The thick smoke from that raging fire looks like a massive EPA violation that is going to be ignored. But my gas powered lawn mower is a threat to public health.
@frankmarti* 😂 You got that right.✌️
Cow farts are the biggest threat to public health 🤣
Another form of climate engineering is all.
Not to diminish the severity and inconvenience but this is just one fire. How about all the smoke and toxic fumes from the hundreds of EV fires that the same EPA (and greenies) seem unconcerned about?
This "greenie" is VERY concerned. Train derailments are inexcusable and they should be responsible for every dime in consumer and environmental cost.
Another one… I can’t remember
This many and I’m 66 years old
This is weird
What’s going on?
Agree
Chaos, instability, inflation, suspicion, etc. is being perpetrated for reasons we don’t quite understand. The question is by whom and why…
it's all a part of their plan...
Lack of or easing of regulations Also, spending money on defense contracts or foreign aid instead of infrastructure.
They put automated software in trains and eliminated crews. Now instead running 5 trains that are 20 cars long with a few crew members per train, they've now consolidate that into a single hundred car train with the same few crew members. Pure corporate greed. And they get away with it because they're exempt from state laws because they operate nationally. The railroads are never held accountable. They don't even follow their own safety protocols. My brother has been an engineer for Union Pacific for over 30 years. I've heard first hand about all the BS they get away with. When he was on the extra board he was constantly threatened to be fired for "not being available enough", when he was logging 100 hours a week on the time clock. They won't put in writing what they consider "enough", because no court in the land would uphold 100+ hour work weeks.
Look how many 18 wheelers trying to deliver our goods.. Damn thats amazing how much we depend on our LEGAL truck drivers
So your saying an illegal train conductor caused this wreck? Makes sense.
And refrigerated trailers that are running are facing the risk of running out of fuel and the product being ruined if stranded on that stretch of interatate too long.
@@actuallybuzzno it doesn't.
@@skankhunt3624 Obvious sarcasm apparently not so obvious.
I'm a truck driver and I had to go around that today I had to go up on I-25 lucky for me I was heading towards Colorado and Utah
And again the railroad will have no accountability to anyone for anything. 🙄
You haven't figured out this is all on purpose yet?
@@1realtruthrightnow742We we're just saying that while we were watching.
@kellypatterson4412 So where are the 75 Billions of the bipartisan infrastructure bill? Where is the money going? Is thee any accountability?
@@pindapoy1596well all of these rail companies make billions of dollars of profit a year so why do they even need government funding to fix the problems that they themselves are causing?

DEI and affirmative action are to thank
Nothing is a coincidence, actions are planned so far ahead and adjusted accordingly. The evil and power in this world knows no bounds. Can I prove a word of it? No of course not. The suffering worsens, endless wars, open borders destroy communities, unaffordable homes and prices, taxes on top of taxes to serve the elite,no more kindness just strangers and on and on. Appointed elites not elected, the rapid pace of the total destruction of the constitution and the flood of drugs to make people struggle more. They don’t hide a thing, they tell it to your face if you pay attention. You will own nothing and be happy! Agenda 30 is there for all to read such as 21,we saw what that started. Wait for the civil war when the UN becomes our reality. The US is bought and paid for now. Best wishes for those who stand up. Western countries are doomed once the fall of the US is complete. Open your eyes, nothing is a secret anymore. Tell us how life has improved for the average person please.
@@tdx360 It's just like conservatives to cause a problem and then blame everyone else for it, though.
it's called "a train broke into two". shockingly simple concept. your closest blame falls under "precision scheduled railroading" which fun fact - is causing issues for all of us.
@@tdx360 Left is so blind. Keep supporting the demos and watch everything being destroyed, like now
Gas and propane burning not surprised
Wonder what would happen to EV vehicles..... HAHAHAHAHAHA Be there for ever.
theresa just imagine if that "accident" had happened IN THE MIDDLE OF A CITY such as Tucson! No telling HOW many deaths and injuries would have occurred! Something has to be done about the LENGTHS of trains and the weights of same before we have something HORRIBLE happen!
@mikegross6107 there does seem to be a relation between the semi recent ultr ling trains and accidents.
The government is getting rid of all the propane
More and more corners are cut by railroads. They are an example of our failing infrastructure and collapsing country.
Each truck has safety standards and inspections. One man runs a 4 mile train, with no backup. How can he inspect a whole train?
First, train crews are at least 2 people by law.
Second, regarding inspections:
-Each train is inspected at the yard where it's assembled. This is trained personnel driving up and down both sides of the train at about 10 mph looking for problems.
-Trains are also inspected in the same manner every 1000 miles
-Any time they pass another train, they will inspect the side of that train that they can see and vice versa
-Any time they go through a yard, even without stopping, any employee who isn't doing anything just then will casually inspect them as they pass simply by habit
-Most mainlines have automatic wayside detectors every 10-30 miles which will detect dragging equipment, overheated bearings and the like.
-Any time they go through a long curve with decent visibility, they'll look back and inspect the side of the train that they can see. Limited in sight, obviously, but it will catch significant problems.
It's also the tracks at issue
@@sturmovik1274
2 whole people for 4 miles? Wow
Inspections while the train is moving by simply looking back?
Question, where were those detectors at during the crash in East Palestine?
Why do you think railroad workers are going public and pointing out safety concerns, as well as going on strike for being overworked, citing the employee layoffs and companies policies of “work more with less” as a problem?
@@sturmovik1274 Big deal. That is not enough staff for a train that size. The railroads don't care about anything but profit. Prove me wrong.
I completely agree. My comment was only to describe existing inspection procedures.@@user-xo1kt5pc9b
For the majority of 2023 the total number of train accidents increased slightly to 4,845, including more than 600 deaths. When comparing 2022 and 2023, the total number of derailments declined about 2.6% - but there were still nearly three derailments a day nationwide.
Donald Trump did away with regulations
You may already know this, but I'm reminding anyone who reads this that most derailments are nothing like this; most are a single set of wheels, or one car, a few feet off the track at low speed in a yard. The railroad equivalent of a parking lot fender-bender.
@@sturmovik1274 True but it doesn't really matter. Huge derailments happening at all is a problem. Much of it could be prevented by proper maintenance, better training, and actual train schedules. All three of those solutions would require taking away from precious railroad profits so it won't happen.
I wholeheartedly agree.@@scopie49
@@johnwebster76 BS. Trump did the correct thing. Instead of a fiat rule by king odumbo, President Trump canceled the "improved braking rule" set up by idiots who know little to nothing about railroading. Of course it would not of changed the Ohio derailment, and likely would not of made any difference in this one as well. The reality is over braking and sliding wheels is the cause of plenty of derailments.

Shoot! When my grandchildren lived in Rio Rancho, NM, I-40 was the highway we'd take. My heart truly goes out to everyone affected by this.

I live close to the NM/AZ border and that accident is only about 50 miles from me. Thankfully, I travel in the opposite direction.
Let's not make it all about you mmk?
The old safety protocols were fine before being cut back or out entirely by some bottom line bean counter
Wonder what the folks in East Palestine have to say about this, since the media won't cover it.
Maybe let engineer's operate their train instead of PTC.
PTC isn't the problem. Trip Optomizer is. Lovingly known as trip sodomizer. The programming can be so stupid at times it put our train into dynamic braking going uphill on a 1.3% grade a full mile before the apex. With how many people have quite from rail service in the last two years and the severe lack of quality/training in the replacement engineers.. I don't know if letting engineers run the train would even help anymore. Railroads have successfully cut their experienced and qualified employees by a significant margin chasing profits.
Railroads are just waiting for a big fat government bailout/upgrade. They split their bigger asset (,land holdings) off a long time ago.
@@scopie49 They must be letting kids that know how to write computer games write the programs for the trains now.
We're not all virgins, what's PTC?
@@sferg9582 Idk, m8. My 16 year old nephew is learning to code and I don't think he could screw it up as badly as the railroads do. Sorry, prayers for the people out there. 🙏🏻
When was the last time that rail was maintained? 😳 that’s the shit that scares the hell out of me. How much of our infrastructure that we still rely on is maintained correctly?
Railroads are heavily deferring maintenance in order to boost profits. There isn't a single train in the country that doesn't have at least a few cars in it without some kind of potential failure. Not all failures would be catastrophic, but why pay for preventative maintenance when we can pocket the cash and only pay a few million when the cars end up in a giant pile?
Looked like thousands of people stranded , traffic backed up east bound to Geronimo Exit 90miles away probably further now
This is done by design. Old Peter is doing a great job.
The trains are still coming through town in Flagstaff going east and west. But the highway is closed?
Highway US 60 was the selected option for truckers. Local truck traffic was huge for a spell.
If the Railroads would pull themselves together, start laying secondary track alongside what they got now, Eventually these issues could be minimized, People wouldn't see miles of cargo sitting on a side track waiting they're turn to pull off on the next side track
We could use another transcontinental railway. All we need is enough China men and Irish to build it.
Very good report. Thank you.

Train fire? Derailment? Not near hwy, why close the road? Railroad safety act? How convenient. Looking to pass it, so derail another train? What, does this legislation stop propane on rails? Or perhaps sabotage? Maybe the "RR safety act" ensures investigation and prosecution? This one stinks like super fishy.
This is purely uninformed speculation on my part, but... It looks like the hwy is only about 2000 feet of the track at most points, and depending on exactly what hazmat/flammables it had on board, that could be VERY close. So, they close the highway in the immediate vicinity... and then it only make sense to close it between the two nearest towns where a detour is available, to prevent any more traffic than is already there from getting stuck.
Trust me that you may not be super close but anywhere near is bad. Especially as the atmosphere may keep it closer to the surface of the earth. Night may be worse. Sorry but must go get oxygen now. Been where toxins were.
