Tactical Planning can be a VERY good command card, and here's why: You can split fire with ARCs or BARCs and get two orders back in the opponent's pool. And given the presence of Coordinate, Detachment, Entourage, Retinue, and Teamwork in other factions, you are likely to find enemy units close enough to hit them both.

Don’t get me started about the bad changes to GAR (all clone points - excluding Rex should revert to originals and snipers get their Critical 1). But as far as playing the 501st, unless the ARCs revert to original (so it’s worth running ARCs again), I don’t really see a benefit to running the 501st, or unless you wanted to run Rex or Anakin anyway. But I don’t think we’ve seen all the rules for the 501st. Who knows, maybe the 501st can share standbys.😳
I am so annoyed. I bought it, and they haven't included all flight stands for arc troopers. I don't recommend it.
Seriously? Man, just miss after miss recently. Sheesh.
I hate clear flight stands anyway. They stick out like a sore thumb. I just use wire which i paint black. More poseable, sticks out less, less fragile. It's just an all around win and only requires you to do a small amount of drilling.
As a GAR main, I'm super disappointed in this box - not only does it seem to be the worst value per dollar for people to buy the box, the list building is just a joke. Standby sharing was terrible and needed to be nerfed, and I'm fine with the restriction of sharing 1 other token at a time, but I still think all the points nerfs and the take that clankers nerf was too much. These units were designed and priced to be so effective as to potentially be semi abusive, so now they are in a weird spot.
I was hoping these command cards would effectively bring back the old rules and/or have some crazy alpha strike potential, but they just aren't good enough in my mind to give up my padme or Rex/wookies lists. And it's so weird to me that they don't allow Rex and Anakin to be run together, and that they didn't release this alongside some points adjustments. The fact that I have a hard time building past 7 activations with these rules is a little hilarious.
So unless AMG decides to make some MAJOR points nerfs to arcs and clones, and ease up the list restrictions or add more units down the line, this one seems DOA to me 😞
Incremental changes are the way to go, but IMO the changes to Clones were too many at once.
Standby Sharing? Unfun. Needs to go. But now you've weakened Clones. Is that a good thing? Does it put them in a good spot? Should we lower their points accordingly? Let's wait and see

but instead... Clones are too efficient. Let's increase their points. But wait... that's the third hit, weren't we considering reducing points before?
and then... Let's smack down Rex, who just had his points go up, with a nerf to his signature build-around card.
It's too much all at once.
Personally, I don't want points to be the tuning dial used to fix clones either. Put them back to where they started, sure, but don't just reduce them further. Clones should be better than battle droids, and Stormtroopers, and pay the points accordingly.
If they're currently not better than Stormtroopers, then we should change their rules, not just make them a horde army.
It seems like AMG is more bold with RRG rules, because that remains a digital download, as opposed to changing card text.
If they wanted clones to be more interactive with the opponent, and be willing to spread out more (which I support), introduce rules that encourage that. Don't just remove half of what incentivized them to clump. Because now, they are still better clumped than apart, just not as much better as before. So the play style remains the same, just worse.
Im a GAR main too and never acquired many ARCs or Phase 2s. I like that this box doesnt overlap much with the core set. I see your issue with the value in a true dollars per plastic sense but it is a good second purchase after the core set IMO
Well with clones ya can rarely build large 'n fun armies thanks to their costs... The restrictions are also kinda heavy, can't even bring 2 commanders to the table sheesh.. Best I could come up with looks close to this:
Clone Captain Rex (Vigilance, Up Close and Personal, Recon Intel, JT-12 Jetpacks)
4x Phase I Clone Troopers (DC-15 Phase I Trooper, Phase I Clone Captain, Up Close and Personal)
2x Arc Troopers (DC-15x ARC Trooper, Up Close and Personal, Recon Intel)
AT-RT (AT-RT Laser Cannon)
Only good thing about the arks is the heavy weapon that bringts immune deflect..
Could try to take out all the clone captains 'n some updates to squeeze in another strike team... or swap the 2 full arks into a fives 'n echo team... bleh..
They also lack defense on close range without anakin I think..

@@DiceCommando Just started the video but without the force org chart being shared, how can you consider the restrictions without being purely hypothetical?
EDIT - I see the tweet from March now. Im hopeful the restrictions wont be so limiting. Surely the 501st employed Saber Tanks at some point and/or worked alongside Padme. Does seem a touch too restrictive IMO
They told us the restrictions back in March. If they have changed, then sure, but going off of what they told is in a stream seems pretty reasonable to me?
This box is DOA. I'm sure it will sell well, but the Battle Force isn't worth running. The command cards do not offset the nerfs clones got recently, which is why GAR armies are taking P1's to be cheap and loading up on non-clones. That's still the way to play them. Even if there's a points reduction, ARCs aren't good enough to be a build-around unit
I was really hoping for something dramatic to shake up clones. Something that would give the 501st a distinct playstyle from perhaps the "generic" clones we'd already seen. This isn't it.
The others BF have better command cards. Is just not fair :/
