  • First time towing with my new f350. I've had it about a week and half now. This is only about 8300lbs which I know is not that heavy but it was a good first initial Impression of how it feels and so on. I tow this type of setup hauling air conditioning equipment on this flat bed trailer regularly/weekly... also a 32ft bumper pull toy hauler which I'll try to do a video on in the near future. Truck has 3:55 rear end gearing

    Nice truck , I have a 2022 f350 platinum long bed diesel, but one of the things I like the most is that it has a 48 gal tank , I ordered it December 2021 and received it April 2022

    I love the truck! I just got a 2021 f350 poerstroke and have had 23 4'×5' round bales behind it, probably arond 28,000- 30,000 lbs. I'll tell ya, that truck is insane! Hauled it like it was a 14' camper! I have never driven a truck with power like that!

    I got my 22 F350 LB in April (your exact truck) and tow a 13K lb 5th wheel. Going up to Tahoe it pulled 65 mph without issue or even straining the motor. I had a 2018 F250 gasser. There is no comparison.

    • @avgdadgarage1982
      @avgdadgarage1982  2 роки тому +1

      👍 I agree there is no comparison gas vs. diesel as far as power/torque when towing/under load. I know there are guys out there who swear my the new 7.3 gasser... towing 5-6k lbs is not the same as 12k+... that's when the diesels shine and that's why we buy them.

    Congrats, nice truck. I have a 21 F350 short bed and love it!! FYI on the Ford Powerstroke engine brake, the difference between ON and AUTO is: ON will apply full engine braking anytime the accelerator is released and will continue to slow the vehicle unless the accelerator is pressed. AUTO applies less aggressive engine braking and will only prevent the trucks speed from increasing at the moment either the accelerator or brake pedal is released. It helps hold the trucks speed such as when descending a grade.

      Correct similar to the exhaust brake modes on the Ram I had. The Ram just does more in my opinion/stronger exhaust braking effect

    Good tow video. Smart to go with the 3” hitch. I don’t think I’d like 2 adapters before I put my hitch in. I can only dream of what that tows like. I really enjoy my 2006 King Ranch Superduty. I pull a dump trailer a fair bit, and it is usually around 11-12,000 loaded. My 6.0 pulles that really well, and you have an extra 150 hp and about another 500 lb/ft of torque. Must be such a pleasure to drive.

    • @avgdadgarage1982
      @avgdadgarage1982  2 роки тому +1

      Yes sir I am blessed to be able to have a truck like this. Those 6.0's are great if you can bulletproof it keep it going. They sound awesome 👍... I almost think these new ones are too quiet.. needs an intake and exhaust but I'm in CA so emissions very strict. Will prob get an intake on here to get a little more noise

    The CEO Flying J was informed he needs to cut his intake of DEF by 26% in coming months! I would stock up a lot on it. Flying J handles about 30% of the Nations areas! They bring it in by rail. I figure a lot of people are going to det delete! You may know, but I wanted to pass it on! On UA-cam, Martha Trucker site, he posted a second & full video of a meeting. If I had to buy one, it would be like yours! God bless, & clear roads!

      @@avgdadgarage1982 That was one of the reasons to go with a " New 06", from the folks down in Geogria. This truck was overhauled from the ground up. Been watching him for a while, and I needed to replace my 97. Looking at the mods, he done to the 6.0, made it worthwhile. So less than half the cost of a new one, we've been very satisfied with choice, No DEF! YES! PS, No Cat ether, just a resonator on 4 in. In Dark Stone/Pueblo Sand on the bottom
