How To: Install Terminator X EFI on any LS Engine

- If you plan on installing a Terminator X on any LS engine, this video is for you! Terminator X works on any LS-based engine including common 4.8, 5.3, or 6.0 truck engines (often referred to as Lq4, lq9, LM7, L33, etc.)

The terminator comes without alternator wiring. You need to buy the 20$ 1-wire pigtail to wire to a 12v ignition source. The pigtail has a resistor to reduce 12v to 5v. If you wire it 12v direct, without the resistor it will burn up the alternator.
The starter is also wired separately. It's grounded through the body, and the main power is connected directly to the battery lug. Your trigger wire for the bendix can be wired to the 12v out from ignition or a simple momentary switch.
The fan wires to a universal 4 pin relay. And you use holley I/O's(inputs and outputs) in this case output. It can ground trigger the relay for the fan at set desired temp. Or 12v trigger the relay at set desired temp.
+or- is an option for the output in the software.
You would think for the ridiculous price I paid for this thing it would at least come with the alternator set up. Starting to regret this more and more as I get farther.

I follow Sloppy Mechanics and based on Matt’s example, I bought a Terminator X system. I replaced an aftermarket system and followed the instructions- easy installation and it fired right up. Very happy 😊

Never has a video fit me so well, also have a Ls powered Studebaker. It runs a stock ecu, I believe I need to change that to a terminator.

gulfdawg2806 I have a drive by cable and you can use pretty much any tb. If u have a drive by wire I’m not sure on that one. I have never messed with a drive by wire.

Think Im gonna go with this aswell. Got a 71 Camaro with an LS1, LS6 intakes, patriot heads and comp cam. Currently stock ECU and its idling really badly since its not tuned. (bought it like this)

Will it support A/C system like a Vintage Air? I know when the compressor comes on the Idle increases? Also can my Terminator Max 24 tooth be upgraded to DBW/54tooth down the road without buying an entire new kit?
Can you tune more than one table at a time? Or do you have to save then cycle key? I’ve seen a UA-cam video of a car being time where you can make multiple/live changes and it was really nice.
Very informative video and I have learned a lot but I will have to say that there are no 326 cubic inch LS engines, there is a 325 though.
What about the alternator pigtail. Does that not come with the holly terminator x? And if no what is the solution? I'm running truck alternator. Think originally was a 2 wire.
I have a stock map sensor on truck intake, do I use that or do I use the ecm 1 bar map sensor and hook up a line to intake?
Can I run the red wire that needs power when cranking off my fuse box with a fuse tapper ?

Looking for part numbers for the Holley ultra low ram intake fuel rail hardware. Fuel line crossover etc. running the xmax kit with fuel transducer. An -8 feed and an -6 return. Looking to do the same as shown here.

What I am curious about is how do run the lighting system? And the radio etc. Do I just run the harness as usual then run power to the factory fuse panel? And run everything else off that? My car is gonna be strictly track (I think) but his is for the street.
The fuse panel should be fine to run that stuff on its own correct or do I need to run the Holley to it somehow? Thanks!

Are you guys going to do a video covering Ford Foxbody install I'm having a issue with my IAC plug Holley harness has 4 wires for iac and Foxbody iac has 2 wires so I guess I'm losing a output not to mention Holley dual boost control valve uses up 2.

HOLLEY I need help 😫 handheld just flashes white just like in this video when he powers on but mine keeps flashing can't get it to do anything else but flicker the white screen.
Im looking to run this system on an ls swap, ill also be running water/meth injection, the w/m injection has a failsafe ill be installing that drops boost and timing if it notices a problem in w/m flow, how do i get this to work with this system if this already controls boost and timing

Will Holley ever have support for the newer transmissions like the 6/8/10L90 transmissions on gen 3/4 motors? I would pick up the terminator in a heartbeat for my project if I could do so. I'm very sick of getting gapped by fords just because the immense advantage having 10 gears has. these 10 speed transmissions are a whole different driving experience.
6 and 8 speeds are junk and 10 speeds all you hear about is them always searching for gears
@@danielworks123yes, exactly. Fast cars run 2 speeds, and the fastest cars (top fuel) run 1 speed.
So all that will plug into a ls9 without any problems

What are you using for manifold air temp sensor? LS Engines have built-in air temp sensors into the MAF sensor... How are you using these MAT sensors?
this kit comes with a plug for manifold air temp. it can be installed in the intake tube or in the manifold.
Very curious do I need the factory ECM?
I want to LS LQ9 6.0 Swap my Blazer never done a LS Swap before but wanted a basic clean set up instead of having a wiring nightmare so does this need the ECM sense it controls the motor or do I still have to base the ECM?
The harness already comes with their ecm

My square body ls swap.
Some days it runs great. Yet some times when l 1st start it... (happens often) the air fuel will jump to 35% and will hardly run. I turn it off immediately... I do this, sometimes up to 10 times, before it reads a normal 13.5% and runs fairly smooth.
Also at times when just cruising around... I will feel my engine hiccup a little. I started watching it and noticed when it does hiccup it because it jumps to a 25-35% air fuel mixture, just for a split second but then runs fine.
Not sure what could be causing my issues... Any help for this jar head would be appreciated.
Maybe I missed it so does it come with accessories harness like alternator , starter , transmission etc or do you have to buy any of that separate ?

It’s all separate because the $3000 you spend on it for some reason they don’t think you should get the basics with it seeing as it probably cost them $50 to make one of these

Knock sensors are very sensitive and take a lot of time to calibrate properly. It isn't usually beneficial to spend the time and effort to use them on an engine with an aftermarket cam, etc.
Holley were installing it on a sand car this weekend. So hopefully all goes well. Thanks for the response. I hope it all plugs in and fires off :)))
