I haven't been watching any Star Wars since Revenge of the Sith, I only ever watch people making UA-cam videos about Star Wars because I have neither the time nor the emotional investment to give it a watch at all. I'm not actively watching the show, but after the halfway point I'm just going: "wtf did they spend that $180 million on?" Maybe it's in the latter half of the season (or they were preemptively building sets for season 2 with season 1 funding), but right now the most expensive stuff I'm seeing is maybe 1 or 2 set pieces and some costume design. That or they paid Carrie-Ann Moss an absolute mint to come on the show for the brief period we get to see her as a Jedi.
You're right, life is too short, it makes no sense watching this show unless you're reviewing them for a good laugh because the only people having fun in this show so far are those who get to play pretend in these huge expensive movie sets and get paid for it. THIS show is good Star Wars. It aligns with George Lucas' message/goal of making movies/shows for 12 years old kids about to enter their adulthood and choosing between good and bad. We've already seen this change with Yaddle in Tales of the Jedi. As for Kimiro, I think the same, I noticed that he might not want Mae, just as a textbook, but maybe something more. And as for Mae, since she found out that Oshie is alive and they saw her, her turn would make sense, it reminds me of Vader and Luke in episode 6.

I think that market (which is by no means infallible) has a way of hurting itself. It's times like this I am reminded, humanity has never really been better equipped for annihilating itself as it is now. Accounting for inflation, each of the prequels had a budget around $185 million. The Acolyte was around $180 million. I get that there’s more watch time in a series, but for the same price Disney could have created a film with a more focused plot (and make money from a theatrical release before dropping it on D+).

Everyone knows this is the FLAGSHIP for the new REY Trilogy coming up. Right? Can’t come up with anything new by themselves. So they’ve decided to create a beginning before the prequel trilogy with the only thing they care about. Self images and self inserts. It was said that the thread was the beginning and the Jedi perverted it. The Rey Sequel Trilogy will course correct to that narrative. Retconning everything Lucas created for the majority. Thinking that will thrust the Rey character to center stage much like Luke or even Vader was. And for the laughs, ol’ p*nis head was just added to that retcon list. Among a slew of already slain canon. I guess anyone can be in Hollywood these days as long as you fit the agenda I guess. Not really acolyte related, but adam did bring it up. I know we all wanted to see our favorite characters come back for one last hurrah as a hero. But lets face it, your past hero has been getting the senior discount for a hot minute. Logically, Their only function story wise is to pass the torch and/or die. For football fans thats like thinking we can win the big one if we could just lure joe montana out of retirement. Spoiler alert: you aint winning a damn thing, and montana is probably gone before the end of the 1st quarter due to a broken hip or some shit.
I'm starting to think this show is about appreciating stepfathers, because Sol is more of a dad to Mae. And Osha is following orders from another man's command. If you think about it, the first Jedi to die was a woman and the male Jedi had to kill himself.

Nobody hates Star Wars like Disney employees. I guess good old Kathy Kennedy has a lot of bitterness towards George and Steven because she has basically destroyed everything LucasFilm's owns. Willow TV series was so bad, Disney removed it and they will never put that s@it on physical media.

Can’t come up with anything new by themselves. So they’ve decided to create a beginning before the prequel trilogy with the only thing they care about. Self images and self inserts.
It was said that the thread was the beginning and the Jedi perverted it. The Rey Sequel Trilogy will course correct to that narrative. Retconning everything Lucas created for the majority. Thinking that will thrust the Rey character to center stage much like Luke or even Vader was.
And for the laughs, ol’ p*nis head was just added to that retcon list. Among a slew of already slain canon.
I guess anyone can be in Hollywood these days as long as you fit the agenda I guess.

I grew up with Billy Dee Williams. I thought he was coolest! Still do. I never once dwelled on him being black. No he was a cool ass character. Well written. You knew there was a backstory, something went down. But in the end he would have your back. Black never once crossed my mind as a kid. Cause why? Cause he was cool and well written. So whats up with this shows excuse? How did SW become a vehicle to push ideals that none of the fans are even concerned about? Its a galaxy far far away! SW is dead. Has been for a long time. They can keep scraping that nostalgia barrel, but it just isnt working anymore. I only watch this to see how bad its gonna be. And when I say watch I mean...i fast forward through a lot of the walking and staring parts. And the director has that speech about just faking it till you make it in hollywood. Such total BS. She was lucky. Got thrown a bone. Knew someone. I know how the entertainment industry works. I just think its sad no one is saying anything. Even Dave Filoni. Whats that dudes deal? Just trash shows.
'The Acolyte' = 'The Aco Bud Lyte' and just as the Bud Light execs chose to alienate core customers, 'The Acolyte' alienates core Star Wars fans and it's going to heavily damage Disney's stock price, market share, and long-term customer loyalty.

I can guarantee you that in 20 yrs Disney will be making money off The Acolyte. Not because it's good but because it's so bad. Then they will try to do a season 2 in the future and it will be bad again, but it won't have the same status. Gonna be some documentary about it also. This is so bad its good. The merch is gonna be worth a lot also. Star Wars will be good again. Once new management comes in.

I know we all wanted to see our favorite characters come back for one last hurrah as a hero. But lets face it, your past hero has been getting the senior discount for a hot minute. Logically, Their only function story wise is to pass the torch and/or die.
For football fans thats like thinking we can win the big one if we could just lure joe montana out of retirement. Spoiler alert: you aint winning a damn thing, and montana is probably gone before the end of the 1st quarter due to a broken hip or some shit.
I'm starting to think this show is about appreciating stepfathers, because Sol is more of a dad to Mae. And Osha is following orders from another man's command. If you think about it, the first Jedi to die was a woman and the male Jedi had to kill himself.
I just want to thank you Adam for suffering through all of this. I just can't do it. My Mouse House subscription is canceled but i was able to watch the first four episodes. Hang in there because I want to be updated about where the crap flows next. I think the sith lord is Carrie Ann Moss. Just think about it.

The funniest scene was when they learned that the wookie lived in the forest, then few min later they all gather to look at the forest and say out loud that the wookie must be in the forest 😂 I just can’t believe how stupid it all is, my brain cells are dying watching this

It's a sad state of affairs when we consider that, in the grand scheme of things, an episode that (when you rip off the Star Wars skinsuit) is a lot of 'tell not show', character interactions/priority changes that make no sense and a damn cop-out cliffhanger is _an improvement_ over last week's episode?
