SCP-6624: Allow me to sing for you the song of my people.
Me: Please, don't.
Oh my god I LOVE this one. Lovecraftian cosmic horror? The king in yellow? Madness and piping and full transdimensional terror? Yes please.
Yes, but in a very, very, dry and official precise scientific report. ❤
Two this
You should check out the other Alagadda SCPs.
My man's got good taste.
It's almost odd how I see you every UA-cam corner I seem to nestle in.
Would you ever consider doing music inspired by SCP?
Jeeeeez he really reached another level with that diary reading. So strong, and agressive, and emotional!
I concurr this was exeptional
🎉😢 10
Heard him mention the Yellow Sign and was like "welp, let's check and see if he flashed it on the screen...yup." Now feeling absurdly satisfied.
When?

Meta is an absolute monster.
He is my favorite author of the entire wiki . I was so happy when I saw his comeback to the site.
Cactus is pretty good too. I like his stories.
Meta is the OG Creator of Alagadda and Sarkcisim.
This is actually a repost of a SCP he posted for the 5000 contest, remember reading something like this way back when.
@@jakomioftherose2434
Meta, Kaktus and Tanhony are my favorite authors of the wiki, by far.
@@mattdayman461
Yeah, that’s the reason I love his works a lot.
His articles on Sarkicism were the reason I understood that the SCP Foundation was not a mere creepypasta site, but an actual encyclopedic piece of literature.
I read this work when it was published in the SCP 5000 contest and was one of my favorites.
@@mattdayman461 the hanged king and the kingdom of alagadda are literally my favorite set of tale/scp on the entire site. Something about it captured the fuck out of me unlike other scps. Glad to see the themes come back, I had an idea when “chitinous masks fused to their faces” was described, and even more so when I heard him read the line where the guy had the dream of what i reasonably assumed to be alagadda. Was very glad to see your comment confirming the link between the two
That holy crusade sounded like something out of a 40k story. Excellent voice acting btw, you really sold it!
The grandmaster would of made a fine Grey Knight
I made it 13 minutes. I mean, the author tried so hard to sound like Lovecraft in their descriptions with none of the intelligence. The sea is black as forgotten memories? Gag me with a spoon.
@@CloudsWolf No one asked about your lack of tolerance for the fiction. The 90’s mom terminology could use some work as well.
@@GreenAndGoth
Its lame.
Reminded me of Daemonkulaba as I heard it, though honestly anything with gore reminds me of that story since its such a great example of it.
A disproportionate number of artists, you say? Man, the Italian version of Are We Cool Yet is hardcore.
AWCY wishes they had even a fraction of the talent of the Alagaddans.
There is an SCP article that involves Francisco De Goya, his mental affliction caused by Alagadda, and his meeting with another painter Theodore Gericault which concluded with the phrase "Are we magnificent yet?"...
This is similar to a DnD campaign I ran where I did my take on Hastur as an entity desperately trying to enter our reality to escape Azathoth's awakening. Acting through a warlock, his goal was to create a big enough army of followers who could essentially dream him into existence in our reality
I'm actually tempted to create a campaign back in the 1500s, with the PCs serving as knights in the Order of Judas and the raid on the castle would be their trial by fire, where one of them assumes leadership of the Order, after the previous one dies in the assault (either to dice or to me deciding when it would be dramatically appropriate). After that, any number of SCP and Cthulu-inspired adventures could unfold in Medieval Europe.
But, maybe not. I'm currently already running one campaign and taking part in two others. Time will tell.
Nice
We are all Azathoth's dream. Your campaign sounds cool. Also, makes no sense.
@@AdamRoss1 it does in the context of my campaign universe, where our reality has been separated from Azathoth's
@@DarkVeghetta holy hell that sounds awesome
Y'know, this one strikes a great balance between old and new SCPs. The old is that the item is pretty simple, it's an organ organ! More specifically, a bunch of living humans shaped into an organ, whose compositions have various anomalous effects.
The new is the detail in the journal, writing a longer story that also connects to pre existing SCPs
But didn't that start as early as "What happened to Site-13" ?
Just want to point out that Hastur and Carcosa didn't originate from the Cthulhu mythos, they were simply inserted into the mythos as an easter egg by Lovecraft, a simple name drop in one story. Then August Derleth, one of Lovecraft's friends who also wrote stories set in the Mythos, continued to use Hastur and Carcosa in Mythos stories.
Derleth sucks. In fact, I can't stand non-HP mythos. Giving the gods traits like "elemental affiliations" and other very human concepts ruins them.
@@AdamRoss1 It definitely cheapens them, personally I headcanon things like this to be 'retellings' that the human mind has attempted to rationalize, still, theres some missing spark in comparison to the og lovecraft works
@@AdamRoss1 Agreed. The difference between Post-Lovecraft mythos stories and Lovecraft's original writings is like the difference J.R.R. Tolkien's work and all the fantasy rip offs that came after. It just feels like bad fan-fiction that doesn't understand what made the source material so good in the first place. Some authors however have done a decent job with cosmic horror stories by actually making it their own thing and not just riding off the things Lovecraft already wrote about. Two good examples would be Ramsey Campbell and Junji Ito in my opinion.
Also, none of the cosmic entities in Lovecraft's cosmic horror stories are actually gods, they're just aliens who obey a different set of natural laws that seem supernatural to humans. The whole supernatural element was just propagated by Derleth in his "posthumous collaborations" and Chaosium with their roleplaying games.
That is one element of Post-Lovecraft mythos stories I despise, the need the to expand upon every little reference or namedrop mentioned in a story. The whole point of them was to not be explained and add more mystery and depth to the universe. It'd be like explaining what the "Nameless Things" Gandalf mentions in "The Two Towers" were, the whole point of it is to drive the reader's imagination.
Also, I am sad that Derleth's version of Hastur has kinda overshadowed Robert W. Chambers original "The King in Yellow" as it's a great piece of horror literature in it's own right.
@@johnnydo7138 Yeah well it's kind of hard to match the abject terror and unrestricted imagination present in the frenzied ramblings of an agoraphobe utterly horrified by everything outside of his own house. Some things like that you just can't teach y'know.
This one is seriously phenomenal. It’s rare I find cosmic horror stories that scratch the particular itch I have and this one utterly nailed it. And you brought it to life beautifully. Excellent video.
Yeah! I feel like a similar vibe is The Orpheus Protocol podcast and I highly recommend it for fun disgusting eldritch horror. It's a good time

Love the bluntness.
I still don’t understand how you don’t have wayyyyy over a million subs, you’re my favorite story teller, the way you break these scp readings and other works down into your own way of telling its just fantastic. Keep up that good work my man 😀😀😀

Oh HELL YES, more Hanged King content.
By far my favorite eldritch being in SCP. Is it perhaps due to the King in Yellow vibes? Maybe. Perhaps I just love an eldritch carnivale.
Well, Aldeberan is Hastur's star...
I like the thought of an eldritch carnival like nyarletheotep just runs every scam game and a constant distant sound of horns oh and if you somehow do win it's like mind flayers and cthulhu replicas filled with meat or other appropriate substance I love this idea
Hell yeah! Metaphysician is back on site and so his awesome articles! All hail Alagadda!

Same author as Alaggada. Cosmic horror+dark renaissance+masquerade is quite enthralling. Trivia: author was banned for making some mistakes in this SCP. Thank the Hanged King the ban wasn't permanent.
what kind of mistakes?
@@camvaz8217 the biography of Carlo Jesualdo was pretty much copy pasted from his Wikipedia page
@@tigercors3308 well thats just bullshit, the author literally has constructed a story around premade and established information. Whats so bad about copying a biography z.z
Copyright issues probably, or something similar.
@@keeperdox wikipedia is not trademarked or copyrighted and SCP authors do it for free and the website runs off donations so no. Just the umm "diverse" new mods of the SCP foundation site are power tripping losers. HOLY CARP!! Your acting skills for this entry is really something! Really brought a great performance to life!
Yes?
😇 🎏
By far his best narration to date, the emotion in his voice makes it so real.
Phenomenal voice work in those journal entries! You perfectly captured the horror & madness & manic passion of the prince! I’d love to see you participating in other SCP audio collaborations!
I always love hearing about the Hanged King and Alagadda. It's such an under utilized lore section of SCP
There's certain bits of the Foundationverse that don't get the attention they deserve. Alagadda is one of them.
That's good! The more references the greater chance it will be ruined.
Look at how the daevas turned out.
The sudden shift between the sheer dread of December 30th and the casual, even happy description of January 12th, especially the start of "I was a fool to dread..." is chilling. So glad you continue doing these. Your voice acting is top notch.
The dramatization and entonation is magnificent! Way to go!
oh my god im so glad this got covered!! i was so upset when il maestro del rancore was removed when meta got banned and it was such a relief to see it back up 😭😭😭 thanks for giving this the attention it deserves!!
Why did he get banned?
@@christopheraaron1255 some copyright issues i believe? im not entirely sure tho 😅
@@christopheraaron1255 The bio for Carlo Gesualdo was nigh identical to the Wikipedia entry for them, so the ban was for plagiarism.
I bet it was supposed to be a placeholder, but they forgot to fix it, but that's complete guesswork on my part.
I keep coming back to this for the reading of the journal and the Unseen Order's Crusade. The emotion you put into your narration makes this absolutely amazing.
One of your best videos, TES!
Man, Syncope Symphony's early shit was brutal.
The work and effort you put into these is amazing. The music is wonderful as always, and the flash of the yellow sign is a nice touch. Thanks again for more great content.
"What a grand and intoxicating innocence-I, I mean symphony"
how can you kill a god?
This is great Exploring Series, thank you for your work and narration. This was a good SCP article that revolves around of the Hanged King and Alagadda.
I heard and seen some SCP documents and oc figures of a new entity relating to Alagadda. An eldritch being that may be above the Hanged King and Ambassador that exists within the high elder realm of the unknown High Elder Gods given the title Saint Alagadda.
I just made a Warlock in a new DND campaign and his pact is with the hanged king so this is just perfect timing.
What’s their spell list?
@@888fevertime they can hang kings, princes, dukes, or any other male member of nobility from any distance
@@heliveruscalion9124 Don't forget -1 to all Betrayal saving throws for the rest of the game. -2 if Clowns, Jesters, Stand-Up Comedians, or CNN news anchors are involved.
Damn! That last segment was basically a minor Slaaneshi incursion with localized Exterminatus response!
I can already imagine the Inquisition saying “Were it not for the -High Lords’- O5s’ counsel, I would’ve glassed your entire world!”
Man I was just about to make a joke that this is some major Slaanesh energy if I ever saw it but you beat me to it lol oh well.
It's literally got a whole segment of the grey knights being sent to exterminate the daemonettes
My goodness, the evident passion you put into the reading of this one is a standout! Love your work, you really elevate what are already fantastic works!
the narration slaps in this one man, you really got into character and it was awesome to hear.
Kinda random but the slang term "slaps" always throws me off since when and where I grew up "slaps" was a bad thing, it was "slaps" as in "you fart so hard your cheeks slap" so saying something "slaps" was like saying it sucked really bad since a turbo-fart sucks for everyone involved.
Slaps is a compliment? I've never heard it used either of these ways lol
@@julemoorlag4748 it's a dumb sounding slang, but "slaps" is the hip new slang the youth are using to describe good music, as in "this song really slaps". I dont get why its used positively like that since if someone said something slaps my first thought would be it sucks, as in it's so bad the singer deserves to get slapped.
36:55 "..There is a strange beauty to these horrors, and i cannot look away." I know exactly how he feels
yeah I feel like that describes the draw of horror stories
I had the feeling this was going to be Hanged King well before this was confirmed. The moment the masks were mentioned, I was thinking that was where it would go. I also feel certain that the concept was influenced by the Elric novels, since I recall it being mentioned that the fallen elf courts liked to make these kinds of human-torture musical instruments.
That voice, that cadence, those scripts. Storytelling perfection.
I like how it seems Alagadda is often told in stories with action. I find it fitting, as I do enjoy some medieval action!
Holy crap, dude, your VA work just keeps getting better.
14:58 that is some of the most amazing imagery I've heard from an SCP article, and the way Exploring Series reads it is perfect 🥰
I’m loving these long form vids, I look forward to your releases every week 👌😀 - keep up the amazing work!
Except when he spends 7 hours on a shite SCP, like 6000
58:07 That does sound awesome and metal as fuck, lol. Props to the author cause this is a amazing story and props to narrator for a excellent reading. This has become one of my favorites and I hope the author creates more.
This one might be one of the few that top the kaktusverse videos. Amazing job
49:33 "...which aren't that different from death metal titles."
I swear, I almost choked on my food when I heard that. lol
The fact this author managed to involve Carlo Gesualdo as a main character is simply incredible.
Carlo Gesualdo comes across as a massive chad. Literally getting stalked by an eldritch being and holds out for ages.

YOU OUTDID YOURSELF!!! AGAIN! The narration, combined with the music and exquisite text, makes for such a powerful experience! This SCP is exactly as it should: it instills the feelings of a dark, violent, beautiful fever dream!
The only channel where I'm happy a video is over an hour
Thanks for treating us to yet another Metaphysician masterpiece!
The narration, the story, the atmosphere, music, emotion, ALL OF IT! Marvellous.
I come back from work and this is what i get? God bless you TES!
I really like the SCP entries that find clever ways to connect themselves to other entries.
That's what I love about the SCP Foundation, there's over 1000 stories and tales and every once in awhile you'll find 1 SCP that's connected to 5 others or mentions them in passing. I was listening to an analysis/explores video the other day and they mentioned how an SCP had the name "Erik" written on the back of it and the narrator went on to mention like 3 or 4 other SCPs that all had the name Erik written on them or were otherwise connected to a kid or teenager named Erik (I think there was an indestructible drawing, a fridge that kills people, a magic calculator, and one or two other things)
I’m so glad Metaphysician has returned, this was a fantastic story
Cuckold is not a word I thought I'd ever hear on this channel 🤣🤣🤣
Alagadda cuckold hub. Thank me later.

This one and Thalassomania are simply phenomenal.
The narration of the journal was absolutely amazing!
Ahhhhhhh so good! Lovecraft-like material and SCP together, it's amazing.
This was a very enjoyable read and an amazing video, I always love reading the articles you cover before listening to your take on them, gives me a bit of a book club feeling
TES man you really showed your voice acting chops on this one . amazing.
I am particularly enjoying some of the background art on the recent episodes and this one especially. Whether or not it's actually much different than it has always been idk.
Your dramatic reading has gotten really damn good. This was great to listen to.
It's good to know you covered the last of Metaphysician's works. It's shame what happened for to him, espcially for not only doing Lovecraft inspired Scps but also giving us Sarkcism. Really wish we could what he could have written next. Nice Job.

why was he banned?
@Arkunus Stilshire he's a time traveler scp
I know what he means about art and obsession, go crazy trying to paint my sisters of battle army.
Something about the King in Yellow just connects more than other Lovecraftian concepts
I know why the Hanged King has sites set on Earth. They want to retrieve his crown, which was stolen from them by the first king of men: Adam El Assem
Oh boy, if that's true then we're doomed, I hope the four knights Hector, Lancelot, La Hire and Ogier be on the foundation side against the alagadda invasion

Ah, lovely, another SCP using the phrase "human components" to listen to on my walk to work in the dark.
I love the cosmic horror stuff. And that journal entry is reminiscent of some first person cosmic horror stuff. Love it
God this was amazing. I LOVE these long-form videos and your break down and explanations. Without you there are some SCP’s I wouldn’t be able to understand at all. This really is one of the my fav channels. You, ManlyBadassHero and Wendigoon are my Top 3!
Happy to see Meta return. Sad he was banned for plagiarism in the past, but as long as he learned his lesson, he is good in my book.
Incredible reading - nothing short of a thrilling recital. Bravo indeed!
Slaanesh would be proud of Alegadda! Excess and obsession come in many forms, and it makes that the more artistically inclined would be more vulnerable.
This is a great scp! The design of the Choir is a haunting and fascinating image, and immediately gets you interested. The story is also wonderfully done. It was a great descent into lovecraft madness, and that entire section with the unseen order of st. Jude was so unexpected and COOL! I was surprised to see some really good grimdark fantasy!
Let's goooooo. Another super long scp by only the best 👌
Definately my new favorite horror SCP, replacing SCP 3999. I love how it starts out as some light body horror and evoking a fear of going insane.
Then it spikes up towards the middle with a tour of some of the creepiest horror tropes when describing the songs of The Choir, never dwelling on any particular one for too long, yet never brushing past the suffering they cause.
Then the Crusade and the Foundation's defense provide a satisfying conclusion that the reader can still dwell upon. Beautifully done.
Dude, you have serious narration talent. You should consider doing professional audiobooks or podcasts. This is one of your best videos so far, and the enthusiasm and emotion you included in this video was phenomenal!
4:33. First time I've heard about someone behind the camera not surviving. Now, this is a terrific SCP...( popcorn 🍿)
Dude this whole Hanged King ark of the SCP universe is seriously amazing. Is there more stories? You should cover them
There are plenty more
Would love to see a story bout The Count of Monte Cristo
Now that would be a long one 😁
I laughed when he mentioned the letter from Alagada. "Hoo boi, shit's about to go down, yo."
These are getting scary! My imagination won't let me sleep, but I'm still listening. I'm so curious.
Many days I feel like a “human component.”
Lovecraftian SCP is legendary 👏
I love the emotion you put into this one. Its not over the top but really drives the emotion in the journals pages. Tastefully done my man.
Your readings are so great. 10/10 im glad to see your channel growing.
That kind of happened to me once when playing music or remembering a beat or when painting I was about in my twenties
The return of Alagadda. Excellent.
