Very nice. I like that there’s room to sit should you have visitors...I think a truck camper would be easier to drive than a big motorhome or towing a travel trailer...I also like that the color scheme is neutral and they don’t have the tacky printed fabrics that campers usually have.
I have previously owned two Lance campers and in my opinion there are only a couple other brands that might be equal to them. They are so well built but as time passed on we needed another floor plan. Another nice review. Thank You
My in 2001 Lance 1121 model is a great camper I love it but it's older I was going to look at the new campers but I can't find anything that I like better
Unless you use the truck 'as a truck' when you're not camping, spending 40-50k on a pickup and then adding the mid 40k for the camper on top would make it quite prohibitive indeed. For 100k honestly Id rather have a decent midsize diesel bus.
so true....we learned the hard way...be careful not to pay for brand new junk!...Buy quality....keep in mind there's not much floor space in campers...perhaps get a used travel trailer....see if you like that so can keep using your trucks....we ended up buying 2 new Tundra trucks so we both can pull the trailer whenever one of us was out of town. But we had/have a different set of circumstances, most people don't.
Had the diesel RV, 5th wheel, towable, teardrop, and tent camped - we pretty much have done it all. We live in Arizona so dispersed camping is the norm making truck campers the way to go due to clearance.
Every tour of the inside of any camper should show the slide outs 'in' to show where there is access when the slides are in. We will not be buying a camper that we can not access the bathroom or bedroom when the slides are in. Too bad the 1172 does not have a sliding bathroom door to make it accessible when the slide is in.
Thanks for your quick reply. In many cases, you can't open the slides on any RV's; such as in a Walmart parking lot, or on a Ferry, or even trying not to look like your overnighting somewhere your not supposed to be overnighting (city streets, etc.) etc. People still want to have access to their bathrooms, even if it's just to pull over on the side of the road to use the bathroom (stopping and putting out a slide just to use the bathroom doesn't seem practical. One company has a camper that allows you access to the bed, the bathroom, and the fridge when the slides are in. We think that's a huge benefit so that's what we'll go with.
Nice truck camper and great demo video. One major drawback is the price of these; broken down by per square foot costs, the cost is way over a regular trailer, 5th wheel or motorized RV. Maneuverability is great, but don't know if that alone can override the high cost. Love the rear slide and floor plan of the 1172, but am concerned that you cannot access the camper unless the rear slide out is out, which could be a problem when traveling.
This is really nice. May consider this instead of a TT. Too many choices, but it's fun looking. Your videos are the best. You give so much detailed information.
American RV You know I don't understand why they don't put in a larger bathroom sink, bigger & deeper there's room for it so why don't they do it ? Why don't you pass that along to Lance 😊
Really nice video, everything well explained except I didn't see battery storage was, perhaps I missed it. As you can by my picturel, I love my lance, I have a 2005 981, with every option Lance offered at that time. My problem is I've only used it a few times because my wife's health turn bad. I thought "sell it" but then I know how much we use to like it. Thanks for sharing,
This is a big unit I am assuming 1 ton dually , the only thing I would like to see is that 2 burner stove 1 gas one induction on each side ! thanks Ian !
American RV love this but have never driven a 1 ton truck. how long is everything. also is there anyway to affix solar? would like to avoid the highest cost of the Tiger and Earthroamer but my intent is to live full tome and would prefer to dry camp so would need lots of solar. also is a cassett toilet available for that same reason? can you hook a carrier to the back for a moped without sealing with a trailer?
Hey Ian, Excellent video. I am 6'6" what is the standard head room. Do you also take trades. I have a 2009 4 Slide Grand Junction 37QSB (Loaded) barely used and under cover. I have a 2001 7.3 Diesel Power Stroke Crew Cab and also already have part of the Happy Jack system already on my truck because I had a 1997 Lance Camper in which I sold back in 2003. 2 back surgeries and a fusion is why I want to sell. Thanks Steve in Pass Christian, Mississippi
sounds like a very good truck camper indeed ... pretty hefty price i guess but probably worth it ... on a very personal note though, why not have something like with a pop up top at the bedroom area so the bedroom won't feel so claustrophobic? also, i'd love to see a model that lets me have direct access from the the truck into the camper via the middle space between the two car seats in front ... that little window can be removed and turned into a narrow door yet still wide enough to let a man pass through ... i'm sure it can be done with some modifications to both the truck as well as the camper ... btw, was there some big water drops leaking onto that Commins Onan generator @ 06:45 ?
Its probably just me, but I absolutely hate sleeping on anything leather/pleather because it just feels clammy under the sheet in humid hot weather even with the AC on. I'd hope theres an option for cloth upholstery.
Years ago people would look at a standard pickup to haul a regular hitch trailer , that changed to a goose neck system but still a standard pick up . Then people when to club cabs with a dedicated flat rear deck for goose neck only use. I see all the truck campers limited by the shape of the rear pickup body. Why don't the pick up camper people make a rear body conversion sort of a flat deck and be able to expand more fully the rear removable RV system ??
heartland96a ... all pickup trucks can be bought with the chassis only plus the drivers cab ... yes, you can do, add, customize your truck however you want. What did you think all those Class C, Class C+'s chassis are with the Ram, Chevrolet & Ford cabs? Didn't even think about until just now, right? Lightbulb. Blink blinking & it's on. Oh yeah. No ShXt. Ever see the cable guy with the cherrypicker bucketlift, on what looks like a normal pickup truck. How about a tow truck, or better yet, an RV. Oh yeah! Classic Stoner.
What I was trying to describe was the fact that present pickup campers are limited by the width of the pickup truck tailgate / body . One could gain more space in the camper if the cargo body was removed, and a factory built unit could be put directly on to the pick up chassis. Yes you could do a custom camper and put it on a cab chassis , but you would still end up with a dedicated camper and would need to make a pick up cargo style body , where a pickup camper lets you have two vehicles in one but its a compromised design presently. the only other way to have an RV and a pickup is to by a toy hauler BUT those are much bigger and a lot more money. Do I make the idea a bit clearer.
Totally. That's all empty space, or I used a cram a couple things in there. Anyway, you def could have a bigger camper, if your truck bed was flat, but still had wheel wells. A flatbed, over the wheels would be too high, I'd think. So, you could take the bed off, and put a camper up there and it could be a full 8ft wide Although, I have seen a guy, with a camper on a wheel-over flatbed, and then he used chainlink fence to make a little dog kennel on one side and then had storage, on the other, in the empty spots.
HUGE MISTAKE....WHY no window in the front of this camper? We began w a class C motorhome in 78...our kids favorite, most memorable time was laying on top bunk above the cab, perched on on their elboes looking out the window as we drove over 75,000 miles over a 6 year period of time...they grew up LOVING watching the world go by looking out this front window...and we're puzzled as to why most RV's no longer have these windows.
Our children are grown up, have kids of their own...they still tell us their favorite times were spent perched on their elbows while looking out that window, ..ours never leaked, but we used that RV until it was ready for the junk yard!...Then we made HUGE mistake getting a double cab truck and biggest camper made...think was 14 feet total and it extended off the back bed several feet...my husband made it stronger by putting steel plates....that thing bounced back and forth so much...finally got rid of it, got a Class A Southwind that went south with the wind! LoL...we took a break in RV owning, then purchased a brand new Travel trailer, Cougar...its a lemon, has spent months in the shop being fixed...we should have asked for our money back ($32,000), we paid cash, was told our Tundra was perfect for pulling it...another LIE...so we purchased a bigger truck, ended up costing us $100,000 for both...but my husband was fighting cancer and he was in the hospital for several months....i was too emotionally spent to deal with it...its only 5 yrs old, the floors rotting due to numerous leaks, the outside is warped...when the toilet kept having problems we had a friend who owns a plumbing business...he put a camera down inside the tank and found it had been painted white and big patches of this paint has caused blockages and is why it won't empty properly. Now Curtis Trailers telling us, is out of warranty, NOT their problem. We've given up on this trailer and looking for a newer class C.... we wanted a big diesel pusher....44 ft long with 4 slides...but to our dismay, we learned our Steel Web building has 2 bay doors...is 65 by 44 ft...but the bay doors open only 12 ft and there's no fixing this! We don't want to park a nice motor-home out in the open and must keep it inside our storage building on our property.
The problem with campers is it needs to be shown ON the right truck and sell them as a package. All the right ties, all the right suspension, turn key ready to go. All you need is one set up and it will sell pretty fast. then set up another one. Its not hard to market and sale the whole package. Its is hard to visualize the camper on a truck when its sitting on the ground. I would be more inclined to sign on the dotted line if I could see the whole rig set up. Ya you would have to buy a truck and I am sure you could make a great deal on that truck, but you would have a turn key package all ready to go. No matter what they will need the right 350 dualy for this camper, match the colors, throw on some options and its a turn key package, brand new. Now that would sale!!
Dinnerandashow...I don't think it was a review rather a presentation or description of the unit. I think a review would be given after someone actually spent some time using the camper. Secondly, I don't think he would be much of a salesperson if he pointed out the negative! I think it was a very good presentation, now you can decide what you like and don't like, just like several others have done here. SMH
I like this it has some nice features and if ya break wind y'all ain't blowing momma and Junior out the back door... The bad part is the swing TV ready for U or me to wear it or a great big lump on the face.. I like the removable sink covers too and it looks as if y'all might be able to fold that cook top cover all the way back and use it as splash guard... This thing has all the elements of being a fully functional 4 thumbs and nubs up unit... Well thought out unit... Bad point is the USB and Elec. No shelf or table... I'm supposed to lay my shit on the floor have it stepped on by little monsters... Design flaw is the USB stuff it belongs in the galley with a laptop size accessory drawer... The pooper is still worse than a phone I could hurt myself in these me and booth superman would bump our shoulders and head getting undressed and don't drop the soap y'all still have no way of picking it up bending over... Better call the old lady if ya drop soap showering in that puppy.... The upstairs seems about as good as ya can get a cramped bed mount unit nobodies done better with one yet. This unit overall for what is is better than most and tolerable to some of em... I didn't see the price or how the windows work got a business call
They need to get that boy some O2. He talks like he's out of breath. Nice truck camper. Has a little bit of everything including right space in the right place. I'm sure the price will reflect that little bit of thinking and questioning.
500 lbs is to close for comfort. If I buy a truck camper I would only settle for the Lance 1172. Let me know when Lance able to use composites and get the weight down. I'll just use my 5th wheel until then.
That is a very misleading statement I left. Sorry. I'd like to see images that portrayed more of the surrounding environment. Not just closeup of cabinet, fridge, etc. Give me a wide angle walking in the door looking in. Show what it looks like looking from front to back (entire area) and from back to front. The closeups do nothing to portray what the space feels like. The video had a lot of information just no shots of what the interior space was like as a whole instead of little sections.
Meryl Streep is tired of this type of big camper bullying small cars on the highway....She is outraged and is crying. Won't you help Meryl Streep get everything she wants all the time?
I want to buy one but i see alot of them that sell for 10k. I would not want ro buy one new because of them not holding value i would one buy one if my payments were like $250 a month until i payed it off in case something happens you have a place to stay and a truck
Savino, what year 1172's are you looking at? In my experience Lance truck campers tend to actually hold their value better than most RV's out there. As for payments on a new one, not sure if we'd be able to get you under $250, but under $300 a month may be possible. If you're interested, I'd certainly give Camping World a call and see what they can do for you! Thanks for watching! -Ian Baker
IT IS GREAT BUT THE COST IS OVER MY LIMIT .........FOR CHEAP I WOULD JUST BUY FULL SIZE VAN WITH EXTENSION AND BUILD MY OWN THAT WOULD COST A LOT LESS AND CAN LIVE ALL; YEARS ROUND
After watching several of your videos I have noticed that you either have to guess how tall you are so I have to guess how much head space I would have or it is just a secret and you do not want people to know what the inside ceiling height is, because not once have you mentioned what the inside ceiling height is. I am 6'2." Please for now on mention these little details. It is these details that sometime make us want to purchase things but if we don't know and have to wait to find out what that detail is then we may not buy it, or find one that the detail is mentioned and buy it because we forgot to check that detail out with your product. Shoulder width in hallways and bathrooms is also an important detail you do not mention. Peace
Mo, sorry about that! In our newer videos, I try to give height for this exact reason. I am 6'0" to give you a frame of reference. Thanks for watching and for the advice, I appreciate it! -Ian Baker
MY COMMENT HAS NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT AMERICAN RV. PLEASE SPARE YOURSELVES THE PROBLEMS IN BUYING A LANCE CAMPER. I OWN A 992 MODEL AND IT HAS BEEN A TOTAL NIGHTMARE. WAY TOO MANY PROBLEMS TO LIST. MINE IS THREE YEARS OLD AND IT IS THE BIGGEST 48 THOUSAND DOLLAR MISTAKE I HAVE EVER MADE. YOU CAN GET SO MUCH MORE FOR YOUR MONEY IN ANOTHER TYPE OF RV. PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING
Kate Dunno, ALL RVs will have problems of one sort or another, A have learned. Even a $400,000 motor home. I own a Lance TT and lived in it for 5 months. Will live in it again at some point. Thought it would be trouble-free, but alas, it was not. Had to have the coupler replaced, and it's still not perfect. Flat roof has a low spot, of which the dealer told me there was nothing to do about it. Otherwise, all else seems to be working fine. Good luck in your travels.
I'm pretty sure the guys down at "Lance" love seeing this guy talk about their campers.
Very nice,Ian does a great job on these videos!
Just ordered one of these! Got the Midnight interior should be here in July..
lucky you. I just ordered the brochure, I like to look at it when I sleeping in my cardboard box.
Lol......its been a long time coming trust me
Hey
Thank You
This has so much storage. Thanks for the tour.
Nice review, I do believe this guy came out the womb as a salesman...lol.

My in 2001 Lance 1121 model is a great camper I love it but it's older I was going to look at the new campers but I can't find anything that I like better
I've been seriously thinking about buying a truck camper but I had no idea there were so incredibly expensive.
Unless you use the truck 'as a truck' when you're not camping, spending 40-50k on a pickup and then adding the mid 40k for the camper on top would make it quite prohibitive indeed. For 100k honestly Id rather have a decent midsize diesel bus.

Your not buying anything. You couldn't afford it. Your just trolling like me
@@maximusmeridius1272 Do you mind sharing the name of that camper that allows access to the bathroom?
wow, that's an amazing camper. better than alot of trailers!
What does the interior look like with the slides in? It doesn't look like you can enter with the back slide in. Thanks.
Are these custom built for individual needs? I see I wouldn't need the dinette, would rather have recliner.
I love that modern truck campers have a restroom. Sooo important for ppl with bowel or bladder issues lol
Issues? You mean like.....having to go every single day, several times per day? Ya, I think we all have those issues.
The big problem is that rear slide out blocks access to the door.
Thanks for pointing that out. That is a huge con.
Wow thats a great point. This is a super nice camper, but thats a huge issue that you cant do anything with the rear slide in.
This guy seriously gives the rv reviews.
Awesome rig. does the rear slide have to be out to enter the unit?
I can't see myself buying a truck camper that couldn't be used with the slide in. In some cases camping is not allowed to put your slide out
This is really nice. May consider this instead of a TT. Too many choices, but it's fun looking. Your videos are the best. You give so much detailed information.
Great presenter...found it very interesting ....amazing truck camper
American RV You know I don't understand why they don't put in a larger bathroom sink, bigger & deeper there's room for it so why don't they do it ? Why don't you pass that along to Lance 😊
Mmm... pretty nice, but the fridge is kind of far from the rest of the kitchen.
Of course, "far" is a relative term in a truck camper.
So important to have those grab handles especially after a few drinks !!! 😊
Nice review, just wondering why tank capacities were not included in the review.
Thanks for sharing,
lost my mom Aug 30th. my dad and i feel the same way about stuff she was a part of.
I would like to see this camper with the slides in. Is it usable with the slides in?
Ian, nice job - one of the better camper videos made. Wish you were in Arizona.
This is a big unit I am assuming 1 ton dually , the only thing I would like to see is that 2 burner stove 1 gas one induction on each side ! thanks Ian !
Lovely..... truck campers have gotten much much better!!!
We have a 2015 855s We love it. Thinking of going long box and bigger camper. This is awesome
This thing is bigger than my 2-story, 4-bdrm, 3-bath house! Can you park your truck in there too??
Thumbs up. Is this camper suitable for full time?
it would be awesome if it is.
Robert
it is full time here in texas lmao
American RV love this but have never driven a 1 ton truck. how long is everything. also is there anyway to affix solar? would like to avoid the highest cost of the Tiger and Earthroamer but my intent is to live full tome and would prefer to dry camp so would need lots of solar. also is a cassett toilet available for that same reason? can you hook a carrier to the back for a moped without sealing with a trailer?

Thanks Steve in Pass Christian, Mississippi
Can you enter the camper with the rear slide pushed in?
Unfortunately not as the rear slide completely closes off the entryway. Thanks for watching and for the question!
-Ian Baker
what's the price of this unit thanks Mike
sounds like a very good truck camper indeed ... pretty hefty price i guess but probably worth it ...
on a very personal note though, why not have something like with a pop up top at the bedroom area so the bedroom won't feel so claustrophobic?

btw, was there some big water drops leaking onto that Commins Onan generator @ 06:45 ?
dadautube buy a class c then
I wonder if you can make a cuppa or lunch with the slides in? Don’t want to have to open them on quick stops.
I have a lance 1121 model and it's very usable with the slide in
Its probably just me, but I absolutely hate sleeping on anything leather/pleather because it just feels clammy under the sheet in humid hot weather even with the AC on. I'd hope theres an option for cloth upholstery.
Ian, where are the deep cycle batteries & power amp located?

please do a hook up and in hook video for truck campers.....thanks
Wow....very well thought out. Do you have any models with a rear kitchen? I saw one and REALLY liked it
Yes moisture
I love this Camper.

we wanted a big diesel pusher....44 ft long with 4 slides...but to our dismay, we learned our Steel Web building has 2 bay doors...is 65 by 44 ft...but the bay doors open only 12 ft and there's no fixing this!
We don't want to park a nice motor-home out in the open and must keep it inside our storage building on our property.
any LP gas lines or water line in a slide worries me. How do you service it if and when one goes bad?
Can passengers ride in the Truck camper while in motion? Does it have seat belts ? How many?
Thanks in advance
What's the bill for this? Also have you begun getting the 1172 2018 model?
How much do they start at?? Cause I'm waiting for my inheritance and i'm trying to get an idea for my future
Be careful of sales people giving a review.
They mention nothing negative.

I just posted a camper tour video and this put mine to shame so fast hahahah. One day Ill upgrade!
Thank you!
still pretty darn nice on the inside though
this is a beautiful camper best I seen thank you for presentation
Id be happy to just live in this thing.
Nice camper, very good presentation.
Magazine racks? Like for my AR-15? Those magazines? I haven't read a magazine in forever...
Finally a descent without the crazy $
Looks like you can not get in the door with slide out slide in !
Very nice, but the slide in campers need to start going to bat wing awnings to maximize to outside areas.

Hi. Where are 110 volt plugs?
A este camper se le puede instalar en un Ford F-250?, y en que otras pick up por favor, gracias.
Love this camper!
A full oven attached to the cooktop beats out a microwave any day of the week.
what happens if the rear door is open and the furnace starts... u could burn the door and put peoples life in Jepordy
Fun times!
If you want something over the top look at a host triple slide Mammoth
I love this layout
Very nice camper. ....but to say that it has good counter top space is something not many will agree with you on. ...lol ;-)
They need to get that boy some O2. He talks like he's out of breath. Nice truck camper. Has a little bit of everything including right space in the right place. I'm sure the price will reflect that little bit of thinking and questioning.
Like! Looks better than the other camper's ive seen!
I have a Ford one ton super duty, but it is not a dually. In addition I'm six foot 3 inches. What would you recommend?
Long bed with the combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 3284 lbs.
500 lbs is to close for comfort. If I buy a truck camper I would only settle for the Lance 1172. Let me know when Lance able to use composites and get the weight down. I'll just use my 5th wheel until then.
I always want to get a feel for the inside, not closeups. Show me what it feels like inside.
A slide...any slide is just an avenue to rodents, insects, drafts and water to get inside the RV...any RV
Would this sleep a family of six ? looks great .
Dude, it's a truck camper.
Very nice !
Gr8 equipment
Got a fun game for you - Count the number of times he says "Go ahead". Otherwise a good video...
He is a very cute guy.
how much?
40intrek $40,000
Sorry guys , host and eagle cap have changed the game. BIG TIME !!
And it costs as much as the truck that carries it....No thanks
I do not like the floor plan you cannot use it with the slide outs in who in the world thought of that
Count the "you can go ahead and...." occurances. Gotta love northerners.
Thanks for watching!

very interested price tag
water tank?
$60k for a truck camper? someone needs a head doctor. ..just my opinion
IT IS GREAT BUT THE COST IS OVER MY LIMIT .........FOR CHEAP I WOULD JUST BUY FULL SIZE VAN WITH EXTENSION AND BUILD MY OWN THAT WOULD COST A LOT LESS AND CAN LIVE ALL; YEARS ROUND
That was so cool.
i loke the winnebago in the back round
Very nice van but I do not like the dark brown prefer white inside.
four seasons.....insulation specs???
It is too bad you have to buy a giant dually for these campers. Not so convenient you may as well buy a travel trailer.
Thanks for video
After watching several of your videos I have noticed that you either have to guess how tall you are so I have to guess how much head space I would have or it is just a secret and you do not want people to know what the inside ceiling height is, because not once have you mentioned what the inside ceiling height is. I am 6'2."
Please for now on mention these little details.

Офигенно!!!))Спасибо за обзор!!!)))
Good luck in your travels.
teller of truth you need to get out in the fresh air little more often or pop some happy pills.
You need to lighten up a little bit.
