Total Knee Replacement with Dr. Matt Barber
Masya Allah
Aww thanks for the video .I'm due to avin MUA after Xmas.. I'll be 12/13 weeks in January 2025
So what!
My recovery took 6mos in 2017 before I was pain free. Still great today.
That scar looks older than 2 weeks to me ?
I think that scar is older than what is being said
Your mileage may vary, I also have to decide. The main thing I'm noticing is you don't hear from most of the successful partials like this gentleman had, but you ALWAYS hear about the ones that struggle through. Congrats Gerald!
That's not 2 weeks after surgery. No way.
I have 3 weeks after knee replacement but feel pain at the lower side of knee just towards back
Partial?
I had my R total knee replacement September 30 th it’s been 48 days today and going great but the first week was a dozy !😜
I could barely move 10 feet with a walker at 2 weeks. And my pain was unbearable. You are a one in a million outlier, or just playing with us.
The doctor is the key.
definitely NOT the norm..
She has some really pretty toes for an older woman
Dr. Cameron replaced my right hip in 2001 at 49 and my left in 2005 at what is now the Holland Centre and both hips are still great.
Here we have a doctor that clearly loves cutting up hips and providing themselves with an easy income and not thinking. The hip head can be covered with a metal socket coated with a 100 micron layer of diamond. The resulting joint has has less friction, almost zero wear and will last a life time. No risk of fracture or ion release. However, a doctor has no desire to do the best job for you, instead they are following a procedure, not pushing the edges of what is possible.
Well good for you. I'm one week after. Pain, bad bruising, using walker, hurts to lift leg . Took 40 oxy and tylenol. Constipation. Took fiber didn't help. So drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. I m looking fwd. To no pain. Right now I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.😮
Yea till the pain meds go away.
I hope mine goes that well.
Well done with the recovery and as they say everyone journey is different. For me it was 12 months until I felt good once again.
Dr. Gross has published his data for ALL of his patients. It shows HIP RESURFACING is superior IF performed by an experienced surgeon. Almost all other data is from registries showing a higher failure rate for resurfacing documents the surgeons were rarely performing this complex operation and had inferior results because of inexperience. There is no data from Dr. Gross or England that in an athletic, or younger patient implant survival and activity levels are anywhere nearly as good with Total Hip replacement as with Resurfacing by an experienced surgeon.
I just turned 40 in June, and am having my right knee done on the 23rd of this month! Nervous for recovery! Thanks y’all for sharing ur experiences! Not looking forward to the pain, but I have hope that it’ll all be so worth it!🙏🙏🙏
I'm so going to see my orthopedic surgeon on the 30th to set up surgery! My pain threshold is so low I'm trying not to think about the pain😅 I'm going to feel 😩 I have severe arthritis. I used to do CrossFit that's how my knee got messed up . I tore my meniscus. Back from there I started getting severe arthritis. I'm 68 now but I need to do this 😢 my doctor said you can't keep getting shots in your knee! But yeah it's not working like it used to.
After surgery I could do splits and 🤸 Day 2 post op that nerve block and anesthesia wore off my pain level was on 20. Oxy was not working. I was in so much pain. The changed my meds to Flexiril, Tylenol 100 mg, Dilaudid 4 mg & a lidocaine patch & I could actually sleep. This surgery is no joke. Please have a strong support system & if you can please go to rehab after. You will not get the same kind of care at home that you would in Rehab.
I’m 36 days post op with a TLKR and I just pray for healing to feel normal again these comments helped me blessings only family 🤞🏾
Will dvt after tkr cause limping?
I pray that my knee come around 🙏
Then in a couple of hours it was severe swelling and unable to move my leg 😢
He said he’s back to Golf two weeks ago, that’s only four weeks after surgery that’s kind of hard to believe
It took five years for the numbness around my knee to go away. But, now life is great!
Thanks so much for the encouraging video. I’m probably heading for an MUA (only 89 degrees at six weeks and little improvement over the last two weeks).
Did you end up having MUA?.. i had one 4 weeks ago, its improved my flex from 75 to 91 but the pain in my knee and leg afterwards was much worse than after the TKR. It was a horrible experience and my knee is still so painful. I think im going to have to have another one😢
@@nicolaspencer Yes I did have the MUA two weeks ago. During the procedure the surgeon bent my leg to 125 but after a week of PT have only gotten to 103. I agree the MUA is like taking two steps backwards with swelling and pain, I "hope" to get to 115 but still have a ways to go.
Not my experience at all. It was 2 days before I could feel my leg. When I walked a bit, I had projectile vomiting. The swelling, pain & tightness have been unbelievable. I also have fibromyalgia.
I don't believe it! After 3 yrs I'm still in pain from having left knee replacement. its been really bad for me!😢
Oh my, had a right knee replacement 4 days ago. Pain tolerable. Shaking in my boots reading what you say once the block stop.
No if you have nerve block you can't feel your legs at all! So I think she's on pain meds. I had mine in May and was walking after the nerve block wore off.
Oh bull 45 minutes!
Amazing. I had tibia plateau surgery and still can’t walk 3+ months later 😵💫
You have a good luck in your nerve for me. It was impossible to even stand three hours after the surgery.
Amazing, well done.
Hell yeah you can walk that soon after surgery but I bet she cried like me after the dope wore off. I had both done at the same time. I wouldn't recommend that to no one
? If this is true, it’s simply amazing. I’m 3 months and still have difficulty 😮
that kind of movement at 6 weeks is unbelievable. Good for Ron. I am at 8 weeks and thought I was flexible. There is no way I could lift and bend my knee the way Ron did . Good for him but I dont think this is normal. Maybe 10 weeks is more reasonable. Everyone is different.
I guess we all heal at different times paces. I let my bad leg go for about 10 yrs then got the surgery. Could be part of my swelling on outer side and pain one yr after replacement. Other wise good!
You're one of the lucky ones! I guess the Orthopedic Surgeon knew what he was doing! Its been 3 years for me and my Knee Repacement is still hurting n throbbing and I have to walk w/a walker or cane! Its terrible! They totally messed up my left knee and its totally unacceptable!!😢😢
Don't believe it
This guy is super human!!! Just how do you heal from this thT fast???? Ive had 2 tkr's and its taken me 3x longer to do anything....i am truly bafgled at this
Eres mi favorita cachiporrista
this so fake! you ought to be A shame of yourself! knee replacement is horrible especially if they medd up your knee! nothing funny!!😢😢😢
Everyone is different. I could hardly walk right after surgery, I was so numb I could not get my legs to work for about 4 hours after surgery. After a week or two I was well on my way to a great recovery. I've never had to take any pain meds except Tylenol and Meloxicam. Today is a little over 3 weeks and I unloaded eight- 50 pound bags of chicken feed from my pickup to the barn. I'm at 105 degrees range of motion and zero degrees extension. I still go to PT 2 times a week. My last PT appointment is May 23rd, but I do the exercises at home at least once a day. I'm VERY lucky. I'm scheduled for TKR for my other knee in 10 weeks and I pray it goes as easy as this one has. I'm sorry you struggled or are struggling.
Can’t buy into this just an encouragement that benefits orthopaedic surgeons
I had my knee replaced April 3 It’s been rough. Exercise and walk. Also severe constipation right now, pain meds for that.
She's happy and still under anesthesia. The PT should not permit she walks that fast.
