This is truly amazing. 1st time I have ever seen such a fast recovery. You must be a fast healer. Glad the surgery went well for you.

He's been very lucky to have that much movement, no pain and lack of swelling that soon after surgery. Three weeks on and although I'm doing all my physio exercises, I'm no where near that stage yet.

Your comment seems to be 2 years old. Have you improved? I had surgery about five and a half weeks as of this writing.
Can only bend my knee maybe one inch past 90 degrees. It has been hard to sleep at night. Practically every position I try does not bring pain relief enough. I have been going to physical therapy for a few weeks. Progress is slow for me. Unfortunately one of the Physician Assistants who spoke to me told me that I should have had better progress at week 2 like other people, and that I am not trying hard enough and that I have a low tolerance for pain.
I think that you cannot compare your progress to others. I have heard some people will take a year to get back to normal.
Being made to feel anxious and depressed does not help.

@@obscurelyvague Yes it has improved dramatically. Sometimes I don’t notice I’ve had the surgery at all, other times there can be a very slight ache and a feeling that my left knee is heavier ( understandable as it is). Just continue with the exercises, push through the pain slightly each time. Get some ice packs that you can attach to your knee overnight. Take the pain meds. It does take time, but things will improve.

Well good for you. I'm one week after. Pain, bad bruising, using walker, hurts to lift leg . Took 40 oxy and tylenol. Constipation. Took fiber didn't help. So drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. I m looking fwd. To no pain. Right now I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.😮

I don’t believe this testimonial. No swelling of the leg? This can only happen with a non tourniquet procedure. I’m four weeks in and walking without a cane, nearly full flexation but my leg is still bruised and swollen.

He speaks of 3D custom made which sounds he had it done robotically. This is true if its the case and normal.

  • @jabah126
    @jabah126 3 роки тому +5

I think he had this done robotically as he talks of having a 3D custom made knee. It's less invasive on the ligaments and nerves, and much more precise.

@@lynnrushton7458 I’m 3 days from 4 months and yes I’m counting 😁. I’m walking good most of the time I’ll start limping every now and then. I tried to climb a ladder the other day to clean gutters but only got up 3 rungs and had to come back down. I can ride a bike and do everyday. That’s what 4 months got me. I don’t hurt like it used too but I do have a gremlin that sneaks up on me with a ball peen hammer and beats on me every once in awhile. I’m absolutely positive I wouldn’t have made it if I hadn’t discovered CBD cream. There’s a point you get to where there’s a surface pain that has to get some relief and that cream did it for me. I did a lot of research on CBD cream and oil so if you need a recommendation let me know. Good luck!

Josh Reed oh right 👍 thank you! Just the thoughts of climbing a ladder terrifies me! 😂
I was doing pretty well, then got ahead of myself & over done it. So had to resign myself to more rest than I was allowing myself......it’s frustrating when I’m used to getting on with stuff.
Glad your mostly good......we just have to adapt I suppose. This time next year, hopefully we will be fully healed and raring to go 😉🤞🤞
      Good luck!

@@obscurelyvague it is, but persevere, the physio is brutal, but so worth it. You will get there. Don’t over do it though, or you will end up having to rest more. It’s a fine balance. I’m 2 years in now, & I’m so glad I did it…..still stiffen up at night after using it all day, but it’s nothing like the pain I had before. Good luck….it won’t be forever, keep going 😉

I don’t find this unbelievable at all because I’m having nearly the same experience myself. I’ll be three weeks out tomorrow. The only difference is swelling. I was swelled pretty badly until about a week in, but since then it’s gone down about 80%. I know every knee replacement is different, but there are a lucky few of us that have a fairly easy recovery. I’m having the other knee done this fall, and that might be a completely different ball game…who knows?

Good surgical technique (less invasive), regional anesthesia, physical therapy with a strong emphasis on elevation and ice to control edema/swelling as well as exercises for motion while avoiding strengthening and high step counts that provoke inflammation. Some patients will not do this well even with great surgery and rehab, but recoveries like this are not uncommon either.
