It's the only auto in any truck app that made me not miss a handshaker. My first allison was a 3 speed, I ran it out of oil many a times and it never gave up and with 400k on it worked perfect and never slipped. It was a Isuzu FSR flat bed, prob one of the best truck to put up with abuse and neglect out of me.
Mine says economy and I have never hit the mode button so performance is my primary so if I understand correctly, I need to hit the mode button for economy mode?
Very informative! Now, if you're driving on the passenger side of a dual drive garbage truck, will the Allison allow you to shift through the gears manually? The truck I'm referring to has a 4500 RDS 6 speed Allison behind a Cummins ISM 350 HP engine, and only has a driver's door, with steering wheels on both sides. When driving on the passenger's side, the transmission will only do 1st, 2nd, and lockup, no 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th gear. I'm thinking of doing a ride along in it, and I want to be able to hear it running through all the gears (even if I'm not allowed to sit on the passenger side of the truck). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have no idea, I've never worked on a truck with that config and I'm not trained by Allison, I don't even work on automatics other than swapping them. But I own 2 MD3060s, best transmissions I've ever had.
Sorry I can't help you, I would check harness connections to start with. I've not had any problems out of my Allison's... YET. You can download their software off some skethcy pirated sites for free...... Buy a connect to hook up your laptop is what I would do... They want way to much for their software.
I have the B500R reprogrammed to an H4000 to work with the Cummins ISX600 that I installed. This drive train is unbelievably awesome!!

Really I've never been able to tell a real difference so I don't even bother with it, but for economy mode the little red light would be lit.

6 speed? my SUV has 8 gears. They put this gearbox in a truck that usually has 8 gears, disgusting to drive.
