songs but absolutely worthwhile!
"If you treated your friends the way you treat yourself, they'd stop being your friend." Holy crap, I've never heard something that real before. I had to take a few minutes to just sit here and really think about that... Thank you.
I like the touch at the end when he is harmonizing that the lights start blinking again showing that his light and dark side are in harmony and he is able to dance.
Don't let TOOL "extra-nerdy" fans get you into their pit (despite loving nerdy subjects myself). Some of them just get stucj over-analyzing too much and forget how to just enjoy good overall quality music (and TOOL are very, very good at it).
They just hit different in a very good way.
I'm crying. I know the song. But your saying everything I'm going through x thankyou x
Listen to parabol/parabola next, you’d love it, also reflection is a very meaningful one
I've watched a couple of your Ren analyses and they are so impressive! They go so much more in depth than others I've seen, and they are really thought provoking and I'm just really enjoying them. So thank you! Excited to check out some of your other work 💜
It still amazes me how some people, like Oliver, can put to song what so many people the world over can relate with. Thank you for doing what you do...keep on keeping on.
Between dark and light is creation Fantastic dissection 👌❣️✊
"So cower at the man I've become, when I scream at the top of my lungs" brilliant lyrics he's a special guy.
“Handle this” Hands not fitting into Pringle cans. Hands around a burrito. Handle public performance. Brilliant.
Bo's Jeff Besos song is his best work
ROFL!! lol a psychotherapist's reaction! HOLY SHIT! SHUT UP! didn't you see the title? a psychotherapist is about to listen and give his priceless observations! lol! OMG this is going to be deep! We have someone in one of the most important sciences ever ! Pipe down! a guy who is WAY more fucked up in his thoughts than you could ever be, is about to listen to a piece of music and give his priceless opinion!!@!! SHUT UP! We are in the presence of someone in one of the more fake and phony sciences and he is going to speak! This guy was able to listen to BS for 8,10 years and act like it made sense to him AND add his own bits of valuable insight and contribute to this important field of study! SHUT UP! he is going to LISTEN TO MUSIC and then TALK ABOUT IT! This guy is going to blow your mind with his thoughts on a tool song! This is going to be life changing! THis guy is blow your mind with his take on a song!! seriously shut up! this God is about to speak! lol rofl. I would rather hear the opinion of someone who is in charge of cleaning off the pliers that crush the head of an embryo in an abortion clinic or someone whose job is to hog out grease traps in restaurants! SHUT UP YOU GUYS! A genius is about to listen to music in a way that.....that.....you can only wish you could understand! By the amount of views this thing has had over the last three weeks, it looks as though you aren't going to make it through the day without hearing this God's name at least a dozen times!
My father Michael Bolen from McGuffey Ohio. Missing since 3/29/24. It’s been a painful experience and yes, I’m holding a grudge.
Trying to be ok, create yourself from the chalk outline, trying to be whole, work with what you have, because you're supposed to be one way and the cards you hold are empty space
0:08 seconds in....I cant wait for you to hear this song
I KNOW! isn't it going to be AWESOME to be in the presence of this genius as he listens to a song! ??? i fucking love him! he is the best, I am the worst, he is the smartest man to ever figure out how to listen to a song in such a genius way! I am nothing, he is everything, he is SOOOO smart and I am not intelligent! just to be in this chat with another person who is aware of this man's genius, the psychotherapist's genius! a triumph, a wonder, a revelation, a revolution in the way music is listened to !
Hey there! I just found your channel, and its name "Music Heals" hit mit on a kinda personal level. Since a break up, I suffer on depression, live tiredness and suicide thoughts there is something i just want to mention: There is a french band called "igorrr". For some people its just noise, but the unpredictability in their songs is very refreshing and helped me a lot to kinda "sort my thoughts". Give it a try
Although the song comes from a simple source doesn't mean the song should be underestimated. This is a deep song with meaning on it own.
Rosetta stoned and wings for marie parts 1&2 absolutely need to be covered; their most ridiculous song (still amazing) and their most heart tugging serious song- Loving your analysis(s)
theres another lyric video that has a visualizer with it for this song on youtube, and i cannot find out who did the visualizer. if you havent seen it, i wouldnt even begin to know how to create something like it, i recommend looking it up
Great reviews and you got a sub from me. Any chance you could take a look at his songs Depression and Insomnia? The imagery with the words is phenomenal
Great reaction❤
