I just dont get it. Get a photo great , Get a quick video , great but this constant filming and Photography....urggghh. None as bad as doing a live FB or Instagram video though. 'He everyone look at me out here enjoying this concert' Whilst not watching any of it with your eyes. The modern world i guess
+Pedro Felipe I totally agree. People need to stop being so attatched to their phones at shows and start living in the moment. That's what concerts are for, to get away from everything and letting loose and enjoying the experience.
I used to think just like you, until I experienced major memory loss issues these past few years. I just got back from a Lingua Ignota concert today. I heavily contemplated recording or not since I really do believe in living in the moment, although that just isn’t realistic for me anymore. I decided to just put my ego aside and record so I could look back at that magical moment again and never forget seeing Kristin. I didn’t have my phone in my face the entire time but I did record my favorite songs while staring at her the whole time instead of my screen. Who cares if it’s a shit video, as long as I can hear her in it. It’s best not to judge people too harshly, at least that’s what I’ve learned. I’m so happy that phones exist now, for people like me who will not be able to remember precious memories.
I just saw her in Austin for SXSW and she was transcendental. She performed in a church and it was one of the most profound, powerful performances I have ever experienced.
On the album, some of the best sound design I’ve experienced. Incredible attention to detail. If not already, the film business should be rewarding her skill with (profitable) side work.
That instant transition from Aileen Wuornos saying "thank you society.. for railroading - my - ass" right into that killer opening to "woe to all", is so fucking intense. Just watching her pace back and forth, loading up the utility lamps sent chills down my spine.
The interview's from the documentary Aileen: Life and death of a serial killer. If you watch that and are still interested, there's an amazing criminology video made by Jim Can't Swim on his patreon. 1 hour vid where he breaks down her psychological makeup during the trial and the last interview she did with Nick Broomfield before her execution.
I'll say that the live experience really depends on the conditions and the venue. I've seen her in a very packed tiny room and though her performance was amazing, it wasn't the best experience. To receive such an overwhelming performance, I wish we could have had more space to maybe sit on the ground or something. It's already tough, emotional, sublime but unconfortable enough as it is.
@Vlad Tepes 'What is cringe is your life and the meaninglessness you attach to it.' Stop projecting you edgelord. Just because you hate your life and can't enjoy any small facet of it, doesn't mean others have to be like you. Like imagine writing a comment on a piece of music about how it makes you feel (it's almost as if music literally exists to elicit an emotional response, imagine that. There are entire massive subfields in psychology exploring the way humans and animals perceive music and sound) and some edgy weirdo who gets off to videos of animals getting killed, starts explaining to you how not manly you are and what a pussy you are. Do you have zero self-awareness about how much of a tool you are?
I love her music but she couldn’t hire any musicians to perform with her? It’s kinda lame to just play it over the speakers, no matter how powerful her vocals are
Musicians who are into performing this type of music are hard to come by, much less ones who would be capable of keeping up live as well as touring with her as extensively as she does. Add that to the fact that more people playing live = more people to feed, more people who have to split the money from every show, a larger vehicle in order to carry those people and their gear (which also results in more money being spent on gas), more attitudes to deal with, more potential for equipment failure (as a consequence of having more equipment as a whole), et cetera... Meanwhile, the average musician who does this kind of music is already not that likely to get that much of a monetary return as it is, assuming they get any at all. And as much as she's gotten popular compared to others who do experimental music, Lingua Ignota is by no means rich.
@@guillll It would. I'm just saying there's almost no way that it's going to happen. The OP asked if she couldn't hire some musicians to perform with her. I was answering that.
Your lack of understanding is necessarily the font of your boredom. As in church 'font', in case you also misunderstand the reference to orthodox fanatics. Curiosity is a boon friend, don't linger long in plato's cave under the holy shadow of 'how things should be', follow that restless unknowing to new places. Enjoyment and excitement are not the only experiences that make us human, and not but a sliver of what constitutes the breadth of art. But you don't need me to tell you that...
