A simple tale from the 'Thirty Minute Theatre' strand, but its nonetheless a very entertaining chiller that would have been quite at home in the early series of Fear on Four. Writer Eric Pringle is perhaps most widely-known for having written the spooky Doctor Who story 'The Awakening' in the 1980s.
MYSTERIOUS MAGPIE is a channel devoted to ghost and horror stories on British radio, and to dark tales of every kind. I have another channel, MYSTICAL MAGPIE, which is all about stories of fantasy, mythology, and adventure: / @mysticalmagpie-wo5fn

It's a truly wonderful thing that the internet has allowed us to share cultures in an unprecedented way (even if it has its obvious downsides too). In Britain Kenneth Cranham is perhaps not a household name these days but he was certainly a familiar face on television for many, many years, and still working today. More recently he was in a really good radio series called The Interview, about two police interrogators - one an old pro, the other a talented youngster. As a 'cop show' it'll never be on either of my channels, but if you like Cranham's acting it might be worth looking for elsewhere on YT...
