  • Table lamps can be a great thing to look for but how do you know if you have a potential gold mine? These are some of the crazy lamps I have found over the last few months and I explain how you can find some of these hidden makers marks and determine exactly what they are worth. These are some of the examples I have resold and flipped on ebay.

As a new estate sale dweller, part-time reseller, I have found myself buying lamps everywhere because I like them. Who knows- maybe I was locked in a dark room in a profile life😂😂
All I know is that I need to learn everything I can about my new obsession. I need to move some of these out of my house. Thank you!!

Thanks for all the excellent lamp tips. The best lamp I've every picked up was a 1960's Fat Lava Glaze Lamp made in Germany. A pair sells for $1,500.00. Mine sold for $600.00. Pretty good profit for only paying $6 at Goodwill.

Jewelry, vases, candlesticks, clocks- wall-wrist-pocket, books, paintings, frames, mirrors, serving services, furniture ...
All this can be found very cheaply, and then sold for big money if you know how to recognize value and quality. I think that such a video would have reviews, and also help many who go hunting for valuables.

Your painted lamp is done in reverse. Basically, a painting is done from the background to the foreground. Reverse is exactly like it sounds. The artist has to lay down all the highlights first, like the snow on a branch. Then the artist lays down the branch. The more illusion of depth, the more valuable the lamp.

So this is why it’s so overwhelming to me. You have to know a bit about what the heck you’re looking for (which I sort of don’t) and you walk into this huge store of lamps… it would take me weeks to go through there looking at what they have and trying to figure out what things are worth, and what they can be sold for. I am just in awe of someone like you who can do what you do!

I've had some excellent finds myself. One in particular was a set of amber glass slip shade pendant lamps at an antique flea mall. It was a set of three, two had the complete set of glass slip shades, the third had one missing. I got the set for $35! I got home and did some research, listed it on eBay and got almost $600 for the set!

I just found you this morning & really like yr video. Thanks so much for the info. I love love love old lamps & it just makes me feel good to come into a room & have a gorgeous lamp lit up that nobody else has or very few. Takes my mind back to a simpler time than the crazy depressing state our country is in now.😔
Thanks for the info, very much appreciated. Although, I must admit that it really bothers me that people will go to these places like goodwill or yr neighborhood antique store & barter & plead to get the price down & not even care about the lamp. Then go out & stake the price so friggin’ high that the average lamp lover & of nostacgic things cant afford them. It really heart breaking bcs that means only the extremely wealthy can have them.
Look, I understand that folks need to make money, sure. I guess thats better than actually working. Its jst that there are so many good people out there that wld love & cherish these items as well & cant do so bcs of the jacked up ridiculous prices that are placed on them by hunters that do not care about the item at all but only interested in the profit they can make off of it. There have been too many times Ive watched those two men on tv that go around the country to garage sales & Mom & Pop antique stores & do this very thing. Ive seen them get in the old lady’s/mans good graces & these poor old people are so happy to have someone show them some attn that they basically give it to one of the men for nothing. Ive even heard an old woman tell them that she was at least glad that to know that someone got it that wld care for it the way she had. I guess it comforted her to know that she sold it for that low of a price to a person she thot wld care for it. Except as soon as they got away with it, they sold it to some bidder from another country & who knows what they used it for!😢
I know, I know, I mean, I truly get it but it jst irks the heck out of me that they sort of scammed the poor old lady. Making her think she gave it to them cheap just bcs they loved it so much. That part of it jst angers me a lot. Anyway, Im jst rambling. Im not hating you here. Just chaps my hide about those pickers doing that to people, especially the older ones.
Thanks again for the informative & cute video. Gonna be back for sure. 😉👍😬

picked up a floor lamp for $5 at a church rummage, beautiful ornate design, majority is cast iron, base is round with 4 lion legs (love them lion legs) Will put a milk glass pendent on it and paint it gold, it originally was plated gold. At the bottom it says pat 1840 so most likely from 1850-late 1800.

Hey, so in my pantry in the back I thought it was an old christmas topper but when I tried to move it, I realized it was HEAVY. I pulled it out where I could see the whole thing and was amazed it was a lamp. I’ve never seen anything like it and I knew it was quality by its weight. I’m talking maybe 10 pounds but idk I didn’t really weigh it. On the bottom it says Arredoluce Made in Italy. After some research I’ve found that it’s model name is “cobra” lamp, but idk what kind of bulb it fits. Where do I get info on how to restore this lamp or get it working myself?

Wow perfect timing I bought a lamp it looks really really old but I don’t think it’s old I’ve been searching for the mark on it and can’t find it ( except for the word BERMAN)
    I guess that’s it…
I didn’t find anything in my research that look like this lamp…it’s probably a reproduction but I’m not worried about it I’ve decided to keep it because I like it and I only paid five dollars for it at a garage sale lol …OK my question is actually two questions first question does the value go down on a vintage or antique lamp if the cord has been already replaced???
Second question if you’re looking to buy a lamp in any place and you suspect the makers mark is underneath the felt on the bottom of the lap because you can’t find it anywhere else what do you do ask him to pull it off so you can look at it I’m curious???
By the way this one looks like a palm tree type lamp…
    Thank you in advance…
    Blessed Be

Hi, watched your video. It was great. What prompted me was I recently bought a lamp and after getting it home, I learned it was a Dale Tiffany. It’s an Art Nouveau style which is what drew me to it in the first place. I love Art Nouveau. It has a metal tag on the inside that is soldered to the lamp shade. So I was wondering what you think about this lamp? Do you think I have something nice here? Your thoughts and or opinions would be greatly appreciated! I’m trying to figure out how to send photos. I’ll send this then try to cut and paste. Thanks Lou

your so knolegable on lamps and thats why i started watching the video. the rreason why i couldnt finish it was the thing i hate the most is the person talking and telling you the info you want to know thinks there a stand up comedian and it happens with so many sitesthat i come across looking for knoledge on things i dont know enough about and i always say knowlege is money and i could always use more and i love learning .If i could only find a person knowlegable in antiques and collectables who acts seriuse and not like there auditioning for a comedy show id be in heaven and i would spead the news to alot of people i know looking for the same thing a seriuse person with a antique and collectables youtube channel.just alittle constructive critisism, Oh i know i cant spelll ,. Sorry for that and dont take this personal . you seam like a great person and maybe its just me ,but i dont think so ,Im just telling you this because if your doing this chanel and want it to be way bigger instead of haveing 7 or 8 thousand subs im sure if you were a bit more seriuse i bet you you could have well over 50,000 subs in no time, there is so many people i know that would kill for a site they could learn more from without the comedy part of the show,. Take care and i wish you all the best from Toronto.
