I also think a segment of Israeli society which considers itself part of this neo liberalist/marxist western elite was actually hoodwinked into thinking the plan was for them to laud it over Israelis by agreeing to go along. What they hadn't realised was that they weren't earmarked to be a ruling neo loberalist/marxist elite but were like all Israelis simply earmarked for genocide. And also no room for them to jump ship to join a westen elite as the western elites are too large a number to ever be sustained by failing neo Marxist regimes and will be culled. Never underestimate human stupidity. The fact that things turned out to be this way doesn't mean it was planned for them to turn out this way since the beginning.
I hear him predict these things back in 2012 on the Tamar Yonah show.
Beyond conspiration theories, Gil does not consider human stupidity. Yes, americans are very smart for certain things like business, but it is also the country that elected Donald Trump, and perhaps he will be in office again.
I don't know about Trumps policy in the US, but I can tell you that trump did more to stabilise the middle east than any other recent american presidents, his simplistic views on profits and loss gave ME rulers some certainty in negotiations with the US.
On the contrary, Obama contributed the most to destabilize the ME by having muslim brotherhood consultants and being opac about his motives.

Thank you for this analysis. As a Swiss who traveled in most Middle Eastern countries in the last thirty years, I can confirm that a lot of stupid steps made by the US have gone the wrong way.. However I also know that all of these steps were under review and very often had strong support by the Israeli lobby in the US. The Israeli lobby are certainly not stupid. Why then this would the Israeli lobby have supported, and sometime engineered, so many steps that in the long term do not create Israeli security?

The first question that comes to mind is 'WHY'?! Why would the United States want Israel to be destroyed? It just doesn't make sense.
Now... let's say the United States actually seeks Israel's destruction. If so - then why would the US supply tons of military hardware and munitions to Israel, Veto UN resolutions against Israel, send billions of dollars in aid and share valuable Intel? Why would the US form a coalition to help Israel against Iran, the Houthis and other Iranian proxy forces? Why would the rhetoric be mostly very pro-Israel in both parties (barring some extremists, especially on the left)? Why all the high-ranking officials meeting on an almost weekly basis? Why invite Netanyahu to address the US Congress?
Absolutely the United States has made horrendous mistakes in the Middle East and pretty much everywhere it intervened/warred. Iraq was a disaster. That country was ruined and hundreds of thousands killed. The result? Now it's an Iranian satellite state and Iran has a land corridor to Lebanon via Syria, so it can send weapons and munitions to Hezbollah without having to resort to costly and dangerous air or sea shipments. It could theoretically attack Israel by land if it totally disregards Iraqi and Syrian sovereignty.
So while I agree with some things Francisco mentions here (namely the mistakes the US has made over the years) - the overall conclusion simply doesn't make sense. The argument that it's all about interests (the military industrial complex, regional power, oil, etc.) seems far more likely than this strange conclusion Mr. Gil-White has stated.
