When your oil filter socket gets stuck hold the cap and twist the socket the opposite way from what your were doing so if it get stuck loosening just revere your ratchet and it’ll pop right off
The v8s take much more oil so it makes it a bit more expensive, I called dealer and they said $250 if I remember correctly. Between oil and filter parts are only about $80, it deff save some money for real

thanks for the info, I'd change every 5k but also you forgot the torque specs for drain plug and filter housing ??? i believe 18ft lbs or 25 NM

Yes oil change every 3k miles is extreme. Mineral oils yes. Synthetic oils can go 5k to 6k miles.
Yes is a bit extreme but I just like doing it that way. Have been doing it that way in all my other cars for years.
