    To the people asking: The Oath comes out Wednesday. Also, for the people saying this version of Steve isn't evil, The Oath will correct that belief lol.

      cipriano lopez. your right, they should have just let the business die out rather than try to reach new fans....just to spare your tender ego.
      hell, if the had done that a generation before they could have spared someone elses frail ego and none of the books you love would have been created in the first place.

    " Hey sport. You want to know what the A stands for on my mask?" Kid: America? "No. It's for Adolf Hitler." Kid: *begins to get scared and about to cry. Cap. A: * He leans in to whisper, "Hail... Hydra...," into his ear.

    I didn't see Steve as playing erskine. It's that Steve actually believes everything he's saying. There is a war going on, and he wants to fight for good and against tyranny. He just believes that Hydra is that good.

      please. dramatic shifts like these provide a minute of entertainment then cause shitloads of issues with continuity after. good writing is what it needed, and good writing doesn't mean a good guy turns out to be bad we've seen that time and again for 20 years -- its old hat -- and frankly lazy writing. good writing is doing something that hasn't been done, or doing something that been done but making it seem new. its being able to focus on a moment and letting readers understand a character like never before without retconning anything. comics will constantly reinvent themselves until they are only viewed by small children, bringing the business full circle.

    • @Babytronians
      @Babytronians 7 років тому +1

      LeGioNoFZioN But Nick Spencer *is* a good writer. They didn't change anything about Cap's origins. Red Skull only tampered with his memories, Cap didn't do all those things for HYDRA he thinks he did.

    Im not criticizing Nick Spencer's writing, I just miss the true Captain America, advocator of freedom, fighter for liberty, morally incorruptible. He's like Marvel's superman. You know what he stands for, and you know you can trust him. This is still a gut punch, but hey, experimentation is good! Hope the run goes well :)

    • @CryptidZeker415
      @CryptidZeker415 7 років тому

      the way cap was talking at the end of the Oath solidified that this isn't even cap but an entirely new evil character anymore and that the Old Cap is someone else entirely as well. Seriously, once cap come back to normal he gonna go threw major PTSD given what hes done as hydra(a recurring theme apparently is that those who recovered from being warped by kobik remember their whole fake lives and that they all deal with it differently. some have ptsd, other actually wanted that life back, some feel hatred for what was done to them and etc)

    • @thefatman69dude
      @thefatman69dude 7 років тому

      I miss it too. My main problem with this comic is that it's a gimmick. Captain is a villain. But eventually he won't be for long. Lol it will get set back to normal in a bit. So it's eh.

    • @forestgreenking
      @forestgreenking 7 років тому

      Me too, and I do think despite the agony of seeing Steve be evil, this series is amazingly-written. They're trying to make everything tie together and make sense, without making everything overly dramatic. The only problem that I have with this series is how Rubik's touch on Steve (which just lasted for a few seconds at most) became intricately woven like this. Or did I miss something in the narration? I'm just terribly confused on how his life was so changed that even he refers to his 'good self' as "him".

    • @CryptidZeker415
      @CryptidZeker415 7 років тому

      Hero Invisible a lot is still being uncovered as to what Steve's origin is now and with kobik, man we need her side in this cause despite her childhood nature, she is doing g some sly things in her actions like no longer going to red skull and preventing communications between Steve amd Bucky(and in terms of the alteration, let's not forget, Steve was on death's door from the beating he was getting by crossbones right before kobik altered him so out of everybody is think he had to have gone the most drastic change from a 100 year old man to super soldier status)

    Hi Robb, I must say that from the last stories Marvel has published this one could be considered one of the best, because as you say, we are able to see the other side from a perfect hero, so pure, always considered the boyscout, like superman on DC. But with this story we see the perfect soldier turned into the perfect manipulator, in other words a puppeteer, and its great to see as a tie-in from other stories, being Civil War II the most notorius of how this strategist mastermind is taking down everyone piece by piece. This also shows the true faces of other heroes, how weak (minded) or so stubborn are some, and how easily he is able to exploit these weaknesses on his favor, and I´m truly excited to see what happens next on Secret Empire after the conclusion of The Oath.
    P.S: Great video, looking forward for a video from The Oath and what it will follow. Comment also that poor Spidey to be left alone on the roof (:´( ) .

    The biggest mistake RS made is that he made CA loyal to HYDRA, not to him. We don't know if Helmut was affected by the change nor if Kubrick will tell her new friends, The Thunderbolts, what happened. Never has a comic like this got me reading other books to keep me invested in this story.

    For me it's because your taking one of the main aspects of who he is as captain America and turning it off.
    Take iron man and instead of making him a smart alcoholic cocky guy in a suit, you basically have an average intelligent man in a iron man suite who has a lot of money who is very stern but polite and doesn't even say the word alcohol let alone let it ruin him. Same powers, same tony stark, and yet now that is the person your stuck with until they get rid of it.

    Also man, will you be doing a Thunderbolts explained. I mean it does tie with captain America steve rogers(hell, the chitauri caccoons they fought using Fury's Man on the Wall algorithm in the first arc were the same caccoons later seen in the cap series)

    Hey Rob, how'd Red Skull get Charles Xavier's brain? Have you done that story or have you said how in a video? I'd really like to know or for you to do a video on it, if you hadn't already.

    You know, I didn't really care to much for the concept of Hydra Captain America initially, but the more I see the story unfold, the more I kind of dig it... ~_~

    Man can someone explain to me this drastic 180 heel turn of Steve Rogers Captain America?? There has to be a pretty damn good reason for him to turn the other cheek this far. He was one of my favorite heros but now with all of this Hail Hydra stuff coming out of his mouth it makes me want to "drop the shield" so to speak

    Can you do a "What If Captain America Was Revived Today" video? There are some people (and fans) who are burned by the actions of Hydra Steve.

    I gave the Hydra-Cap story a chance. Really, I have, but I'm liking it a little less every issue. The only good thing is Maria Hill is no longer SHIELD's top spy

    Wow ,it would make more sense if this version of captain america actually double crosses red skull and takes the power for himself. That is the only way i can see a writer writing his or her way out of this. Just like Inverted Iron Man which i might add was not actually evil ,compare it like this , Old tony stark was a weapons dealer , Inverted tony stark was more like a techie drug dealer , from this perspective , he never changed he actually was less evil. I believe the same thing about Steve Rogers he is a Idealist he never actually changed .

    is it me or do you find more anti-sjw to be triggered these days than sjw. like people can just watch videos or read something without claiming "how dare this writer create a story that doesn't fit my own political beliefs! "
    jesus people just calm down.

      they can't do the same stories with the same characters from now till the end of time. they need to switch things up

    • @thibaldus3
      @thibaldus3 7 років тому

      I'd say that the problem is the very heavy handed political and divisive message like female Thor punching a guy in the face saying: "And that's for saying feminism like it was a four letter word!"
      Just not very subtle.

    • @thibaldus3
      @thibaldus3 7 років тому +2

      And switch characters progressively? Okay.
      Let's have Rhodes be Iron Man. He deserves the mantle.
      Switch all characters at the same time? Meh seems like uncoherent storytelling.

      thibaldus3 well that's why they called it all new all different marvel haha.
      Because it's all new all different. This being said. All the characters are still around (minus Bruce, and xavier)

    Part of me just wants him to have the iconic shield back - I know he's used a shield like what he has in the earlier days but I still prefer cap with the shield and tossing it all over the place defying laws of physics lol

    • @CryptidZeker415
      @CryptidZeker415 7 років тому

      true, but the new shield fits more in line with steves character given the brace knuckle like style cap is now incorporating(nearing killing a guy like ATLAS from the ThunderBolts)

    Potential energy is the amount of work an object WOULD do if it travels in a frictionless space with the presence of a force, e.g. Gravity.
    Without a force, there is no "potential energy". Essentially because potential for what?

    Hydra Captain America isn't anything new he's been done before but he looked way cooler even though Sabertooth smacked him up in Exiles on Earth (1720) btw Exiles was A-mazing!
