I love finnish christmas songs , I know by heart and sing almost every single and even I'm not a Finn 😉😜 thanks for reaction !😍 Jarkko is my favorite:)
Song name is Mielenrauhaa (Piece of mind). The concept is "Heavy Christmas" with various finnish heavy metal singer / players..
Heavy Christmas is a translation of the Finnish Raskasta joulua. It's a name given to
particular Christmas concerts performed by metal band singers and musicians. As you might know Finland has more metal bands per capita than anywhere in the world.
Jarkko is composer, vocalist, basist and quitarist. He plays both bass and quitar upside down as he is leftie. Or if left handed instrument he reverses strings. He also plays drums and keys. He does not do written notes, at all. He has never taken a single singing lesson as he prefers his original signature.
This song was written specifically for Jarkko for his Christmas album, you can find heavier versions from the Raskasta Joulua live shows. In the Finnish language every letter is pronounced strongly, we don't have silent letter like you have in english, so r is strong here. :)
This is part of Finnish Heavy Christmas project, that has long history 15yrs or so. It is superpopular in Finland. Finnish Metalheads singing Christmas songs. Many arrangements are in heavy style, however this one is part of the 'acoustic heavy christmas' series, so bit different. Project has released numerous albums and tours every year are popular. Jarkko toured a lot with them in the early days, but has been focusing on his own (ever sold out) Christmas Church Concert Tour past 7 or 8 years. He managed to squeeze in couple heavy christmas gigs last year.
Heavy Christmas tour will start this Friday:)
Covid-19 came back knocking and cancelled that fun from us yet again.
@@syndrooma1 There was a livestream at least? Not the same of course...
Quitarists here are Tuomas Wäinölä and Erkka Korhonen - two most well known Finnish heavy metal quitarists. Erkka (on the right hand side of Jarkko) is the founder of the Heavy Christmas project.
Raskasta Joulua- Tulkoon Joulu. Marko and meny boys. Amazing.
I really enjoyed those acustic guitars 04:24! The way he picked those strings and that guality right there... yes pls!!
That's how we pronounce R here in Finland 😉 Not in your throat, but with your tongue. Heavy Christmas is POWERFUL 🤩❤
😁 Reminds me of those Finish hootenannys my colleagues & I had with our host families in Finland. That's when I was first introduced to this cool guy. Sweet song.💜
Look for Raskasta Joulua. To see the whole official concert of all metal bands and singers together Christmas songs ( metal style)
