Oh, definitely Light In The Dark! My favorite song from them and one of my favorite songs of all time. I know you’ll love it, I listen to it almost every day 😄
I am going to go old school and recommend the metal legends -SHOW-YA one of the original all female Japanese metal bands. Keiko's voice is also very different for a Japanese female singer with a very smoky bluesy style. I also really like Galmet the all female melodic death metal band, but they have not put out anything in several years. other top bands on my list that are not all female bands include legends like SEIKIMA II, sex machineguns, and onmyo-za
One of the many underrated Japanese bands. They went through a lot of trouble to play in Europe in 2021 and ended up being the only band I got to see live that year.
Oh yeah! Bridear is one of my favorites! Def check out their latest song Brave New World Revisited. For an old favorite try Light in the Dark. They also got a new album coming out soon called Aegis of Athena.
One of my favorite bands. You really need to see "Brave new world revisited" from them. That has some really epic proggy breakdown, which just keeps going and going... ;) One of the best songs I have ever heard.
Ghoul is from their comeback album, Expose You Emotions. I call it a comeback album because just prior to this album the two guitarist and drummer had left the band. But, Kimi (Vo) and Haru (ba) soldiered on. They brought aboard Ayumi and Misaki on guitars and Natsumi on drums and didn't look back. Natsumi played in a band called Telecide. They release the album Bloody Bride after signing with an UK based label. They have since went on a successful EU/UK tour. They have a new album coming out soon with the very progressive song Brave New World Revisted on it. The video for the song was released before the tour. ua-cam.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/v-deo.html
I like both iterations, but boy I really wish they hadn't change their artistic direction. It's really the reason that they left, at least that's what Misa said. I guess they wanted a poppier sound and Misa and the others wanted to keep the edgier Rock/Metal elements.
From this formation I like "Bloody Bride", from the last album, a lot. You also have "Light in the Dark" from the old formation that is pretty cool. There are still many good japanese bands for you to check, like Yousei Teikoku, Saiseiga, Kokuugun, Mai Yajima ... And you definetely have a chance! There is a japanese band named The Number Zero who have Inger, a norwegian girl, as the vocalist.
One of the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands, founded in 2011. They go hard and heavy, and really epitomize the technical side of Japanese rock bands. Here is the original lineup: Kimi-Vocals Haru-Bass, growls Misa-Guitars, growls Mitsuru-Guitars (pink flying V) Kai-Drums In 2019, Kai left to start a family, Misa left to pursue her own musical vision, Mitsuru soon followed, and they had to bebuild. Amazingly, they did so without any loss in quality, finding Misaki and Ayumi on Guitar, and Natsumi, formerly of Telecide, to take over on drums (after a brief trial with another drummer). New Lineup (this is what you just watched): Kimi-vocals Haru-bass, growls/metal vocals Misaki-Guitar, audience left Ayumi-Guitar, audience right Natsumi-Drums They have been experimenting with a variety of styles, dabbing in progressive and pop, but they still come back to their metal roots. In “Brave New World Revisited” (ua-cam.com/video/_6-OXcyMkYI/v-deo.html) I think they’ve got a masterpiece. It’s also a tour-de-force for their brilliant young guitarist Ayumi. If this is their direction, they are going to re-emerge into the top tier of Japanese bands. I saw them live in London just after this lineup came together, and they were explosive, playing mostly stuff from the original lineup. I see you are working through quite a few of my favorite Japanese Bands. Mary's Blood, Band Maid (my personal favorite - going to DC) and now Bridear. I have another one to suggest you you. Aldious! They have been around longer then most the bands that you have been doing and are credited with being the lead band in the recent wave of all female hard rock/metal bands. I would suggest starting with the song "We Are" if you do Aldious (Although Sweet Temptation and dominator are good as well) I would recommend the official videos a well. A little piece of trivia, Marino Bozzio (Aldious's drummer) is the daughter of Terry Bozzio, who was the drummer for Frank Zappa (26 albums) and Missing persons ( 7 albums). Have a good one!
A few weeks ago Japan decided to open its borders to the world for business trips and studies, my sister is going to study Japanese in a month. I think they will soon be open for all tourists. but studying in Japan is a good option if you want to stay a long time.
Your reaction was great as to be expected. I recently discovered this band. I love the singer's voice and the instrumentalists. Was hesitant to explore their music as I'm not a fan of growling, vocals which seems unnecessary for Bridear's musical skills. Fortunately, the overall quality of their music keeps me wanting more (but with minimal growling).
Yes, they are very good, but I like "old line-up" (only singer and bass player are from them) even more. You could check their song "Light in the Dark", where Misa (not from Band Maid, other one guitarist) growling and girls exchange guitar solos (hey, you love that Anastasia!)... You wouldn't be disappointed!
@@pepsiman990 As much as I know (maybe I'm wrong) Misa growled in those times. After she left the bend, Haru take that responsibility , which is incredible! Look like there is no end of dedication of those wonderful Japanese musicians!
Good reaction as always. Please check E.I.B. by Ediee Ironbunny, which is Baby Metal style Japanese HM band. The cyborg may start recruiting female vocals soon.
This is really strong musically. This is my first time seeing Bridear and I am impressed. However, you mentioned a couple of times in your reaction that the lead singer sits high in the mix. I agree. I will reserve my judgement, but my initial feeling is that the lead vocalist doesn't have the power or range to sit much lower, like the leads you mentioned in Bandmaid, Lovebites and Babymetal can. This does not mean she can't sing. Quite the opposite. As you pointed out, she has a very melodic voice and it is beautiful. However, I would like to hear her sing over something heavier. I'm sure she has more licks up her sleeve. Thankyou Anastasia for introducing me to a very good band. I will have to go searching for more of them. On another theme, I can't wait to see you fronting your own band. You certainly won't have to sit so high in the mix with your voice, power and presence. Keep the good work coming.

Does anyone know if they are an organic band like LOVEBITES or Nemophila etc . It just sounds like it’s trying to hard Plus they seem very young
Bridear is really cool, one of my favorite bands after Lovebites and Nemophila, lots more good music to check out from them. I have a few more suggestions that will make you want to move to Japan Hazuki from Nemophila is in another band that's not so metal but very cool. I suggest you check out the Li-Sa X Band video for "Looking Up To You", great guitar and overall great song: ua-cam.com/video/fFxdWRgBxMg/v-deo.html. Another band that is criminally underrated, meaning not many are paying any attention to but they truly kick ass (yes Japanese again) is Saiseiga, check out their song "Ride On" ua-cam.com/video/4spnw5RJCKE/v-deo.html. I won't describe it so you are totally surprised. I'm trying to contain myself until LoveBites releases new material....someday.

@@aphyonmortath8377 I like the way you think. Show Ya was Hair Metal and Bad Ass musicianship not unlike the Japanese powerhouse Loudness.
BRIDEAR is top-tier J-Metal for sure. Love the direction this band is heading
bridear members looks super young but they have been rocking for more than 10 years. and maybe they are over 30 years old. can't believe.
