Pro tip.
If you are doing a delivery for say white skull rum you don’t always need to carry it on your ship. If you deliver to open water you need to have it on your ship but if you deliver to another fast travel point the rum will be available in your warehouse to do the delivery once you arrive.
Do you still get attacked if you don't have it with you?

Literally tip of the day 👌 been doing this since day 1 and before they nerfed the rouge spawns, this was a god send. Still amazing if your lower level

I run a snow with full mortar/bombard spec with crew attack heal. I do PvP and have fended off multiple players while farming for businesses. It’s also really strong for forts. It’s a great solo setup. Brace is your friend….USE it. The ship preforms better as you get overwhelmed (or so it appears) lol. I never run from a fight and love being surrounded

As someone who’s been playing games since the mid 80’s I got to say I highly recommend this game. This has huge potential to be one of the best games. However, I hope they can work out some of the bugs and also keep the content coming in game.

When you’re out and about doing your PVE grind, and a ship scopes you, charge up that twin winch ballista and shoot the little red beacon on the crows nest. Aside from stopping the call for reinforcements, It does deadly damage to masts as well. I’ve crippled some ships in 1 shot and finished them off with a ram in my Brig.
Since I got the twin winch ballista, I’ve been practicing with it and it’s a deadly tool when you are comfortable, and accurate with it. Handy for the Oceans Apart and From The Deep missions.
How do you charge it?
@@mattt233 while you are holding your aiming button (LT on Xbox) you can hold down your fire button (RT on Xbox) and you will begin to charge the shot and zoom into a closer ADS. Simply let go of your fire button and the charge shot will fly with the hounds of hell tethered to it. lol. It’s quick and does monster damage when hitting weakpoints.
Ive noticed the chance thing means for every 5 u do u might get +1
Side note best thing to do when doing deliver check the map before u accept them because ste annes has the same as the other one so if u got one close to ste annes fast travel there also leave all your stuff back home and just drop a pin on the map where the location is inless its in middle of ocean
For the cargo delivery, you don’t have to transport the shipment in your ship once you go their it will be in your inventory

Just found your channel, decided to watch this despite being a kingpin since the 13th (Early access) and I didn't even know that the upgrades were resetting in 90 days not 7! Now I feel like a very silly lady for not upgrading the perks! Thank you.

i also noticed that you don’t need to take your goods with you to deliver points where you can dock, leave them in your warehouse and then just approach the npc to complete the delivery

Great vid. Been waiting for this one :P The sybmols for the rogue hunts denote what faction they are. Factions are basically what weapon archetype they fit into. E.g. Wyverns, third symbol, use fire weapons. Doesn't have anything to do with difficulty unless you struggle against a specific weapon.
just want to mention, if your not really good in battle be careful picking up so many delivery contracts on refined goods, each contract will spawn 2 pirate ships. so if you pick up 4 at once, 8 pirates will spawn to attack and may get over whelming, i stick with 2 for a challenge go for 3 so im battling 4-6 ships at a time. the reason i mention if you dont pay attention you can get surrounded and loose track of when to brace and your brace will deplete extremely quick. you can always pick up your loot and get rid of contracts if it gets too much, have fun though soon i may see yous in pvp ;)
Thank you for all the good information. Love the game, but have never enjoyed PVP, in any game. Don't get to play that often, and don't want to spend what I do get, on fighting people for something, if I don't have to.
11:02 I’m just a little bit into the video but the way the chances of getting additional products is each time it cycles it has a 20% chance to get a second one or whatever your chances are. But if you look at larger runs you can get super lucky and have the rng hit more often and you can also get unlucky with the rng. Also on the cargo runs you don’t need to load the contraband on the ship at least until they patch it. The reason why I don’t take multiple deliveries at once is because each mission has a set of enemies and I find it’s much harder to fight two or three different types of enemies at once. It doesn’t take me that long to make a run and I farm ingredients and xp on each run.

Thanks for the video. Another tip for PvE Kingpin activities... When doing Co-Op **DON'T ACCEPT RANDOM INVITES FROM OTHER PLAYERS** because only one person can get the Distillery if you join a party.
Ive gotten all of the locations in Red Isle, almost all of them solo hostile take overs in one night. I feel like i just got lucky. I only had one with another player, and i lost, but other than that, no other players.

With the Supply Deal (Roving) don’t go up to them and talk to them, first you’ll spend silver and get only 105 sugar cane (or whatever it offers) but if you kill one of the ships, you get all of your materials from the quests plus more! For me I would get 105 sugar cane from quest, plus 180 sugar cane for killing one ship, making 285 sugar cane. If I have quest for sugar, poppy, berries I would get 285 of each
Great tutorial but you forgot to ad in how to fund your factories. You can do this with rum!!! In that first group of upgrades you learn gold rum at the seventh investment. John Scurlock will buy rum for 100 silver each. However it takes two white rum to make gold rum and John will buy that for 250 silver.
The beauty of this is you make 100 rum with 100 sugar cane. This should net you about 130 rum if the bonuses are correct. Now when you run that 130 rum you'll make 65 gold rum and you should get your 30% bonus again which would be 19 making a total of 84 gold rum which John will buy for 21,000 silver pieces. I haven't checked Johns gin prices yet but I'm going to do that in a day or two.
edit; You get the same prices for gin. So do those supply missions as often as you can and keep your distillery and laboratory making you huge amounts of silver to feed your manufacturers.
The woman kingpin in the East Indies does the same thing with opium but you need to upgrade the first group to 15 to get that black opium.
I like this method instead of trying to find a good price for commodities. They really need to let us see how much things sell for without having it in our cargo hold since we only have a limited number of slots. I just sail by most vendors since you can't check their prices.
You can check on map 2nd level of max zoomed out what is in demand, then check your warehouse what you have excess amount of and take them out and go to those places and sell. :) But yes, I think rum is a sufficient way since you need to PvE to get the materials, and before factories are way high level up you don't really have time to PvE
@@BubbaSvensson That doesn't really work that well. Item list shows high demand but have neutral prices most of the time when you check. It would be nice if on the way to a mission you could check the prices to see if it's worth your time.
@@MainerdLoyd oh OK, only used it once in a while so didn't know about that. Maybe it's a bug showing the old stock prices or something before the store update :(
Nice video!! Very usefull tips I have à quick question I haven't captured any manufactories yet and was wondering do you loose them after a certain time or do they get stolen from you and u then have to retake and re inject silver into them to upgrade again?
Once you own them. They are yours till end of the season.

@@norske_ow3440 No no it's not that kind of ownership, everyone can own everything, it's just the act of actually capturing it especially in hostile takeovers

is there a daily cap for pieces of eight and is a lot of activiti time gated?
Great video but I think you might of missed a huge bonus in the empire management tab (trade route upgrade) I got many areas knocking on the 100 an hour door and they are lvl 6.

I am in abit of a situation where eventho you do explain it here quite well, i am still unsure where i should spend my figure of eight to either open a new area or to just upgrade red isle area for more figure of eight. if you have the time and you wouldnt mind.... i would appreciate some help from you :) let me know
I know this is a PVE guide but you should also do the Takeovers because sometimes there are no players that want to do it but if a player joins up, just quit that and go on to the next. That’s how I got all the locations in the red isle
i managed to snag 3 ports before someone finally showed up on the 4th. turns out it was a highly contested spot.

@SenecaRaccoon I did the same thing as both of you. just kept looking around. I had one left never vrs anyone yet. and I let the location go 2 times. 3rd time someone was there. I said whatever I'm doing it anyways. I did 80% damage before the player showed up. I won the location. I got all of them.

I did the same but eventually I ran into the same duo in back to back to back takeovers. It became a game at that point. I had a tanked out snow and the other 2 were 9/7 ship levels. (Brig and pada). Went 3-0 against them with 1 death and a comeback (sea rez) in the middle one (100% to 99%)
Me: 4 bombard/mortar/crew heal and tried to kite them and everything else around while doing brace, boardings and such for any extra need heals

Another tip i got yesterday and used was to NOT put the rum or opium in your ships cargo. Instead accept the contract and sail to the drop off point (mark it on your map as it will not show up since you do not have the item(s) on the ship). Once you disembark at the drop off point, access your cargo and transfer the rum/opium to your ship then deliver it. That way the extra cargo won't weigh the ship down and if you get sunk you wont lose the contraband. Worked yesterday (Feb 19th), not sure if that was patched or not.
That works for delivery to a land location. Delivering to the convoy you gotta have it on board.
I didn't include that because I thought it might confuse people.
if you kill the supply ships it will give you a lot more dog

Just bought the game, and it is good but very buggy...
Have you noticed anything about the upgrade on the timeline for supplyruns?
First you get 2 min. Then next is 3 min, thats make 20 min, but im getting 19 min which doesnt add up now matter if it was 2 and then 3 without stacking..
Jist a buggy buggy game really, and starting to get bored afyer allready 13 days.. lol..
Supply Deals you take the mission kill the ship and you get way more for no cost. Just one ship kill is needed to stock up fully. I did one kill got 570 canes and 285 berries.
I have no problem killing the boss on the Legendary Heist, but the game never really tells you what to do after you pickup the loot (at least i never saw it). Regardless i tried this 5 times yesterday and kept getting one shot by the NPC ships...no joke i was at full health each time level 10 Brig. Extremely annoying.
Have you compared the Mons Meg Bombard to the Balista? The Mons Meg is designated as a siege weapon so I was wondering if you compared the 2.
i struggled with that too. I found that only certain ships in that big group will allow the transfer. So i suggest you check them individually. They are very annoying that way. BUT if you attack them and sink one it is being reported that you get a stupid amount of sugar cane or poppies...like triple the amount.

So when you get the location from the heist can you lose that to a hostile takeover? or do you have it for the season?
you keep the location for the duration of the season

I'm pretty sure you and everyone that takes part of the legendary heist gains that location. The manufactories are "local", but the only contested part of them are the hostile takeovers. So basically multiple people can have it acquired on THEIR account, but only have to fight over gaining a new one during a takeover.@@xxUncleBuckxx
@@xxUncleBuckxx Yes all three that participated get the location. One of you will be given the deed and the other two escort the carrier to St. Anne's. If no one else joins then you do it solo and the same rules apply. Plus there's a chance that you will earn a very decent hull armor rated at 400 doing the coop mission.
@@xxUncleBuckxx ive only done hostile takeovers to get my locations and only twice did i not get first place in the event. but from those 2 failed attempts it did not give me the location

I’ve had it where a teammate griefs by killing themselves after the heist and no one gets the location as it ends the mission. Being preferential to PvE, to all of you fellas apprehensive just give the takeovers a shot if no one joins it. If someone does, just don’t go. Otherwise, loving the video so far.

Everyone on the server can own the same location
Everyone will eventually own every location.
So yes multiple people can own the same location.
Once you own it, it won't be contested for you ever again.

No you slowly pull up to them and interact. One of the fleet will do the exchange for 1 quest, find the other(s) to complete all. Sometimes if they were in combat it’s harder as they become occupied. Help kill the attacker or let them reset
You can kill them but imo it’s not really worth it and gives other players who arrive the wrong impression. Like you are there to make their day hell lol. My advice is if they are sitting nicely in formation, find your trade-in boats…if they are moving around, either help and let them reset or come back in 10 or so

Now, especially with helm death mark gone, you CAN kill them and get free resources. More for higher levels but it’s an option.

Love the game but it needs a balance fix I did a white rum run had about 7 rank 11 come at me as I sailed great that was fun my next run I had nothing attack me when I got to drop off outpost there was 21 tier 11 waiting for me no fun

For those who just reach king pin royal custodian is a free upgrade lol why not go for it takes 5 mins to complete got mine by boarding the smallest ship for the first time I think the drop rate is a little to high lmao.
I accepted a double or nothing challenge on my way back from grabbing gold. I started getting attacked by 4 rival players and ended up getting sunk twice. I finally got back the gold chest and delivered it for a whopping $16k gold!! I think every time the gold chest gets dropped and picked up it doubles. Not sure but I only started with 600 gold

@@alexcornnutso I joined a double or nothing event and ended up getting the chest but only secured 80 some gold. If there is a multiplier it may only work for the person who started it
@@saucyyben we tested it and it didn't work. We rotated it with 6 people rotating the chest & kills

There's so much I hate about this game and really I just need to stop myself from comparing it because I'm still having fun. Sure I wish there was more freedom with being your character and moving around/ character combat and so on. But you spend so much time sailing and the boat combat is fun. I'll never be a big pvper so I'm mostly just taking my time and enjoying myself while waiting for helldivers 2 to load (wish my friends that love helldivers would try skull and bones so I'd have someone to sail with lol)

I love the true grinders.... I have 84hrs streamed already and hate the exploit players... the free trial account sounds like a plan tho so might look in to that but I love trashing the exploit players that don't have any real experience or skill

@alexcornnut Nothing of your fault but youtube just keeps deleting a lot of peoples comments after 23 seconds which is incredibly annoying (I'm surprised this worked first go as prior to this I posted a comment to another CC seven times to the point I reached out to them on discord).
BTW your tips have already been a boon to my late game play loop having done a few PvE hiests & unlocked new locations.
helm wagers never work for me and idk why, accepted a helm wager with 6412 and only got 1400
It only doubles the amount in your cargo at the time you accept the double or nothing

I will say the skull & bones portion of it has long passed. We all went hard for about 2 months and then quit.
That takes to long. It's quicker and easier to do the hostile takeover. Yes it's pvp but I did all mine by myself. If someone joins and you don't want to do pvp back out. Once someone has that location they can not join again
