Thank you for this video and the feedback as well :) I scored 7.5 recently in my exam too! I repeated some words like “actually, in particular etc” due to anxiety. In my assessment with our review center I got 6.5, my coach said that my grammar and pronunciation were good but I didn’t talk much especially in Part 2 So I would like to share some tips from my experience for anyone taking the exam soon: 1. Find ways not to be anxious! Mild anxiety is normal during the exam but don’t let it affect you -during the exam once anxiety is kicking, mindfully slow down your pace and if you can’t think of anything to say have some general phrases and words ready like “I think it would give me a sense of satisfaction/It gives me a sense of fulfillment etc. Express yourself using words to describe how you feel even just simple words like. “Sunny days make me feel happy” (applicable for Parts 1 and 2) -These phrases/words would help your mind get back on track
I'm obsessing over these IELTS videos which I don't even know what for but I like listening. So far, this examiner is my favorite because he makes it easy to communicate and he's not boring at all.

My Cambly student, "Steve" from Korea, sent me this link, asking me if I agreed with the score of 7.5. I have listened to the exam, but I haven't listened to the feedback yet. I'll comment again after I listen to the feedback. I agree with the 7.5 that the "examiner" gave the "candidate". Fluency: 8 (The candidate was comfortable in speaking English, he had a few pauses where a native speaker probably would have paused, too, his weakness was Part 2, which I suspect he had not practiced very much.) Vocabulary: 7 (He actually is borderline 7/8, but I'm giving him a 7 because I thought he had one too many errors, such as "get my hair tidy" and "when the sun falls". Grammar: 7 (Too many mistakes for an 8.) Pronunciation: 8 (Here is where I'm not sure. I was an examiner in China for one year, and I only heard two candidates that I thought were Band 8s. In China, or at least in southern China, where I worked, I mainly heard students who were between 5 and 7, seldom above or below. I am not an expert at telling the difference between an 8 and 9 in any of the four areas of the speaking exam. It's possible that this candidate is a Band 9 in pronunciation. I didn't hear any mistakes in pronunciation or intonation. It sounded like he had lived in the US or Canada for many years.) Total score is a band 7.5, regardless of whether he has an 8 or 9 in pronunciation, because the two 7s pull down the score. So, yes, Steve, I agree with the score of 7.5.
I just listened to the evaluation. The "examiner" didn't give Band scores for each of the four areas, so I can't directly compare those. However, he did say that the "candidate" was a 7. 5, or maybe a 7, depending on the examiner. I disagree with this. He's definitely a 7.5. To get a Band 8 he needs lessons with a teacher who will point out his grammar and vocabulary mistakes.
I should point out that in a real IELTS speaking exam, the examiner will not be saying things like, "Very good, very good" or "Perfect". This is against the rules in Part 1. The examiner must only read what is in the examination booklet. I was once criticized by my supervisor for adding "well" and "and" in front of Part 1 questions!

There was a part were "sleeping time" was repetitive. I have been teaching Koreans and the problem with them is that they try to improve their vocabulary but the use is sometimes incorrect. I agree with the examiner again. That is quite similar to what I advise my students. Wow, good day for him to get 7.5.

It was nice for him because the examiner doesn't want to scared him. So it was like a friendly conversation.
와 발음이 진짜 수준급이시네요 한국인 특성상 직선적인 인토네이션만 없었으면 더 느낌이 살았을듯 이 정도 발음이면 원어민 애들 알아듣기에 거의 어색한거 없음
Taking my ielts exam tomorrow, wish my examiner’s gonna be as kind as him :)
i think it’s unfair to give him7.0 he performed really good

he deserves at least 8, most probably 8,5. i have not seen any apparent mistake with his english, maybe lack of ideas could be downside but english is so perfect.
Older people usually gets up earlier ; for younger rise up very late. Today human sleeping and rising late. Previous people slept and rose early. I don't think the higher education would get a decent job. I think no more education they are, the much more wealthy they earn for surviving in their life. 😆😆😆 while i was a child that remember, my nanny took me to also barber shop for my haircut. The hairdresser cut my hair short as similar as a doll. And i was crying for my nanny. Said: i didn't want cut hair short. Nanny gave me a compliment " what a lovely your short hair with my tiny baby face. Then I cried for my hair cut. I was gonna not to go school. Also i don't like to go learn writing at school. I hate going school. I just like to enjoy studying English all my life in order to be English-speaker such as British are brilliant. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 the examier looks glamorous.😻😍😍😍😍
If i get a instructor like him, I'm gonna keep seeing him..😝😝
Examiner : good, very good.
@@vaca493 😝😝
I love this examiner. He is kind and lovely. I wish to have someone like this tomorrow
7.5 is totally reasonable At least 7.IELTS is more focusing on conversational skills
I mean.. I just came from a 8.5 video, and I think the only difference betweeen these two guys is that this 7.5 guy took longer to answer. I am this kind of person as well, not that I am not concentrated enough, it's just the way I speak! even when I am speaking in my own native language, I take long pauses before each sentence too LOL
IELTS speaking topic is really unexpectable... sometimes I'm stunned by these Qs lol
The examiners are also really varied depends on the exam, some listen very politely while others are not.......
Doesn't he deserve more than just 7.5 I feel 8.5 is good.. Come on he is good speaker
if anyone has stuttering and is nervous, don't be, I suffer from stuttering and I stuttered a lot in my exam and I got a 7.5, breathe and focus on your vocabulary and grammar
An excellent examiner! Keep it up!
Kudos to the examiner,He just boast my courage.
He really got some tough questions. He did well all things considered.
ok instead of the ielts exam, let's examine a haircut exam.
Next question: What do you know about the history of haircuts?
With this examiner. Band 8, for anyone should be easy 😄
