My man was 6 months late to a review and then managed to rant about a "bug" for 6 mins at the beginning only to say "it was probably my setup's fault"
I don’t think it’s fair to say Capcom fell victim to a buggy launch. The glitch you had sounds like it was because of the ps5 or the HDMI splitter. This game launched in an extremely polished state
you meander for way too long about the audio stuff at the beginning man. 99%+ of people watching wont have this issue why waste so much time on rambling about your personal tech issues. and then the next thing you ask is whether or not the remake ows its success to the original as if thats not obviously one of the biggest appeals of this game. very strangely structured review
You actually can unlock Ada and Wesker in the Mercenaries mode for free without needing the Separate Ways DLC.
Over 5 minutes of discussing one very specific bug you had and relations with Capcom before actually getting to the game review part of the review. It's okay to trim things down!

Capcom will 100% milk RE5 remake, og re5 has the most units sold. I didn't like FPS direction of 7 and unfortunately they won't go back to fixed camera and tank controls because zoomers will cry about it being "outdated".
I think the shooting gallery is straight up awful in the remake. I love the pirate theme, and using the original game's theme for the bonus round is very satisfying. The need to get all of the tokens to complete each challenges checklist is ATROCIOUSLY strict, even with mouse aiming, and with a shotgun or a TMP where the spread is pretty wide, makes it feel unfair with how often you'd accidentally hit the target, but not the token you wanted to hit. And the little key chains being locked behind the coins you mainly get from the gallery checklists is just bullshit.
Regarding your criticism about loadouts on mercenaries: what you're asking for is a sequel to revelations 2 raid mode. And yes, we do severely need it. It's the most fun RE "minigame" ever.
Seems like that audio issue was a surround sound issue. It sounds like it's pushing 5.1 to a Stereo setup without moving the center channel to both speakers.

The audio bug that you mention at the beginning I had experienced under other circumstances, with another RE Engine game; in my case DMC5.
I always appreciate you taking your time to review a game
My main issue, and I'm not completely like against it, but even so, is the homogenization the the RE franchise with RE7-onwards. I suppose Capcom is going for a Final Fantasy approach where each RE title (brand) going forward will be instantly recognizable like every FF is.
My opinion on separate ways is that it seemed like the lead developers wanted to have fun and try to recreate a bunch of classics from RE4 to the best of their abilities regardless of how much sense it made to do so
Resident Evil 4 R was the first Resident Evil I finished, right when I was going through the worst breakup of my life. I played through it like 3 times in a row over 2 weeks. It means a lot to me and is my GOTY

I will say out of all of the resident evil remakes. Both 1 and 4 came extremely close. It was the same, but had extra story to be added on. Along with the graphics and acting of course
Everyone is cool with the monetization. That's where we all lost. It's sad
