I'm Mexican - American, so born and raised in the USA. Since I was a 1 year old, we would go to our small rural town in Mexico. A population of about 500 I believe. They have a a football league that involves other small communities in the area. This video of Selby Town reminds me of going to our small town home games. I've had more fun at local games than elite, money oriented teams. It's the sense of community, shit talking (all good in fun) and beer drinking. Always support local, that's the heart of the culture.
£20 for hospitality is excellent value, I just checked my teams hospitality prices, they range from £110 to £13,000 which lets be honest is ridiculous, Selby is an hour away by far so I think I'll seriously consider going, thanks for the video!

It depends how it's portrayed imo. This video was excellent. Highlighted the funny non league quirks while still being respectful. Many vloggers will want to belittle the non league and that can do clubs more harm than good

A lot of UA-camrs prefer clicks over content so anything outside of the Top division(s) they don't care about, bloody shame really. I live in Canada now so miss the Non league stuff from back home but Ellis and Smiv cover that for me 😂

Lol, I’ve tried making Lower and Non League vlogs. It’s hard when the atmosphere is 3 men and a dog. You need a sparkling personality as Ellis has. Mine are now like a general vlog with a 20 second clip of the game at the end. Never underestimate what a great job Ellis does of making and editing these vlogs. It’s easy to make vlogs but bloody difficult to make them as entertaining as these.

Tier 4 & 5 in England is still professional. The real fun starts around tier 6 or 7.

Go to any college division 2 or 3 on single A baseball club, it's the same setting on our side of the pond.
This is football heritage. Be it watching the champions league, premier league or just your local club, football is the best sport in the world. Amazing video lads

From the US. I love lower league football and this solidifies the reason why. Please do some more videos like this.
You should contact 20 or so “famous chefs” and organise a all in one match day hospitality event at “struggling clubs” all on the one match day of a week-“ hospitality week”.
$120 a head for a class meal/lunch ,30 people min. and that’s more money than a club make in a month.
Make it an annual event.
They also won 2-1 in a friendly against National League side York City btw!!!
This was great. I haven't understood almost nothing that the supporters have said, but they said it with so much passion I felt in love with that club. Best luck, Selby ❤

What your vlogs seem to have over a lot of other content creators, is a genuine enthusiasm for the clubs you visit.
You might have a laugh about things but it never comes across as at the expense of them or belittling them.

Visited Selby a few years back watching my former local team, Hallam FC. Great experience and a nice ground for the level. Not one for the prawn sandwiches so didn't give the hospitality a crack, sadly!

Another banger from the man himself!! This kind of reminds me of some of the minor league sport experiences you could have in the states. Specifically with hockey and the NHL the tickets are often very pricey, the club seats are nice but everything food or drink wise is still expensive. You can go to one of the lower league games and have a blast for a fraction of the price. Obviously quality of the game may not be the same, but for an overall experience you can't beat it. The one nice thing that some pro sports do in the states is a student rush ticket. Some teams you can get a free ticket for any unsold seat for a minimum price of around $20 or in some cases they are free. You just have to take your student ID from high school or college to the ticket office. Not sure if any EPL or lower league teams run any sort or similar promotion in the UK.
100% agreed on the quality and availability of lower-league seats for hockey. I can take my family of 3 to see our local ECHL team play for the price of a single ticket to see the nearest NHL game, and we joke that there's not a bad seat in the arena (mainly because the furthest seats from the ice are less than 26 rows up).

One of the best experience I had as a sports spectator was an English ice hockey game between Coventry and Sheffield. Great atmosphere and being able to get right by the ice and it kicked off like this video. Absolute carnage. Loved it.@@tthaas

Great video Ellis, I love non league football & visit the lower leagues in Scotland. One observation, I noticed Lino’s in 10th tier in England. Very seldom ever see Lino’s lower than 7th their down in Scotland.
