    Lyrics:
    LET THERE BE CHRISTMAS
    (J-P Leppäluoto)
Snow on the fields, silent streets
it is long left behind, the hopelessness of autumn
    (Ville Tuomi)
The stream of memories, the tales of childhood
The message of Christmas is a new opportunity
    (Ilja Jalkanen)
It's Christmas again, so rejoice now
a child has been born to us tonight
    (Pasi Rantanen)
let there be hope to the peoples of earth
let prisoners be let free from their prisons
let the seed of faith raise to the surface
    let there be peace endless
    (Antti Railio)
I'd like to join along, with the shepherds
to forget the haste and the noise so tiresome
    (Kimmo Blom)
When there was the dawn, did anyone know,
    that this first Christmas
    would change the history
    (Tuple Salmela)
It's Christmas again, so rejoice now
a child has been born to us tonight
    (Tony Kakko)
let there be hope to the peoples of earth
let prisoners be let free from their prisons
let there be love, in the chest of men
Then there will be Christmas with us.
    (Marco Hietala)
The eternal Christmas, if you wish to find,
open your heart and you will meet the lord.
    (Ari Koivunen)
You won't find gold, not a feast,
    (Jarkko Ahola)
you'll only find a crib and a stall so simple.
It's Christmas again, so rejoice now
a child has been born to us tonight
    (Anthony Parviainen)
let there be hope to the peoples of earth
let prisoners be let free from their prisons
let the seed of faith raise to the surface
    let there be peace endless
    (Ari koivunen
It's Christmas again, the bells are jingling
somewhere a mother, is swaddling their children to a crib.
    (Marco Hietala)
Let there be a real feast, let Jesus
    be the lord of it
let there be love, in the chest of men
Then there will be Christmas with us.
Just an amazing song🤘, thank you for reacting to it😊
    Have a nice day😊

Traditional Christmas songs are often quite sad, devout and depressing. Actual translation from Finnish Christmas song (as true as I can come up right now): "Life lasts only short while and even that time is dismal and tedious. Hey Christmas elves hop around, it is the most joyful time!"

'Tulkoon joulu' means 'May/Let there be Christmas'. This Christmas song was made maybe in the 90s, The heavy version about a decade later, think it was after 2k.

I think it was published in 1986 and original drafts of the song were circa 1979-1980.

@@blegi1245 I stand corrected. I just heard it first time in the 90s, I think. Maybe it had gained momentun by then.

@@timomastosalo it's been recorded by many different artists over the years including for example Suvi Teräsniska in 2009. Pekka Simojoki is a quite obscure finnish gospel musician. His most recognized works are the 5 songs he has composed for the current 1986 version of finnish evangelical lutheran church hymn book. Herra, kädelläsi(hymn 517) being propably the most recognized. Unlike all 5 of the hyms, which have lyrics by Anna-mari Kaskinen, he both composed and wrote the lyrics for Tulkoon Joulu.

@@blegi1245 Yeah, I know both these names well, but for great audience they may be nearly unknown. Only I rarely think when some song was made, if there isn't a telltale sign, and I'm no pro.

Many late, and hello from the Grove! Raskasta Joulua is a christmas tour consisting of f.eks Marco Hietala, J.P. Leppäluoto (Dark Sarah), Ari Koivunen (Tuomas' gf), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), and my favorite Jarkko Ahola. They sell out churches and arenas all over Finland during Christmas period. I'd gladly pay an arm and kidney to get them to bring this show to Norway
