Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad, popularly referred to as Lijjat, Lijjat Papad is an Indian women's worker cooperative that produces a variety of fast-moving consumer items. The organisation's primary goal is to empower women by giving them job opportunities. It will be a source of employment for 45,000 women nationwide (in 2021). Lijjat began as a small-scale business in an urban region; then, it extended to the countryside. It is regarded as one of the most outstanding female-led business projects related to female empowerment in India.
Lijjat adheres to the Sarvodaya (community-wide economic and social development) and communal ownership philosophies. Each woman came prepared with a single ingredient: urad dal flour, pepper, asafoetida, spices, and seasonings.
