@@awaydaysfootball Ellis mate you have to go to watch a Guernsey FC game in the island of Guernsey, Channel Islands. Ultras are mad, brilliant atmosphere, lovely island!!
"Welcome to the Isle of Mann... i'm disappointed, i've seen several females". There's a hundred ways to say that joke but you fucking nailed it son. Genuinely laughed out loud. 10/10 delivery.
Me and my friends went to the Isle of Man for an away day to see them play West Didsbury and Chorlton a couple seasons back. Atmosphere was fantastic, we took about 200 fans over and there were players from both teams in that 1886 bar drinking and partying with us after the game. (both teams ended up getting promoted not long after so it was a bit of a pre-emptive end of season do). Definitely going back this season!
Bury fan here, IOM away is the best away day of the season. Last year AFC took about 750 across and was all out with the players the night after, with Bury FC reforming this year I reckon there could be at least 1000 going over, might be worth a visit. Tidy little ground as well
0:50 - Pointless fact - if you're wondering what that flashing purple light is at the top of Ellis's phone, it's the infrared proximity sensor. You can't see it with the naked eye, however some cameras don't filter out infrared light very well so it shows up as a purple LED. You can also try it with a TV remote, as most of them use infrared emitters.
I don't normally comment but I currently live on the Isle of Man and would like like to point out we are not part of the UK although we are very similar to the UK we are independent and have our own government, other than that great video and really nice to see people giving recognition to the island
Also forgot to mention the reason the kick off are in the evening is so you can go watch other teams in the local league before you go to Fc Isle of Man
That’s interesting! I’m just reading into this a bit more, are you considered to have British citizenship or do you have your own type of passport for the Isle of Man? And allegedly you don’t need a passport to travel between the common travel area, so if you decided to fly to the UK, that’s not considered a domestic flight as the Isle of Man is it’s own entity? Sorry for the questions I’m just curious
@@benandrews5742they’re not actually independent like this guy says, they’re a self governing territory like jersey and guernsey. They have British passports and king Charles is called “the lord of man” they don’t have a spot at the UN or anything like an actual independent country would.
@@thejohnny119 you are completely wrong we have our own passport, and even though we're a self governing territory we are still independent from the UK with our own rules that although a lot are similar to the UK we have a lot of difference as well.
@@benandrews5742 that is true you just need ID went traveling to and from the UK to the isle of man, we also don't have British citizenship, plus we have our own currency even though the pound is usable on the island
Guernsey FC were the flag bearers for island ‘nation’ teams competing in the pyramid starting back in 2012. Interestingly, Isle of Man FC’s first match as a team was against Guernsey when the two islands formed an “air bridge” link during Covid lockdowns when both islands had removed local restrictions but the UK was still restricted. Recommend a trip to Guernsey to check out the Green Lions before we get relegated this season 😅
They compete in the island games against the isle I live in which is Anglesey. We got silver at the games last year ( just football) and before that we got gold
The reason they kick off at 6:30 is because local clubs in the I.O.M league didnt like the idea of them playing in the english system and so to avoid fixture clash FC I.O.M play at the later time
I used to live on the Isles of Scilly who have the worlds smallest football league (as recognized by the Guinness World Records) It literally has 2 teams 😆 Good idea for a video & good exposure for the Isles ☺️ Proper Sunday league but another shirt to add to the collection.
If you’re looking for a tropical island to go watch a game, I highly recommend Barbados, sure it’s one hell of a flight but just make a holiday out of it whilst you’re there. I went to a game there about 10 years ago on a family holiday in my teens and I was pleasantly surprised 😂 thank me later
And just to add to this, it’s a place you’re extremely safe in and they love and welcome tourists, they’d probably absolutely love to have you show off their clubs and country etc. of course with all places theirs good and bad but for the most part you’re extremely safe in Barbados, especially when it’s such a small place 😂
Ah Ellis I love the Bowl! A lovely little stadium and probably one of the cosiest our isles have to offer. That as well as the fact its home to the Isle of Man. Keep up the good work!
The Isle of Man is proper famous within its own right. I'm sure you've heard of the TT Races? Well the football club play in the North West counties league, so they tend to play clubs from in and around Lancashire. My local non-league club Longridge Town play in the same division and took about 100 fans over last time they played.
I rhink you should go to gran canaria in the canary islands to watch UD Las Palmas. Such a great island with good football culture. They are also unique as they are in Laliga and recently had to delay a game because their team missed their own flight
@@user-zt9gh7gs8 hey don’t knock it until you try it. I’m a huge football fan as well, but beaver stadium during a whiteout is the best sports atmosphere I’ve ever personally witnessed

Started to watch it about 12h ago (it's been out for 13h), saw the griddy and paused it, went to bed and had a good night sleep and then fired it up again only to see the griddy again. I'm not mad but what is next for the channel? The shimmy shimmy and flossing? On a different note, love the channel and the football part of the channel is good too ;D
In Iceland there is as a team called íbv that plays on a small island with has the population of under 5000 and are one of the most successful teams in iceland. They also play on a mountain.

You know, teams from Mallorca or the Azore islands play in the first or second tiers of spanish and potuguese football. I don't get why you are SO shook by the fact that an Isle of man team could play in english high level :D
Ellis every English team you’ve ever seen is on an island. Arguably every team ever.
I was about to point that out 😂
