Great review. I have just purchased the BSC100S. I will need to do a few more rides to see what I think, but the first ride was ok, but the app impressed me more than I thought it would. I think I like it more than strava.
I already have a head unit, but watched this, thinking of maybe buying one as a present for a friend, and I gotta say, this review was FANTASTIC. I loved the explanation for new cyclists and the way you present and edit is amazing. Excellent video!
I think for us who rides more in recreational sense but do it daily, the option if having just the GPS unit without the additional sensors is a good thing. Good Job IGSPORT. I wish they add Route Directions in Future. It would sell well.
Grandurance is a good bike especially the higher variants - but, are you sure you need a gravel bike in the first place? What sort of routes are you planning to ride?
@@TheIndianCyclist Thats what am debating, between Road and Gravel. In Bangalore roads are not that good. I do mostly weekend rides and in few months to an year plan to do longer rides. So thinking of buying that one cycle that suits all needs.
@SatishKumar75 I believe it's a common misconception that you need a gravel bike to ride bad roads. Even if you ride light trails, if that's just 10% of your rides, I would not recommend a gravel bike. Look instead for an all-road bike that takes wider tyres (min 38mm). You could even swap for gravel tyres if required. The Trek Domane is one example in this category, most bike brands have these bikes now.
Thank you for this informative review, i like it how you start with positioning the gadget on the market so people know what to expect and watch the review considering it.
Awesome video! Do make one for the iGS630. I think Cycle Rider Roy has a good video on this device, but it will be fascinating to have another look at the iGS630. Thanks for sharing such a detailed review of an excellent bike computer!
Thanks Ketan, I'll see if I can secure a unit for testing! Vishu hasn't made a video on the iGS630 yet, actually can't see too many videos on this one. Do you already have a head unit, or are you using a phone + sensors?
Excellent video. Very informative and great examples. The only thing that would help is some sound dampening panels, or blanket on the wall to cut back on the echo to improve your audio quality and make it easier to hear.
I had my first ride with bsc100. Speed sensor, Cadence and heart rate monitor was connected. It works great. The only issue was with PWR was not working and i don't know how to set up the PWR.
Hi. Nice review. I already have a bike computer: the BC500 from Decathlon, and after 3 years it still is working well. However, the head unit is kinda coming off😢 My question is, would my speed sensor work with the igpsport bike computer?
Tried looking at Decathlon's site, but couldn't figure out what sensor you're using. If it's a wireless Ant+/Bluetooth sensor, it should work - but if not, you might as well bite the bullet and get a new sensor too (it will work with all future bike computers as well)
I bought a BCS100S. It wouldn't show me the driving speed (oo) while the other functions were ok. At one point he showed me and it worked ok. New ride the same problem, but now it doesn't show at all, while the GPS indicator flashes non-stop. Can I help?
nice review, thanks. I'm thinking if buying a igsport or a garmin, but I won't use Strava live segments (I refuse to pay the subscription) and not sure I really need map navigations. I do want usb type C tho!
Thank you Luka :) Live segments are both a blessing and a curse - sometimes they're fantastic, most of the time I wish I could just ride without looking at how badly I'm doing compared to my own PRs (forget KOMs!)
Thanks for a very clear review, I still have a one question, what will happen, if you forget to end the ride and you leave the bike for couple of hours or days? Will it automatically ends the ride?
Nobert, no - I don't believe it will end the ride. I think the device will go to sleep (so the screen blanks out, device seems to go off) - happened to me once during an extra-long lunch break. When you turn it back on again, it will be ready to resume your ride. You could then end the ride manually.
Better accuracy on the speed data and more immediate reactions to changes in speed would be the primary benefits of the speed sensor. Beyond that, GPS often goes wonky, or there are regions in which GPS coverage is poor, like in between very tall buildings, mountains, etc. - the speed sensor would help in such cases.
Thanks for the review. I am not sure, maybe I am unlucky, but my device is not showing speed and cadence even when sensors are both connected. I heard that speed could be shown from GPS? How can that be adjusted? Thank you.
That's an odd problem! Do the sensors work when connected to your phone with an app like Wahoo fitness? As far as speed from GPS, simply disconnect the speed sensor and it should show speed from GPS automatically.
I started with the BSC100S, after about 4 years as I was riding further, I stepped up to the 630 so I could put the direction heading on the display, I occasionally got lost and had to use google maps to get home.
Thanks for the feedback Lane - I must say I never found navigation on headunits to be very useful (mostly because I'm always changing where I want to go!) I do use google maps a fair bit while riding though, where would we be without it!
I have a SPD61 speed sensor Is there a trick on setting this up on the BSC100S? I put this on my front wheel hub and it just seems like it does not work right. Seems like it wants to stay on the same speed for a while .

@@TheIndianCyclist I worked it out. The backlight is hard coded based on location, and is not driven by the timezone setting. I was trying to test this by adjusting the timezone (it was at night when I tried it).
Hi, would you know if this could be used on the different bikes (with two separate sets of speed/ cadence sensors) without changing wheel size? Thanks!
is there any setting I can do to make my average speed correct because I will be riding 38kmh for like 2 to 3h and I will have average of 34 km per hour
This is an odd problem - what speed is displayed while you are riding the bike? Is that accurate? Where do you see the bad average speed - could the fact be that auto pause is not enabled and it's assuming you were riding while your ride was actually paused?
I wish I had the time and the devices erek, to do a first hand comparison myself. I can tell you that the Magene C406 Pro(20% more expensive) has navigation and this does not. Unfortunately no idea about the Meilan units myself - at least in India, I don't think they're easy to find anymore. The Meilan M1 for instance, does have navigation, but I believe it is at an 11K pricepoint. Hope this helps!
Just bought mine few days ago. Everything worked well until I saved my work out and tried to access my work out data on the app. Unfortunately it won't sync and showed no activity data. Has anyone encountered similar situation here ?
Actually, I just had the same problem last night. I've had the unit for a few weeks and it has works without any issues, however, I had a few days off and used it last night only to loose my activity. Apparently the website is under construction. I highly recommend logging in and out of the app before you try it again, it seems to have fixed mine again. I also have it linked to Strava, and it uploads without any issues at all. I was disappointed, but to be honest, I've had this happen to me more than once when using Strava, so these things happen I guess. I've just been trying to search for a way to see if It stores rides in memory/history so that I can upload it. I don't really care about the ride I lost, it was only a small one, but I do care about my 8hr rides, so I want to see if I can get to the bottom of it now. Maybe it's a one off glitch.
Mike, I don't think iGPSport makes a power meter. The unit can connect to a power meter though, and display that data on the screen. Apologies if that was confusing in my review.
@@TheIndianCyclist thanks for clarifying. I know some cranksets have built-in power meter sensors. Was wondering if theres any after market that yoh can just ad to the cranks that works with this unit.
Don't think you can add something to a regular crank, but there are several other types of power meters like pedal, hub and chainring based that you might be able to add. Think the crank ones might be the cheapest though!
I'm afraid not, at least with the BSC100S, there's no way it will upload directly to Strava, you must use their app which will in-turn be linked to your Strava account.
Assume you can pause it and resume, but doesn't have anything special beyond that - do other computers have special support for this? (was unable to find anything from Garmin or Wahoo for instance).. Will last as long as the battery does.
Most of the time it does not post the rides on Strava or it puts them incorrectly. One of my rides was listed as 33 thousand km. Don't waste your money.
Glitches occur with every device out there, but if this is happening consistently, you should contact support. It has been pretty reliable in my experience.
I haven't had the chance to test the G+ personally, but purely based on the size of the screen, I would choose the BSC100S. Both these devices are on the smaller side and while riding, clearly visible data is a big plus, the devices are probably going to be pretty similar beyond that (but again, I haven't tested the G+). Hope this helps!
That was a fast delivery from Ali Express! I must say I can't remember the display on full charge right now, but if the battery icon isn't "blinking" and it shows the full battery colored in (3 bars I believe) - I would say it's fully charged.

Hi. Today i did a ride with bsc100s and strava on the phone, only with a heart rate monitor sensor. The data were identical apart from elevation strava 197m vs 307m, and calories burned strava 1267 vs 2429 from the bcs100s . Who's lying here? 😂
Interesting! I'm guessing the calorie expenditure was massively different due to the elevation discrepancies. Did the start / end elevation match? To see which is correct, looking at the route on a contour / terrain map might help - that will tell you approximately what the elevation at a point should be, and then you can see which device was more accurate. Interested in your findings, keep us posted!
iGPSPORT makes reliable, economical computers. I started with the 50, then moved up to the 630. I wanted the flexibility of the 630, a great economical GPS computer. The iGPSPORT sensors are economical, but not very reliable, look elsewhere for the sensors.
Appreciate the notes, Lane. Can you share more about the sensors? Do they simply cut off, providing no data at all - or is the data they provide incorrect? In my experience, I haven't noticed any problems - in fact I'm now using them even after having switched back to my Wahoo bike computer, but of course, this isn't a very long period of time, still just 2-3 months of light use. Would be really interested in your experience, thanks!
@@TheIndianCyclist The sensors just stop communicating with the computer. I switched the sensors to whatever was cheapest Chinese brands, have had no issues since. Go figure.
Thanks, at least that's a very obvious problem (works or does not). I have experienced it with other sensors (sometimes fixed with a battery replacement) but not with these so far, in about 30 to 40 hours of activity so far
@@TheIndianCyclist I have been using IGPSport since 2013, been quite happy with the computers. I have tried battery replacement on the sensors, one issue I have is the tech support, or lack there of. I have been quite happy with the cheap sensors, they last about 5 years. I find this reasonable considering the price. Great channel, find your videos very informative.
I can't speak to this as I haven't got a power meter to test this with. I am curious though - if you're using something as expensive as a power meter, why are you using an entry-level device like this?
After my second Garmin Edge 520 died unexpectedly I decided to try something different - the Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt instead of the Garmin 530. Boy! I'm glad I did. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXZCtB-wGdHVTBSz8RswePK5vllHNi06N The display on the Wahoo Bolt is much easier to read. I like the configuration of the display more (up to 7 items visible on page 1 without scrolling and the first item chosen is larger characters than the next 3 rows that have pairs of items (still very readable). I also like the configurable item selections. The Bolt synced with my Garmin ANT+ Speed sensors on both bikes easily so no additional investment was required there. While the rated battery life is a couple hours less than the Garmin 520/530, I easily get a weeks worth of 1+ hour rides before recharging (and it's never really low on charge). At the end of a ride syncing to the Wahoo app, Strava, and Apple Health app is painless.

Czy łączy się z czujnikiem prędkości firmy Garmin?
Yes, it will connect with the Garmin speed sensor.

I can't install the version I registered?
Ercank - sorry, I'm not sure what you mean, can you elaborate so I can help?
Can i pair my Magene candance/speed sensor to it?
Haven't tried those myself, but they are Ant+ / BLE compatible and they should work just fine. Any Ant+/BLE sensors will work with the unit.
@@TheIndianCyclist I was kinda worried because those brands are kinda competing with each other. Thanks for your input and the review.
iGPSPORT makes reliable, economical computers.
Thank you for the kind words Lane, I deeply appreciate your support!

this thing is junk because it doesn't show average lap power.... so stupid, can't use for training....
Appreciate that, thank you :)
I bought a BCS100S. It wouldn't show me the driving speed (oo) while the other functions were ok. At one point he showed me and it worked ok. New ride the same problem, but now it doesn't show at all, while the GPS indicator flashes non-stop. Can I help?
