I start crying whenever I hear this song. Not only for the nostalgia of being younger when I played it, but for everything that Spyro, Cynder, Sparx and the other dragons went through. We all fought so hard to protect their world.
When I played the game it was like adventure of self discovery and finding something to protect above all else. I really loved this game and i miss it A Lot. Just listing to this makes me sentimental.

It might've been the repetitive combat, lack of combo moves and that spyro rarely flys like at the tall plains when u get on the floating ship spyro could've just used his wings instead of being forced into a combat section

The Legend of spyro Trilogie was way better in this compared to games that came before it by having Gameplay that gos beond just hiting a enemy with one or two attacks and having a much darker and mature story but not to much that it is no longer for children.this triology had combo attacks, a story that makes you Feel more than just "hey lets stop the villain because why not" and in the third game you cane fly whenever you want, this was a dream come true for every spyro fan.Yes this triology has problems.Yes it has repetitive combat.Yes it is diffrent. But to complain about things that where never better/importent in the other spyro games is stupid and unjustified.
I'd love to play these Spyro Games so much as well, I still hope for a remastered edition 😭 I replayed them two years ago on my Playstation 2 and I felt like I'm a little kid again hahahahah

dawn of the dragon was a beautiful game on the ps3. people complained that the graphics were over saturated in color...but I think it fit well with the fantasy atmosphere.
This song alone shows why TLOS deserves love, it never deserved the hate and abandonment, someone needs to play this theme on a livestream or get it suggested to big channels like Jacksepticeye, we need to keep this series alive because it's a beautiful and heavenly one.
Gotta hand it to Spyro, the only game mascot in the world who has completely revolutionized gaming as we know it. The fact that Spyro has transitioned from being a rather kiddy game series on the PS1, to a dark, gritty Zelda clone, to a series of games that has completely revolutionized both the game and toy industry, and STILL remain one of the greatest games to date is a feat that is absolutely impressive to say the least.
This trilogy has stood better than any spyro game for me. Great gameplay, beautiful music, great story, and plenty of lore to be found. I can't wait for a continuation of the legend of spyro, or a sequel for a new series.
+darkfury45 I never got to play the original Spyro games, but I did play Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail. The LoS Trilogy is one of my favourite sets of games. I would sell my soul for there to be a continuation of this story. Or for something new, but just as good as this one.
This one always tugs at my heart and gets me sad. Not so much over the game, as the child I used to be. It's been a long time, and now instead of trying to escape the world with games, I'm having to fight to want to stay in it. The contrast is painful to look at, let alone listen to through this song.
Classic Spyro, Legend Spyro, both are great. While I prefer the classic Spyro games, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning & the rest of the Legend of Spyro games were great. Spyro the Dragon was a legend.

Have only played A new beginning and Eternal night, saw a let's play on Dawn of the dragon. Think Dawn of the dragon would be my favorite since there is free flying and you can play either Spyro or Cynder, and there is a 2-player mode which is nice, combat looked cool too. But i like all three of them. =)
I started crying SO MUCH... I remember when i was like 6 or 7 when this came out and first my friend bought this. We were in first crade and we were standing in line for flagging (it was Aleksis Kivi's day if i remember right...?) and (we were supposed to stand quietly) then she showed me a picture (on her very old Nokia phone) of the game and i was like "do you get angry if i buy that too" and she said "no. I dont think so" (We were young so the conversation was what it was :DD) Then about a week later i bought that game and i fell in love. It was (if i remember correctly) one of my only games on my PS2 so i played it alot. Then i got stuck to the training part with Ignitus on the very beginning :D I was stuck there like a month 'cause i didn't understand english then :D Aah those were the days. I wil DEFINETLY play ALL three of the Legend of spyro in my summer break :) Anyone else got a nostalgic story about Spyro? :)

Oh yeah, absolutely. I played The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning when I was fourteen years old. I started on the original trilogy when I was seven. I love both game trilogies to this very day.

The nostalgia is flowing in, grab the women and children because there's no stopping it lol this game was a real adventure for me and nothing could replace the journey ^^ this song just takes me back
My childhood was beautiful, as I sat in my room or in the car or wherever I was; I flipped open my ds and went on an adventure. An adventure that was close to home. With every scene and every song I got lost in the tale of spyro. This purple dragon has made my childhood. As I went through story after story, discovering different ways and growing, he had always been there. Thank you Spyro ❤️
I'm amazed at how much this generation criticizes this game about the graphics. "It's too stupid looking!" "The story is too cheesy." That's all my nephew said to me when I tried letting him play this. He is obsessed with Skylanders and I thought he would enjoy it , nope just went back to playing Skylanders. It saddens me even more that when I spent a good amount of money for the first Skylanders game he was happy, and soon when Skylanders expanded they completely got rid of Spyro. I know that his design in Skylanders was pretty fugly and the game itself wasn't even a challenge, but I wish the original owners of Spyro and company would get the rights back and possibly continue the Legend of Spyro storyline or something similar to it. My favorite character next to Spyro was Cynder and her Skylanders design made me cringe badly. Who else wants our favorite Purple Dragon 🐉 to return to his original fame and glory and possibly create a movie or something around those lines?
He loves Skylanders yet he thought the legend series was Cheesy!? Also I hope they do a remaster of the original trilogy like they're doing with Crash!
James Porter he's only six now and doesn't understand what true video games are to this day. Which is why I'm glad I still have my GameCube, ps2, and Xbox 360 to still play these games and enjoy the soundtrack. It's really hard to keep a GameCube working these days, and this was the game series I grew up with besides the "classic" Spyro series. Kids just think generally think gaming is about the best tricks you can pull, the glitches you can find in a game and I'm sure you know the rest.

Yeah, I'd love a remaster of the Legend series, especially since I had the PS2 version of DotD. I'm sure when kids are older they'll understand and appreciate how cool the classics are. I wasn't into Mega Man as a kid and now I'm a fan.
I don't even count Skylanders as part of the franchise. I'm sorry your nephew can't see just how wonderful the older games are. Perhaps he isn't ready for them yet. Honestly I think a movie would be brilliant. If anything a remaster of the original trilogy would be pretty cool. I've heard rumors about it, and I hope they're true. I absolutely loved this game. The nostalgia lives rent free in my mind. The theme song is a total masterpiece. The medley of melodies, the ebbs and the flows, the air of mystery and adventure, the sense of innocence all relatively symbolic to everyday life. It honestly captures the very sound of “A New Beginning.” Hoping this game is remastered

+perpetualParadox The reason I picked up the Legend series (many years after it came out, as it took 5 years for me to realise it had) was because I'd played the Classic trilogy as a kid. I love both trilogies now - Classic for the gameplay and LoS for the story and atmosphere. It'd be incredible if someone could combine the good parts of each series into a future game... but sadly, there are no signs of Spyro coming back for new games of his own. :(
Classic Spyro, Legend of Spyro, Skylanders, I'm a true Spyro fan! I've been with this dragon from beginning to now, and I've always loved everything! The classics were the first half of my childhood, but the legends were my second half, and my God, does hearing this soundtrack bring back memories the same way all the other games do...
I love love love this so much. One of the most relaxing melodies that I know and it is even more beautiful when you are on a mountain and looking at nature.
Yeah, I remember this OST. It was used in The Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon too in Valley of Avalar level. In PS3 this level has awesome graphics and with this music it's one of best levels in whole game. I can explore map and ignore main quest just because I want admire graphics and hear this awesome OST. Really, original Spyro and TLoS trilogy needs remake for actual consoles.

All i can picture is 6-7 year old me waking up on christmas morning, and seeing this is one of my gifts, i played this in the living room all day, and just the feeling of seeing spyro in such great detail and the fantastic backgrounds, ahhh this song brings back memories of little innocent me, before i had the worries of life and where i had to go. Brings back some very fond memories, i killed my first ps2 with this game by playing it as much as i did. I having been try to find a way to play this game again as my old ps2 is shot and i dont really have the money in the budget to buy any system, as o have to pay for school atm, and unfortunately, there are no good rom sites anymore, but coming back to this, and listening to this song, it soothes me and makes me happy. Thank you Rain the shanthien for having this up, i was made very happy to just hear this song again.

Song was and always will be beautiful. When I played this for the first time on the GameCube I was like 5 and I remember crying to it then and I still do now. It makes me sad to know that spyro was put into skylanders and forgotten about in that series which also dwindled down like the first skylanders was ok but after that they sucked. But I still believe that spyro has great potential to come back. Spyro can be remastered or even create a new one.
This piece of music hits me harder than anything that I have ever felt before. Not just the fact that, like so many people here, I've watched, played, cried and laughed my way through so many of the Spyro games. But for how beautiful this soundtrack is. The vocals are amazing and the constant hum of the violins in the background makes it so sweet and beautiful just like Spyro and it sums up his character perfectly. One thing that it does remind me of though is the bond between Spyro and Cynder and how it will never break. They are my favourite romance of all time and I'm so glad that people have taken towards Cynder. Here's hoping that these games might be remastered like the Original games did and... Who knows, we might get a brand new chapter in Spyro's Story as so many people have liked the Reignited Trilogy. I for one hope that Spyro and Cynder's bond never dies as people forget.
I like the original trilogy for its memorable cast of characters, gameplay and music. I like the _Legend_ trilogy for its lore, voice cast, music and world building. So, both trilogies have something to offer for their respective audiences. . . . . . Can’t say the same for anything post-Spyro 3 and pre-LoS.
Can I just say that as a writer, artist, businessman and voice actor... This game and its story has even more potential than is being given credit for. It's already underrated, and I think it could yet be so much better! The Legend of Spyro is why I have come to really like Spyro. Not the other games, truth be told. This one holds some character building, all the others just seem a bit too shallow in my opinion.
My older sister had A new Beginning and Dawn of the Dragon (those are the ones I remember bits of, we may have had Eternal Night too). I always played them more then my sister, which sparked my love for dragons. I was young, around 2, and we had them on the PS2. With the Reignited Trilogy out I was reminded of these games, aka my childhood along with Sims. By now though, my sister dislikes Spyro but my mum still is a Spyro lover. I was listening to this, close to crying because I remembered the tune and my mum walked by and accidentally pulled my headphones out. Least to say she cried a bit -a lot- too. We now plan on buying The Reignited Trilogy and seeing if we can get our hands on a PS2 and The Legend of Spyro games. Thanks for putting this song on UA-cam :).
The Legend of Spyro was a fantastic series! A New Beginning was a PERFECT game imo, with all the levels feeling so great to play through. Eternal Night had a wonderfully darker tone, took the story and continued it well, and some great new mechanics. I found the final game Dawn of the Dragon a bit disappointing though- the story wasn't a great conclusion, I didn't like the design change, and the atmosphere and tone just didn't live up to the first 2 games in the series.
I completely agree! I love everything about the first two games (which were made by Krome Studios) but the third, while still a decent game just is not as good imo.
The entire spyro franchise has been with me since i was a toddler Whenever i feel disheartened or homesick or just sad i listen to this and it gives me such an indiscribable feeling of hope, warmth and comfort
Oh lord this gives me chills. The memories i have of this game as well as the classic trilogy. Spyro has always been one of my favorite games to play with my sister, ever since i was big enough to wrap my hands around a controller. Oh how things were so much simpler back then. The extent of my worries was whether or not i would like tomorrows lunch options at school. Things are so stressful today, what i wouldnt give to go back to being 7 again...

This games song makes me tear up every fucking time...This game was the last thing my grandad ever gave to me before he passed away when i was 6....And this was like a memento of him...this music...it just reminds me of him...It helped me cope with losing him too as we were very close..Gaming and music are such powerful mediums.... yup spyro is following indeed! Sadly I do not own a ps4 to try it. Im currently playing the PS2 & PS1 versions on PC Emulators. I wish I were nostalgic over it but I grew up with crash and ratchet & clank. Never heard of spyro till a couple years ago but im in love with it none the less
Say what you like about the simplistic gameplay--the score to the Legend Trilogy was superb, the story was gripping, and the visuals were stunning. I can't wait for the new the Remastered Trilogy to release on PS4 in just over 2 months' time. God bless you, Perfect Purple Dragon, and the joy you brought to my childhood and adolescence~
Damn I wish I could’ve played this amazing series. I’m only starting to discover how amazing the Spyro games are! I’ve just started playing the classic ones via reignited on my Switch. I don’t own a GameCube, PS2, nor a Xbox or Wii so this situation sucks

A New Beginning is BY FAR the best in TLOS series, The amazing soundtrack, solid gameplay and surprising story remain in my heart to this day. I only played a little bit of Eternal Night because I didn't enjoy it as much. And I never played DOTD mainly because I felt like it would never bring the same feeling that I got from playing ANB. This game is amazing, it truly is.
dawn of the dragon is easily the best in trilogy, it has everything a new beginning had and then some, it had free flight updated combat systems massive levels to explore and the story is easily better than new beginning as everything comes full circle

I had the same situation as a kid, couldn't get past the Ignitus training. Te other three's training wasn't as hard.

My childhood was beautiful, as I sat in my room or in the car or wherever I was; I flipped open my ds and went on an adventure. An adventure that was close to home. With every scene and every song I got lost in the tale of spyro. This purple dragon has made my childhood. As I went through story after story, discovering different ways and growing, he had always been there. Thank you Spyro ❤️

I'm amazed at how much this generation criticizes this game about the graphics. "It's too stupid looking!" "The story is too cheesy." That's all my nephew said to me when I tried letting him play this. He is obsessed with Skylanders and I thought he would enjoy it , nope just went back to playing Skylanders. It saddens me even more that when I spent a good amount of money for the first Skylanders game he was happy, and soon when Skylanders expanded they completely got rid of Spyro. I know that his design in Skylanders was pretty fugly and the game itself wasn't even a challenge, but I wish the original owners of Spyro and company would get the rights back and possibly continue the Legend of Spyro storyline or something similar to it. My favorite character next to Spyro was Cynder and her Skylanders design made me cringe badly. Who else wants our favorite Purple Dragon 🐉 to return to his original fame and glory and possibly create a movie or something around those lines?
He loves Skylanders yet he thought the legend series was Cheesy!? Also I hope they do a remaster of the original trilogy like they're doing with Crash!
James Porter he's only six now and doesn't understand what true video games are to this day. Which is why I'm glad I still have my GameCube, ps2, and Xbox 360 to still play these games and enjoy the soundtrack. It's really hard to keep a GameCube working these days, and this was the game series I grew up with besides the "classic" Spyro series. Kids just think generally think gaming is about the best tricks you can pull, the glitches you can find in a game and I'm sure you know the rest.

Yeah, I'd love a remaster of the Legend series, especially since I had the PS2 version of DotD. I'm sure when kids are older they'll understand and appreciate how cool the classics are. I wasn't into Mega Man as a kid and now I'm a fan.

I absolutely loved this game. The nostalgia lives rent free in my mind. The theme song is a total masterpiece. The medley of melodies, the ebbs and the flows, the air of mystery and adventure, the sense of innocence all relatively symbolic to everyday life. It honestly captures the very sound of “A New Beginning.” Hoping this game is remastered

+perpetualParadox The reason I picked up the Legend series (many years after it came out, as it took 5 years for me to realise it had) was because I'd played the Classic trilogy as a kid. I love both trilogies now - Classic for the gameplay and LoS for the story and atmosphere. It'd be incredible if someone could combine the good parts of each series into a future game... but sadly, there are no signs of Spyro coming back for new games of his own. :(

Classic Spyro, Legend of Spyro, Skylanders, I'm a true Spyro fan! I've been with this dragon from beginning to now, and I've always loved everything! The classics were the first half of my childhood, but the legends were my second half, and my God, does hearing this soundtrack bring back memories the same way all the other games do...

Yeah, I remember this OST. It was used in The Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon too in Valley of Avalar level. In PS3 this level has awesome graphics and with this music it's one of best levels in whole game. I can explore map and ignore main quest just because I want admire graphics and hear this awesome OST.
Really, original Spyro and TLoS trilogy needs remake for actual consoles.

Man does this take me back! Loved this series and the originals. Cynder was so awesome and had such a badass design, plus her and Spyro were cute.
All i can picture is 6-7 year old me waking up on christmas morning, and seeing this is one of my gifts, i played this in the living room all day, and just the feeling of seeing spyro in such great detail and the fantastic backgrounds, ahhh this song brings back memories of little innocent me, before i had the worries of life and where i had to go. Brings back some very fond memories, i killed my first ps2 with this game by playing it as much as i did. I having been try to find a way to play this game again as my old ps2 is shot and i dont really have the money in the budget to buy any system, as o have to pay for school atm, and unfortunately, there are no good rom sites anymore, but coming back to this, and listening to this song, it soothes me and makes me happy. Thank you Rain the shanthien for having this up, i was made very happy to just hear this song again.

Such an amazing and underrated trilogy, I grew up playing the original Insomniac games and I loved this take on Spyro when I first got it in 2007.
I don’t care what people said or say about this game, it was the best Spyro game I have ever played and I absolutely love its soundtrack, makes it feel adventurous and destiny driven

Ah... memories of my days with my PS2. Played this over and over again, never grew bored of the engaging storyline.
Song was and always will be beautiful. When I played this for the first time on the GameCube I was like 5 and I remember crying to it then and I still do now. It makes me sad to know that spyro was put into skylanders and forgotten about in that series which also dwindled down like the first skylanders was ok but after that they sucked. But I still believe that spyro has great potential to come back. Spyro can be remastered or even create a new one.
This piece of music hits me harder than anything that I have ever felt before. Not just the fact that, like so many people here, I've watched, played, cried and laughed my way through so many of the Spyro games. But for how beautiful this soundtrack is. The vocals are amazing and the constant hum of the violins in the background makes it so sweet and beautiful just like Spyro and it sums up his character perfectly. One thing that it does remind me of though is the bond between Spyro and Cynder and how it will never break. They are my favourite romance of all time and I'm so glad that people have taken towards Cynder. Here's hoping that these games might be remastered like the Original games did and... Who knows, we might get a brand new chapter in Spyro's Story as so many people have liked the Reignited Trilogy. I for one hope that Spyro and Cynder's bond never dies as people forget.

I like the original trilogy for its memorable cast of characters, gameplay and music.
I like the _Legend_ trilogy for its lore, voice cast, music and world building.

This game and its story has even more potential than is being given credit for.
It's already underrated, and I think it could yet be so much better!
The Legend of Spyro is why I have come to really like Spyro. Not the other games, truth be told. This one holds some character building, all the others just seem a bit too shallow in my opinion.
My older sister had A new Beginning and Dawn of the Dragon (those are the ones I remember bits of, we may have had Eternal Night too). I always played them more then my sister, which sparked my love for dragons. I was young, around 2, and we had them on the PS2.
With the Reignited Trilogy out I was reminded of these games, aka my childhood along with Sims. By now though, my sister dislikes Spyro but my mum still is a Spyro lover. I was listening to this, close to crying because I remembered the tune and my mum walked by and accidentally pulled my headphones out. Least to say she cried a bit -a lot- too.
We now plan on buying The Reignited Trilogy and seeing if we can get our hands on a PS2 and The Legend of Spyro games. Thanks for putting this song on UA-cam :).
My god the nostalgia hits like a train
The Legend of Spyro was a fantastic series! A New Beginning was a PERFECT game imo, with all the levels feeling so great to play through. Eternal Night had a wonderfully darker tone, took the story and continued it well, and some great new mechanics. I found the final game Dawn of the Dragon a bit disappointing though- the story wasn't a great conclusion, I didn't like the design change, and the atmosphere and tone just didn't live up to the first 2 games in the series.
I completely agree! I love everything about the first two games (which were made by Krome Studios) but the third, while still a decent game just is not as good imo.
I prefer the first one, the 2nd one is good but not as good as the first imp, and I never played the 3rd one.

Oh lord this gives me chills. The memories i have of this game as well as the classic trilogy. Spyro has always been one of my favorite games to play with my sister, ever since i was big enough to wrap my hands around a controller. Oh how things were so much simpler back then. The extent of my worries was whether or not i would like tomorrows lunch options at school. Things are so stressful today, what i wouldnt give to go back to being 7 again...

yup spyro is following indeed! Sadly I do not own a ps4 to try it. Im currently playing the PS2 & PS1 versions on PC Emulators. I wish I were nostalgic over it but I grew up with crash and ratchet & clank. Never heard of spyro till a couple years ago but im in love with it none the less
Say what you like about the simplistic gameplay--the score to the Legend Trilogy was superb, the story was gripping, and the visuals were stunning. I can't wait for the new the Remastered Trilogy to release on PS4 in just over 2 months' time. God bless you, Perfect Purple Dragon, and the joy you brought to my childhood and adolescence~
Damn I wish I could’ve played this amazing series. I’m only starting to discover how amazing the Spyro games are! I’ve just started playing the classic ones via reignited on my Switch. I don’t own a GameCube, PS2, nor a Xbox or Wii so this situation sucks

A New Beginning is BY FAR the best in TLOS series, The amazing soundtrack, solid gameplay and surprising story remain in my heart to this day. I only played a little bit of Eternal Night because I didn't enjoy it as much. And I never played DOTD mainly because I felt like it would never bring the same feeling that I got from playing ANB. This game is amazing, it truly is.
dawn of the dragon is easily the best in trilogy, it has everything a new beginning had and then some, it had free flight updated combat systems massive levels to explore and the story is easily better than new beginning as everything comes full circle
