I love Bridear. They are fighters. They keep coming back from the line up changes and getting through the pandemic. They were the first Japanese band to tour overseas near the end of lockdowns. They felt adventurous and went to Sweden to record their latest album, Born Again. They also shot this video there. It is one of their best. However, their previous album Aegis of Athena is really good too. The live version is their first as well called Aegis of London...Live

I LOVE Haru! Her bass is about as tall as she is. And she almost always has a huge bow on the end. Bridear is one of my bucket list bands to see live. One of the older Bridear song is Ignite. Great tune!

In Japan, metal music is so widespread and famous that there are many bands and many unusual genres have formed, metal has evolved into new forms

Hanabie. (han-ah-bee-ay) actually translates as "cold flowers." It refers to the time in Spring when the flowers are starting to bloom but it's still cold outside. A similar sounding/looking word "Hanabi" means fireworks. Great reaction. Love Bridear. I was listening to their new album all day today.

They went to Sweden to record this album and from this song it sounds like it’s going to be their best yet. They play a wide variety of styles. The two guitarists have some really fun guitar cover MVs under the name Sukiyaki Sisters. A sampling of the variety of their sound:

Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Founded in 2011, Bridear are one of the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have undergone a few lineup changes, and have experimented with various styles, but they always come back to their foundation of hard-driving metal-inflected rock. They have the quintessential twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Here is the original lineup:
    Kimi-Vocals
    Haru-Bass, growls
    Misa-Guitars, growls
    Mitsuru-Guitars (pink flying V)
    Kai-Drums
In 2019, Kai left to start a family, Misa left to pursue her own musical vision, Mitsuru soon followed, and they had to bebuild. Amazingly, they did so without any loss in quality, finding Misaki and Ayumi on Guitar, and Natsumi, formerly of Telecide, to take over on drums (after a brief trial with another drummer).
    Second Lineup:
    Kimi-vocals
    Haru-bass, growls/metal vocals
    Misaki-Guitar, audience left
    Ayumi-Guitar, audience right
    Natsumi-Drums
I saw them live in London just after this lineup came together, and they were explosive, playing mostly stuff from the original lineup. They have experimented with a variety of styles, dabbling in progressive and pop, but they still come back to their metal roots.
In “Brave New World Revisited” (ua-cam.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/v-deo.html) they’ve got a masterpiece. It’s also a tour-de-force for their brilliant young guitarist Ayumi, who has also taken on a lot of the writing for the band.
In early 2022, Misaki, who suffers from severe stage fright, left the band for health reasons, and they scrambled to find a new co-lead guitarist. They have been joined by Moe, and their first release with her on board showcases some great dual shredding between her and Ayumi.
    From the original lineup:
“Thread of the Light” (live) ua-cam.com/video/enbjKqMOTe4/v-deo.html
    “Light in the Dark” ua-cam.com/video/CN3KDIBdosQ/v-deo.html
    “Ignite” ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html
    Second Lineup:
    “Starlight” ua-cam.com/video/4lq90GqRxiE/v-deo.html
    “Bloody Bride” ua-cam.com/video/CN3KDIBdosQ/v-deo.html
    “Brave New World Revisited” ua-cam.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/v-deo.html
    Third Lineup:
    “Road” ua-cam.com/video/vcsUpWW0UZk/v-deo.html
    “Eyes of Doubt” ua-cam.com/video/_oNn9Wg-vNQ/v-deo.html
(This was written by new member Moe.)
“Still Burning” is a statement: ua-cam.com/video/v7UOTBAtJh0/v-deo.html
They wrapped the recording sessions for their new album “Born Again” last month in Sweden, and it dropped on June 28. The whole thing is a banger.

nice reaction. makes me happy to see someone really get and enjoy BRIDEAR. awesome band. I love the current lineup. I think you'll enjoy the entire album. at least 6 of the songs are at least as good as this song, but different. Check out more BRIDEAR and if you want others you have not heard yet, dig into HAGANE (new EP released a few weeks ago, LIFE GOES ON, new MV just dropped yesterday) NEKi, TRiDENT, East of Eden and KOIAI, so much more where those come from, just a taste to get into other stuff if you're wanting more to check out.

My recommended song is "Ghoul". This song reminds me of the music scene of the 80s and 90s. Please give it a listen.

I love Kimi's voice! She can sing heavy songs and also very emotional or even poppy melodies. You really need to dig in their albums to find the songs where her voice makes you thrill. Haru wasn't always the growler of the band. In the first albums, ocassionally, was a guitarist, Misa (not the Band-Maid member), not anymore with them. It seem they really produced very well this album, and I don't mean the others were bad, but this one really BURNS!

Pronouncing the name with a Western accent ("bry-deer") is fine, given that the word's not Japanese, but is a mash-up of "Dear Bride." But your Japanese-style pronunciation is good!
This is their best song in years. Mitsuru, now long departed, was their principal (and best) songwriter, and they've only occasionally reached the level of her compositions. But this is as good as anything they've ever done.

This older live track needs more reactions. Different lineups, this is 4 original members just after Misaki replaced Misa and bassist Haru took over Misa’s growling. Heavy. And worth looking up the lyrics beforehand.
    “Scream” live ua-cam.com/video/Mwp8RKL9RyY/v-deo.htmlsi=FfmsdvkctQZEUqUE
I also recommend the their proggiest song “Brave New World Revisited”
    Enjoy

Id say they are more metalcore than power metal.
