    FAQ's:
    -Why did I receive a spacer that is not as thick as the lift that I ordered?
    We market our kits by the amount of lift that will be gained and not the thickness of the spacer. Due to the geometry of your truck’s suspension, the suspension will be lifted by a significantly larger amount than the strut spacer is thick, in many cases as much as double. We strive to offer the maximum amount of lift possible with the minimum alterations to your vehicle so as not to compromise ride quality or reliability.
    -Do I need longer shocks with this kit?
    Longer shocks are not required for this kit. Vehicle manufacturers do, however, recommend that shocks be replaced in intervals as low as 50,000 miles. If your shocks have high miles, it is recommended to replace them while installing the lift kit.
    -Why am I lifting the truck higher in the front?
    We offer many kits with a greater front lift to compensate for the truck’s factory rake, which is the tendency for the rear to sit higher than the front. By installing a kit with a higher front lift, your truck will ultimately sit more level. Check out our other auctions for kits with alternative lifting heights.
    -Do I need an alignment after installing this kit?
    Whenever the suspension of a vehicle is altered, it is always recommended to perform an alignment to ensure proper handling and to prevent premature tire wear.
    1997 4WD Toyota 4Runner Transcript: Hey, folks, Tim from Supreme Suspensions here and this is another 4Runner. In addition to all the stuff that came standard on these things, this one has been fitted with a TRD supercharger kit and it gives it some much needed grunt, especially down in the low end, which is what we really like out on the trails. Now speaking of the trails, we need to give this guy some more ground clearance so let’s hit the shop.
    Once you get the wheels off, disconnect the sway bar link from the control arm.
    Next, you’ll want to undo the lower ball joint.
    Remove the bolt from the lower strut mount.
    And then remove the three nuts from the upper strut mount.
    So you can drop the strut assembly out of the truck.
    Mark the spring and the upper strut mount so they can be realigned later.
    Compress the coil spring with a compressor and remove the upper nut from the strut so that you can slide the strut cartridge out of the coil spring.
    Insert the new cartridge into the coil spring and tighten to the nut to 47 foot pounds.
    Over at the bench, install the lift spacer onto the strut and torque the factory nuts down to 21 foot pounds.
    Slide the strut assembly into the truck and attach the upper mount with the supplied bolts.
    Attach the lower strut to the control arm and install the control arm but don’t tighten the bolt just yet.
    Using a jack to assist you, attach the lower ball joint and run the nut down to 105 foot pounds. Make sure you install a new cotter pin.
    Torque the lower shock mount nut to 100 foot pounds.
    And tighten the upper bolts down to 21 foot pounds.
    Reattach the sway bar and torque the link to 51 foot pounds.
    Moving to the back, support the rear axle and remove the rear shocks. If you plan to reuse them, you can get away with leaving the upper mounts attached.
    Slightly lower the axle and remove the coil springs.
    Insert the coil spring spacer between the spring and the spring isolator.
    Install the springs back into the truck.
    Install the shocks. Tighten the upper mounts to 14 foot pounds and the lower bolts to 47 foot pounds.
    Reattach the sway bar link and tighten the nut to 51 foot pounds.
    Torque the lug nuts down to 82 foot pounds and you’re good to go.
    Okay, so today we installed a three inch lift on the front and a two inch lift on the rear and while we were at it, we gave it a set of Pro Comp shocks and struts because the old ones were looking kind of old and crusty. She’s all ready for that trek back to Colorado so we’re going to hit the road.

    Is changing out the front and rear struts necessary? I have fairly fresh ones in my vehicle and am looking at doing something similar but don’t want to replace them again.

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits

      No -- its not necessary. You can use your factory (or brand new) struts/shocks with this kit. These were designed to be used within factory operating spec, so changing them out again is unnecessary.

    96 4-Runner Limited here.
    I did rear spring replacement using Moog coils & added 1.5” rear spacers.
    Everything looked perfect for couple years until Moog coils settled in with minor sag.
    I’m looking to remedy that sag with your product
    Will your 2” rear spacers product# 37471 work on Moog Coil spring product# MO81041 ?
    Thanks

    For the front end I've done a 3in true lift and to do so I used the factory jack and pushed down on the UCA there's no need to undo the swaybar end links or ball joint etc...

    Bilstein B6 4600 Series 2 Rear Shocks be okay with the 3in spacer and what’s the correct order for the bump stop, spring and ,spacer?

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  4 роки тому

      4600 series are factory length, If you want extended you may want to look at the 5100 series instead.
      It should be spring --- then spacer --- then the bump stop sits INSIDE the spacer (it will not sit flush, but that is by design) then back together.

    1:39. I guess that is why I am stuck. Only disconnected the upper control arm ball joint but cant get it back together with longer spacer. Maybe I'll try the lower ball joint way.
    Edit: got it done. Needed to hold a pry bar under spring pushing upper arm down while jacking up under lower control arm. This way the vehicle did not raise up.

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits

      When you accelerate the the weight of the vehicle shifts to the rear so it compresses the rear suspension. That is what you are seeing when you notice the additional drop.

      New shocks are not required on most of our front suspension leveling kits. Our product listings should state if the kit has all the hardware included to complete the installation. We recommend you replace your shocks every 50,000 miles. If you haven't replaced your shocks recently, please consider replacing the shocks during the installation of your leveling kit as your shocks will then be easily accessible.

    Just saying if any one decides to do like me and think "well I can do this on my own probably take a few extra hours because I dont have a garage" be prepared mine had 400000 miles and It a winter vehicle so a little rust I've been on the same d@mn bolt for 3 days there is no easy way I'm to the point of cutting that bolt... just pay the 150-250 to have a garage put the lift on this has been nothing but a pain lol just a little advice

    • @Roboticdoughbull3k
      @Roboticdoughbull3k 4 роки тому

      Hopefully you got that bolt loose after 2 months since your comment 😂. Yeah mine was the same so out came the 3" cut off cookie and air tools to just cut the nuts off. Still not ideal for your situation.
      I was completely replacing the entire assembly with Dta quick struts/shocks and springs pre assembled. (Fair warning anyone buying Dta) I realize they are cheaper but had good reviews, are good quality and ride's way better, great actually. After the install my 99sr5 4x4 sat about 1" to 1.5" lower in the front than prior to installation.
      Luckily I bought through Amazon so the seller refunded me the $42.50 to cover the cost of the lift spacers I need to correct the front ride height. This option was better for me and the seller rather than poor review and hassle removing and returning them. Dta stated that I had received the heaviest set up they sell as a replacement set for v6 4x4 99 model. I had heard rumors that 99model is a little higher than prior models so this is probably where the discrepancy came from.
      Anyway I thought this may be helpful to someone else as poor as I, replacing their entire front suspension and reading comments section. They really do ride and handle great, just about a good inch + lower than factory on a 99sr5 or limited.

  • @MrFerrill

    I believe you skipped a lot of steps to make it seem easier to install then it really is... the rear end doesn’t just drop like that by disconnecting the shocks, there are brake lines, E brake cable, sway bar links etc... and why is the spring compressed when putting the spacer?

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  5 років тому

      We were able to install the kit without disconnecting the brake lines. The spring was compressed because the technician was concerned that it would be necessary for the re-installation however that ended up not being the case.

      Yes, absolutely! This will fit from 96-2002 2WD and 4WD. Please note, the kit was designed to be used on all models EXCEPT the SR5 as it uses a larger coil spring in the rear. See below for link.
      supremesuspensions.com/products/1996-2002-toyota-4runner-full-suspension-lift-kit-2wd-4wd?variant=21410343813200
      If you have an SR5 model however, please contact us directly as we will need to change out the rear coil spacer for a larger version to account for the bigger spring size.

      Peyton - So the coil spring is simply too large in the rear for the spacer to accept it, so we do offer a larger spacer that would work well with your SR5. If you would like to set up an exchange, please give us a call at 888-810-6791 and speak with technical support about the swap.

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  4 роки тому

      Because typically there is about 1-2" of rake. Having a 3" F 2" R would mean the vehicle would sit level with an existing 1" rake. If it has a 2" rake then the rear will sit taller by an inch, allowing some squat when you carry a load in the rear, which will then sit level.
